We ended up needing to call Dick's Towing after a really scary situation--my boyfriend's tire blew out while we were driving in separate cars, and he started swerving left and right. It honestly could've ended so much worse. Thankfully, they were available right away and able to tow us all the way to San Jose, which is where we were originally headed. Lorenzo helped us, and he was amazing--super friendly, communicative, and reassuring during a stressful time. On top of that, they gave us a really fair price. The only thing that dampened the experience a bit was the receptionist who answered the phone. She sounded like an older woman and came across as pretty rude. When I called back a second time because we had lost track of Lorenzo while following him, I asked where he was, and she responded with an attitude along the lines of, "What do you mean he's with you? He's supposed to be towing you guys," instead of trying to help calmly. I ended up just asking for his number. We called for a non emergency tow, but could only do certain times because of our work schedule. They were helpful in recommending a scheduled tow the very next morning. Lorenzo, the driver, was super helpful in getting it towed without damaging the vehicle since it was non-operable. He was very patient with getting it on the truck as well as putting it in a tight space. He also showed us how to put the car in neutral since the car doesn't turn on. In the rain. My wife picked me up, I went on with my day. That afternoon, I was referred to Dick's Towing by our insurance agent. The initial call for assistance was at 2:00pm. Dick's seasoned driver, Chung, had my poor Honda home within 30 minutes --and we have a steep, treacherous driveway with little room to turn around. Wow this place is great! How nice to finally find a mechanic that is honest and has integrity with great prices! After having a nightmare with a garage in Watsonville, I was talking with neighbors and they recommended I try dicks. I called them immediately and they were booked for about a week but I made an appointment right away. They have a very convenient safe way to drop your car off after hours and that's what I chose to do. The very next day I spoke with Jacob on the phone and gave him the backstory on what was going on with my car and how the other garage had dismantled my windshield wipers punitively because I had contacted the bar (bureau of automotive repair) because of no communication and them having my car for so long, 30 days! Jacob was able to put my wipers back to working, found the issue that was making my check engine light go on, and told me that what the other mechanic had said was NOT what was going on with my car. I did NOT need a whole new engine at all. My car is running perfectly. Not leaking, no engine problems, can pass smog and I can't say enough good things about this place. Local, convenient, knowledgeable, honest, integrity, with great prices. What the dodge dealership would have charged $450 to do, Jacob did for $110! Five stars all the way! read more

I had a very good experience with this towing company. First off, our driverJohnathon (please excuse me if I spelled his name wrong) was very nice and professional. Gave us what was the best quote of the night to take my car to my home and did it within a very good time. Not only did he do that but he arrived to our location within the given time frame. Secondly, when we got to my home he parked my car in spot where I didn't have to struggle to get my car onto the driveway. I've had many experiences with Dick's in Prunedale. From fixing a flat (many flats) to breaks, belts etc. They NEVER overcharge. They won't try to get you to fix stuff that doesn't need fixing, which is a huge plus to me as a woman who doesn't know much about cars. The radiator in our truck broke while traveling thru the area on a Sunday evening. We found this garage using YELP and left it using the night drop box. It was fixed in a timely manner for a fair price. We returned 2 days later to pick up the truck (almost 2hours from home). The following day the truck was steaming again. The belts were rubbing against a hose and wore a hole in them. Returning the truck to the garage was not an option. We purchased replacement hoses and antifreeze, studied videos on YouTube and made the repair ourselves. The original hose was installed backwards/upside down by the shop. Everything has been working fine since. I have sent them receipts for the supplies and am expecting retribution for the material costs and labor but the customer service manager has always just stepped out or is not available. I would have rated them much higher based on our initial contacts. Not being able to get a response now is very frustrating and infuriating! read more
