Ow, ow, ouch!!! Call me crazy, but manicures should not be painful!! He didn't understand me when I asked for dip powder manicure and kept trying to do gel, another lady had to come and explain it to him and it might've been his first time doing this kind of manicure. I really wish the other lady would've taken over. My cuticles are still throbbing from where the mini drill slipped and cut my skin open multiple times. The other manicurist who did my daughter's nails was nice enough and didn't cause her pain, but good grief, her apathetic attitude was so off-putting. And they didn't offer us water or anything. I usually tip very, very well, so they definitely missed out on a loyal customer.

First time for us at Aroma, and my 15 year old daughter can't stop talking about how amazing her nails look. She got a full set of acrylics with fine-g French tips, and had a few snowflakes hand painted on a few of her nails . The techs took their time, checked their work, and went above and beyond to make sure everything looked great! I had my very first gel manicure, and it looks perfect! Steven did a beautiful job, my nails look clean, shiny, and subtly sparkly- exactly what I wanted. The salon was clean, temperature was nice, location is great, and service was prompt and professional. We will be back!

I was disappointed with the experience and the fact one of my cuticles is bloody and sore,and how aggressive the Tech was with my hands! I didn't see This establishment being sanitary! And I didn't receive the service or what I asked for! I am very unsatisfied with a set of nails I paid a big fee for. I hope this establishment can improve and learn from this bad experience.

Unfortunately not a great experience. The guy that did my nails, was so rough with the electric filer that he nicked my fingers in a couple places. Then after I left, I realized when he used the cuticle cutter on the side of my nails, he went way too deep and now I have sores on almost all my fingers..

My girlfriend got a regular manicure and was charged the same amount as my friend and I acrylic set with no color resulting in $100. Just confused on how a person with no color and no added nail resulted in this amount.

Call customers if you are going to cancel before they arrive for appointments. I drove from Corning, 35 minute drive. My daughter and I had appointments at 5:30 and 6:15. When we arrived. The door was locked and they were working on other people. They expect an hour notice for cancellation from the client but cannot call you to let you know they cannot keep the appointments. read more

Its terrible that I have to leave this review, but after months of going I must!! Love the atmosphere, and love all the people there but THE NAILS SUCK!!!! Get them done and less then a week later there falling off! Went back and asked for xtra glue and or acrylic. I need my nails to stay on. I'm not paying for Walmart press ons!!!! I also leave a very good tip 20 dollars everytime! Then I'm told dont open sodas, why do they come off? Good question. Broke my foot and have had weeks off of work got my nails done and 3 days later the nails started lifting. The whole nail just coming off. Not ripping my skin or nails. Definitely going somewhere else read more

I have been looking for a nail place since I moved to Chico, and I found this place! I had my appt at 3, they let me know if I could wait for 20min, since they had 5 other people in front of me, I said yes (I am a patient person & had no where else to be lol) I went to get a pedi & mani, and the service was great! Steven & Ry did an amazing job! I know I would come back for more services. read more

I visited the salon on 6/3/25 with my daughter for a nail fill, and the experience was extremely disappointing due to unprofessional and rude behavior from the staff. A male technician instructed my daughter to sit, began working on her nails, and then directed her to another technician once he was done. He then told me to sit down, and before even starting, he threw down his drill and began yelling in another language. I had no idea what was happening--I was simply following instructions. Another technician then told me I had to move because someone who arrived after me had an appointment. I completely understand making room for scheduled clients, but I was not informed of that upfront. The entire situation was confusing, chaotic, and handled very poorly. read more

I went in for a Fill in . They tried to talk smack of the previous work that had been done on my nails but yet I feel like they left me with ugly nails too. It's hard to find a good nail salon in chico. My nails look bulky and bumpy and the polish is somewhat on my skin.. I believe the owner lady did my nails and I was getting internally angry with how rough she was . My cuticles were irritated and dry afterward. She hurt my nails so many times. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would! By far the BEST customer service I have ever experienced at a nail salon! It was super clean and the employees took extra precautions due to Covid 19. My nails are fabulous, I don't have any complaints!!! My nails are perfect, The shape, the color and the acrylic technique is amazing, this shop has given me the BEST nails I've ever had! The prices are also amazing! I appreciate my nail tech for taking her time and not skipping any steps & paying attention to the small details. My nail tech also took the time to clean and disinfect as she was doing my nails! This was the first time I actually felt like I wasn't rushed out of a chair.. I am so happy with the outcome of my nails, I appreciate this business taking me in on such a short notice, I called and 30 mins later I was able to walk in! My acrylics look great, but at the expense of my natural nail. Two employees dremeled down my nail so thin that the skin felt hot and painful underneath my actual nail. Instead of filing, they dremeled right across my nail tip. I asked that they stop dremeling but they kept going. I would not return here for the sake of my nail health. read more

