Not equiped to produce a french fade look. I asked for a very simple french fade nail with minimal white tip... I got a very streaky white glittery nail...the nail tech (Tracy) looked at the image i brought her and said ok... She did the biogel and it looked great, but when she started the fade she didn't know what she was doing. They have no airbrush machine so they have to do it by hand. As she started i let her finish because i thought maybe she has a different technic..? But then near the end she starts to put the top coat on and all i could see were white lines. I tell her to stop because it looked so sloppy and i could not walk out of there looking like i did my own nails.. And as i was telling her it looks bad, she kept adding more white. So i told her if you cant do the french fade Ide rather do a full color. Another tech comes to see my nails and she suggests to me glitter.. I said ok thats fine.. So Tracy got the glitter and rushed the rest. Slapping on the cuticle oil, no massage and hands me a hot towel. 2 seconds later asks me to wash my hands. The shellac was so sloppy that i had to get her to file it off on the edges. I politely told her as i payed $65, next time, if you cant do the design tell your clients, i would have gladly picked something else. I would have honestly given them 5 stars if they had just told me we cant do that look. read more

So I randomly googled this place and decided to check it out. I didn't have an appointment, nothing. I just wanted to try my luck in the hopes of getting a slot. Which I did :) The ambience is beautiful and the staffs are extremely friendly, to a fault even. The service is impeccable. I was beyond impressed. I felt like a princess being pampered. I had manicure and pedicure both with bio-gel & shellac. And I also had eyelash extensions. I LOVED IT! And if you know me personally, you'd know I'm a very picky person. But they are hands down the best I've experienced. Let's talk about pricing; it's very affordable. Do not go to Aroma nails. Worst nail experience of my life. What should have taken 45 minutes took an hour and 20 minutes. I simply needed an acrylic refill and shellac change. At my regular salon, they can do this under an hour no problem. However, at Aroma, not only was the nail technician rough and not very careful (old shellac was still there when she finished and the shape is all over the place), when she was almost done, there was a hair under the polish but she insisted that it's under my nail and did not take it off - she just piled on more nail polish. Hayley did an amazing job on my matte black ombré shellac & biogel. I'm totally new to having my nails done. She was great to work with. I'll definitely be back. The black ended up being hard to fade. I couldn't finish my nails yesterday because I had to run back to work. She was determined to make sure I left happy. I came back today and she offered to redo the shellac altogether. She developed a new technique to make the fade more gradual. It turned out exactly how I had imagined. I love my witchy nails. Mondays has a $35 Mani Special. I decided to try this place my girlfriend. The ladies are very attentive and thorough with their work. They make sure the mani pedi is exactly the way you like it as long as you tell them. I wanted a very natural manicure and chose the colour OPI Shellac Passion. Its a really nice colour and makes my nails look like I got a French Manicure. The picture is taken a week after my mani and its still very nice. I cannot wait to go back for another one! This is my go to spot for a great mani/pedi, prices are great staff are nice and wait times are reasonable. They often take walk-ins and try to accommodate everyone as best they can. I'm writing however, about a particular staff member there who I think is just fabulous. I went in for a shellac pedicure and regular manicure and Lee did an amazing job!! She takes her time and does a very thorough cleaning of the nails/feet. She's also very sweet, and pleasant to deal with. The worst manicure and pedicure I have ever had. Polish all over my skin, no two nails the same shape or length, jagged tips, a flinch fest from start to finish. It was like the manicurist had seen manicures done and made similar motions but the results were just awful and my skin was filed more closely than my nails. The manicurist Amy was oblivious throughout and spoke almost no English. This made it difficult to explain the shape I was looking for, that she was hurting me etc. The grossest part was after shaving my feet for the pedicure she rinsed the tool she used in the foot bath and then put my feet back in. Sorry that's not cool. After the first hand, I realized I hated the colour. My fault, but I said "I don't like it". Twice. And she just said - it's nice and kept on trucking. Just got home from my mani and I have to say; it is so nice! I find it very hard to find a place that can do an acrylic fill and make it not too thick and uneven. My sister does her bio-gel here so I thought I would give it a chance. Hayley was the girl who did my nails and she was so quick and efficient! The salon itself is so nice and clean. The light fixtures are also beautiful- all part of the experience. The prices are also fantastic! For my OPI shellac and acrylic fill it was only $40! Because my nails have become very thin with time, I had been looking for a nail salon which did bio gel manicures since moving downtown last year. I visited two salons with disappointing results. What a pleasure to find Aroma, and just around the corner! Hayley is sweet and her work is meticulous. There is a wide variety of polish, shellac and gel colours from which to choose, the environment is clean and lovely and the prices are decently competitive. If there's any criticism to be had it would be with the amount of other work Hayley had to take care of while doing my nails. From the walk-ins to the telephone calls to rechecking the appointment book, the attention to my manicure was sporadic and became annoying. Nevertheless, I walked away with ten satisfied digits and will return there when my next manicure is due. read more

I walked out of the salon last night after sitting for 2 hours unattended. My daughters had their nails done. One had a dip that had so many layers the nails look bulbous and my other daughter had bio gel and they filed the nails in different directions - they look ridiculous. Although I was a walk in, and I am patient for other people that clearly had booked appointments, several other walk-ins and groups came in after I was seated with my daughters and they took them while leaving me sitting there. Got a gel manicure refill by the guy here and he used the rotator tool on my nails for two hours until they were the thinnest they had ever been. Also cut my cuticles with it multiple times. I informed him he was hurting me and he kept going. After 2.5 hours enduring the pain I told him he needed to finish so I could leave. When the nails fell off (after 1 week) my nails were completely destroyed. I went to a different place to see if they could help me save my nails and they told me they wanted to cry at the sight of them and that I'd need to use nail hardener for two months everyday to begin to fix the damage he did. Safe to say I won't be returning. Also the cherry on top was that I had an appointment and had to wait half an hour before they even started. read more

I've been a few times here but I just got home from a pretty disappointing experience. Went in to get a Shellac Manicure. I wanted French tips, with the tips in a pastel colour that I chose and had to re-explain over and over...I thought it was clear, but the manicurist painted solid colors on my nails. This was after shaping was poorly done - none of the nails are the same, and I have Shellac on my skin because she didn't clean up properly. She was yawning through the whole thing - it definitely shows, the massage at the end (best part usually!) was lackluster at best, she might as well not have done it. I'm definitely not going back to the same manicurist again, maybe Hayley or Sunny next time, but not her. read more

They called to reschedule my appointment ten minutes before my appointment and then still kept me waiting for 20 minutes with my feet soaking. I've been to this place before and I was not pleased with their work. I went there today to get off my acrylic nails and there was a miscommunication apparently. It cost $10 to get off acrylic nails and I asked how much it was to get a manicure and one of the ladies said it was $15. I asked if that was including taking off my nails and she said "yes", so I asked if I can get a manicure. So I got off my acrylic nails off and Merry did my manicure. She was so sweet and gentle, she was amazing. Towards the end she asked me to pick a colour and I said I wasn't going to get my nails coloured because I didn't have enough money, I only have $15 as I thought from what the lady told me. Well Merry informed me that wasn't the case and the manicure was $15 so the total price would be $25. I was very confused and I pointed to the girl and I said she told me it was $15 in total with the taking off the nails and she starts raising her voice at me and saying I was wrong and she said it was $25 when she didn't. I was very disappointed because it's very rude to raise your voice at a customer. Merry apologized for her actions but either way, I do not recommend this salon and i'm definitely not going back there again. read more
