Had my brakes done here, new rotors and pads. There was nothing wrong with my brakes when I brought it in besides feeling like they needed new pads. Got the work done and on the drive home brakes were fluttering and sliding when coming to a stop. Brought it back in 3 or so times for them to fix either a mistake on thier part or a bad part, but Ramon didn't want to believe it could be a faulty part. During the multiple test drives he could feel and hear the obvious fluttering. Service was not cheap and was never rectified, this used to be my go to shop but now I'd rather go anywhere else. I had taken my car to the dealership and explained what was appearing on the screen when I was driving. Of course they couldn't figure out what I was saying. And didn't fix anything but charged me a arm and leg. I thought I was having electrical problems with my car. Which I expected to pay$$. Aromas auto repair was recommended to me by a friend who will only take his cars to from now on. I can see why they are so honest and really listens to their customers. Aromas auto ran a diagnosis test and located the problem. It had to do with the door latch that was sending a message to the battery. They ordered the part and drove the car to see if the message showed up again. It didn't and they told me to drive it and if the message showed up again to bring it back. So far it hasn't happened. Twice in the last year I've had a car problem when I was traveling in this part of the county. Once I was able to drive my car and even though it had a broken lifter. It was a classic car and Mike Lanbreth was able to diagnose the broken lifter and repair it within a couple of days. The second time I had a major breakdown on 101 with the car I drive most of the time. I was able to get the car into his shop and he diagnosed it and repaired it in a reasonable amount of time. This year my SUV failed smog visual even though it was the same as last time I brought it in. Guy (little man complex) told me it was missing a hose, turns out it was a breather hose that wasn't needed to pass smog, he was just in a hurry to leave for a (family emergency) and didn't wanna do it.. I had a small problem--a blown fuse, apparently--and just wasn't sure where to go for it. I tried to fix it myself but couldn't get the fuse out, and it turned out I was reading the diagram wrong and would have removed the wrong one! Anyway, I was asking for advice on Next Door on a Sunday when Aromas Auto--who wasn't open that day--piped up and offered to help. I drove there first thing the next morning and was on my way back home in 10 minutes! My wife and I have always valued and used Ramon's expert advice until recently. He's performed work on our Honda Pilot and my 1998 Chevy pickup with no complaints from either side I counted Ramon as a professional acquaintance who I thought would treat me fairly. That suddenly changed and I'm still at a loss to understand why. My truck needed brakes. Ramon took the truck examined it and told me what it needed. We agreed on a price. While waiting for parts to arrive he was supposed to replace a wheel bearing, lube the truck and change various fluids. Done deal so I thought. A day or two later he called and asked me very nicely to move my truck to my house as the parts had not yet arrived, No big deal, so I thought. I went to move my truck to my house but while there I noticed that Ramon's demeanor had changed from friendly to being somewhat annoyed due to a lack of parts. I asked why he was so annoyed as the truck would be stored at my house and in no way affecting any potential space considerations that he may have had. Finally Ramon told me flat out that he wouldn't work on my truck because he lacked a "timely delivery" of parts. What ?? I complained LOUDLY ! How could he justify himself ? He simply told me to get out. An employee "Eddie" involved himself in the discussion by yelling at me to get out then taking a fighting stance when I continued trying to understand what the heck had happened. I was both annoyed and embarrassed to be treated in this manner with no forewarning or precursor to violence. As I was facing Eddie, ready to defend myself, another employee, much bigger than me (76) who I had not seen before creeped up on me from behind and got me in a bear hug pinning my arms to my sides, then twisting me backwards and forcing me onto a very hot car engine resulting in painful and scarifying second degree burns to my forearm. Police called and the D.A. will decide whether to file assault charges. Stopping the fight was one thing and acceptable but holding me down against a hot engine was in my opinion, unnecessary and assaultive behavior. I still don't know why it happened and the sudden turn of events. read more