I was a walk-in, first time customer Sept. 28, 2023. I was made to feel welcome and was happy to wait. The place was clean and a customer was there to start celebrating her 18th birthday. Philip did my pedicure and did a great job! His massage was super relaxing, too! Philip gets 5 stars and Benny gets 5 's!!! read more

Today was my second visit to Dreamy Nails and I couldn't be happier! First of all, they were very accomadating getting me in for a pedi and full set in same day. When I arrived, all occupants were wearing masks and I was asked to sanitize and fill out COVID related disclosures. I arrived early but they made sure I was taken care of as soon as I walked in. Each station is sanitized regularly and equipped with a plexiglass barrier. Nancy did a great job on my nails and I can't wait to go back to see her! Worth a 30 min drive from Oroville for sure. (Plus they're open Sundays!) read more

I was a regular customer of Dreamy Nails, that I loved going to. However, the business has sold and is now called Aroma. The new owners have definitely made a lot of changes and not for the better. The biggest issue is that the atmosphere is not what it was at all. Now it is very loud, noisy, and often smells; definitely not the calm peaceful environment it used to be. They also are doing projects around the shop during business hours that are loud. Also, there is a little child running around swinging and jumping all over everything. Needless to say it is not a relaxing environment; which is why I used to go there over other places. The quality of product is not what it used to be either. My nails started breaking and chipped quickly after being done. Then when you call to schedule an appointment, it's hard to understand them and they don't schedule correctly. I have gone several times where they don't schedule enough time for what is needed or you don't get who you specifically scheduled your appt with. It's sad to see what has happened there. Needless to say, I no longer go there. I hope they can figure out how to better run their business before they continue to lose more customers. read more

First manicure/ pedicure since covid and was very happy. They have all the necessary safety precautions like plexiglass between you and the person during your nails. It was nice to be back and feel safe. Very happy with both my gel manicure and my regular police pedicure. The colors look great and was happy with my service. read more

If I could give negative stars i would. i am so infuriated i can barely type, on top of that i have ugly ass nails i have to type with. i asked for something so simple and it wasn't done right, below i will add the picture of what i asked for and what i got, i am beyond mad and will never go there again EVER $65 dollars for this set, I wish i could have my money back. read more

I was lucky enough to get into Carrie's book as a customer during the early part of COVID. I've…read moregone to her for my Brazilians since 2020, and she always makes the waxing session a pleasant time. I've only had one other experience with soft wax, as most of my other Brazilian wax sessions have been with hard wax, and I've had no problem with the soft wax. Her studio is located in the Garden Walk shopping strip in downtown Chico. The wax room itself is cozy and nicely decorated, and she provides wipes for before and a hot towel for after the session. She also sells items in front, but I haven't looked into what they are. Contrary to what the Yelp description says, Carrie had 20ish years of waxing experience--so you'll be in very good hands if you make an appointment with her!

Please note this review is not a reflection of the staff, just my personal opinion of the overall experience. The masseuse and esthetician were good however I had a few issues with the location. Located in a business park and very close to a main road right across from a high school. Upon entering the clean waiting room I was greeted and given paperwork to complete. There was a diffuser on, with a pleasant smell however the scent was extremely overwhelming...like hit you in the back of the throat, coughing overwhelming. While I waiting I noted there are two treatment rooms directly off of the waiting room, odd as I've always been to places where the check in/waiting area is separate from any treatment rooms. So close in-fact I could hear another guest talking to her masseuse. I was praying I wouldn't get the other room off the waiting area, but just my luck that was my room. My masseuse was very pleasant and did a good job. I had no issue with the service but the environment was so far from relaxing. Upon entering my room I noticed how bright it was. No overhead light but a lamp on and a large window with sheer drapes which let in a lot of light. This window also received direct sun which made the room very warm on a 100+ degree day. The massage started and I was trying to relax when there was conversation in the waiting room, a man was checking out and speaking very loud, he then excited the spa. There is a literal bell on the door handle which goes off every time someone enter or exits, if that wasn't enough there is an electronic chime that ALSO goes off every time the front door is used. I understand the purpose but it is far from relaxing hearing multiple chimes/bells when the front door is used. The bell/chimes went off multiple times during my service, very distracting. My treatment room shared the front wall of the business which has parking spots a sidewalks length away. I had the joy of hearing every car door open/close, honks from doors being locked and someone's very loud stereo, don't forget the motorcycle rev. The business is close to the road so you hear the traffic going by. I was there on a weekend so the traffic from the high school wasn't bad and most if not all businesses in the business park were closed. I can't imagine how loud it would be during the week. Following my service I was instructed to put on a robe and wait in the waiting area for my next service. I found it uncomfortable siting in my robe in a public waiting area while I held my clothes in my arms. I was then escorted to my next service, I was optimistic as I was taken back into the spa. Just my luck my next room was located with the main wall against the roadway. Thankfully I had a head wrap on and the facial steamer helped mask the sound of the passing traffic. But again, I could still hear the electronic chime every time someone used the from door. My service was good and the esthetician was pleasant and knowledgeable. I booked my appointment the night before and received multiple "reminder" texts the day of which was nice I'm on the fence if I will return or not, if I did it would only be for a facial as the environment is not relaxing for a massage in my opinion. .

