Arnold's my guy , he has worked in my bmw328 replaced the engine in 7days ! Took in my corvette 98 and he fixed/replaced all the rubbers underneath the car ! Yes he will recommend things to you because he sees that it's an issue and those issues could and will save your life! It's surprisingly difficult to find an auto care center that will be absolutely trustworthy these days. This review is not only for Dan helping me last week, but for prior visits I've made here in the past as well. I believe the owner was the one who helped me back when I had a dodge van that had severe engine issues and he was completely honest with me and told me it would be an expensive repair with possible reoccurring issues, so I took his advice and bought a new car (my van had endless issues, there was never a full month that would go by without my check engine light coming on). I moved out of the area for a while, but now that I'm back I needed a light fixed on my car. Dan was very respectful, helpful and professional. I didn't have an appointment but he still took the time to go out of his way and help me which I deeply appreciate. I'm happy to have found an auto care center I can fully trust with my car. They found my suspension problem that the other shops missed. Very happy with the work they performed and the customer service. That was my first review. Less than 2 weeks after the work my steering rack went out. The alignment was worthless after I got the car back. When I brought car in for tie rods I specifically said while all that's apart why don't we replace the rack. Would have saved 100's of dollars in labor costs. And now that I've got to get the rack replaced they want to charge full price to remove it all again. So in other words I am not happy about it. Every excuse in the book why the alignment I paid for was never straight also. So more money has to be paid to realign after the rack replaced. read more

Arnold is the nicest person on the planet. The people in the office are professional and nice as well. Other places leave grease or scratches inside and outside of the vehicle. These guys return my vehicle properly fixed, no odd damage, and with no extra charges. He even replaced a headlight without charging me. When does that happen, anywhere? I was told by my neighbors that this was a good place to have your car worked on. Not impressed. The reception area was empty when I arrived. The shop was quiet. I had to step into the shop to see if anyone was there. I needed my automatic console shifter repaired. When I told the guy in the shop that I had the car with me he wouldn't even go out and take a quick look at what I was talking about. He said I had to make an appointment and leave it to have it looked at. I'm wondering if he was planning on charging me a diagnostic fee for a shifter. Geez. I told him I guess I'll have to find someone else who'll take a look at it. Which I did. I could see it if it was closing time, but it wasn't. Any other place would at least glance at the problem, which they did at another shop the same day. His attitude was so indifferent, so I didn't even mention the a/c work I needed done also. Obviously they either don't need the work or just not interested in gaining my business. read more

Definitely the best trustworthy place I would HIGHLY recommend. I routinely get our oil changes for a decent amount. Plus why would you want discounted auto mechanic work done, I don't have to worry about any fishy business going on here & also turn around time is realistic. Especially the courteous call I've gotten informing me of rotating my tires and asking prior to doing so, which is nice especially if financial budget is a little tight. Gilroy AutoWorks is a very honest and satisfactory mechanic shop! First my hubby brought his 65 impala to get some work done. Arnold did an amazing job. Then I took my Honda accord in because the windshield motor went out. Arnold was so awesome he told me that I do need the windshield motor replaced but to call the Honda dealership because it could be covered under a recall. We were traveling from Southern ,CA . Our Jeep overheated on the 101. We babied it to the next off ramp. We are out of towners and do not know the area. We googled closest shop and found autoworks . It was New Year's Eve and I was so grateful to find a place open. they said they would check the Jeep but didn't think they could fix it same day. I got a call from autoworks the same day and they said they are going to go ahead and get it fixed the same day! Jeep works great now. I have to say thanks for same day service on "a holiday".