I've been coming here for years. It's the one place I recommend to people when they ask what the best place is in Chico to get a pedicure. That changed today, I had the worst pedicure of my life. The man that did it was the most talkative (not to me) and distracted person. He started on me first and my friend next to me was waiting for her lady. Fast forward 10 min and he has left to talk to another customer about her nails even though she was not getting her nails done and my friends lady has started. He then spends the rest of my pedicure rushing through everything to keep up to my friends pedicurist.... then proceeds to be on his phone for 5 min looking for someone he can't remember the name of and try's to not heat up the hot stones again and barely even massages me compared to my friends. :( He was very nice and I still tipped him 15% but I don't want to pay $50 for something I could've done at home. I pay for a pedicure to be pampered and it was pretty much torture to watch my friend get amazing treatment while I got below mediocre. Will not be returning. read more

Dreamy Nails and Spa is my new spot!!!You know when you go into a salon and the furniture and decorative scheme are intimidatingly ugly and mismatched, and you wonder if you should trust such a place to make you look good? Dreamy nails is the polar opposite!!! I was recommended by a coworker and when I first got to the salon I was wowed by how lovely it is. Everything is so neat and clean in appearance and actually quite comfortable. It's modern and stylishly chic. I loved the variety of colors and the totally personable customer service, too! After having a bad experience at another salon I was so happy that i found Dreamy Nails. There are so many things to say about this place but let me start by saying that they have exceptional customer service. Everybody was very kind and welcoming. My nails were so beautiful and perfect! Larry did an amazing job by taking his time on my nails as opposed to other places i've been to where theyre in a rush for some reason. My sister, Grandma and I went here a couple weeks ago as a treat for my grandmas birthday. The atmosphere was very warm and inviting, I especially loved the little dog they had there! As for the actual Mani/pedi I wasn't too impressed. My sister got an acrylic mani and within a week the fake nail part started breaking off. My Grandma and I got a pedi and she said she was happy with hers, but they cut my toenails into a pretty funky shape. Over all it was very relaxing but I didn't like the actual product I was paying for. read more

I'm from the Bay Area and my family (Sisters, Mom and Niece) wanted to have a spa day. Found Dreamy Nails and they were able to take 6 of us with one day notice. Phillip and his staff are so nice and welcoming. The salon is super clean and their work is really good. My nails look so natural, they do a great job! The pedicures are AMAZING!! I highly recommend this place. If I was a local this would be my new nail shop. Love the hospitality. Give them a try if you get a chance. read more

Literally the best manicure I've gotten. I got a new gel manicure and she did amazing. She was super friendly and nice and listened to everything I wanted. She did a lot of nail prep especially on my cuticles which I very much appreciated. When she was painting she got close to the sides and my cuticle and it looks great. Not too thick or too thin. Also the little dog is sooooo cute. Fit us in last minute and overall great price!! Will definitely be coming back. read more

I loved this experience. First of all, I felt like a friend and not just a customer. Secondly, Nancy, Teddy, and Phillip, are the sweetest most relational people, and they are EXCELLENT at what they do. Even if you pick a color that is too light to see or not right for your skin tone, they warn you instead of you being dissapointed later. I had a walk in today - to get an acrylic nail fill with nail art design. I was hesitant at first because I had not scheduled beforehand, but they did not hesitate to help me at all! They are always so lovely in there and quick and efficient! always very delicate with my hands and the designs come out amazing. Wouldn't go back. It was a special event and there was a few of us. We were chatty and tried to include the nail techs but there was zero interest in talking to us at all. That's ok, we were there for nails, right? Check out my poor nails that now have to grow out. I'm not sure why a nail drill was used on my cuticle area. I went to dreamy nails to get gels they are $30 to have your nails done. I got Kim as a tech the poor gal was sick, she had to keep leaving while she was working on my nails. I felt so sorry for her.
