I'm not usually one to write reviews about my experiences at places, or with companies, but after reading what terrible things that one lady wrote about this company, I thought I should do my part to un-tarnish this company's name. I have personally used Around the Block Moving three times, since moving to the DFW area, my parents have used them twice & my older sister twice as well. From the start of booking a spot, to the moment all my things were placed appropriately & my furniture assembled, I have had nothing short of 5-star service from this company. The first few times I used this company my appointment was booked by different sales associates. In every instance these were all extremely professional, kind people. As of recently myself & my sister have dealt with a woman named Suzette. One of the nicest women I've ever had to deal with in business. In each instance, when the day of my move arrived, the movers were always prompt. On two occasions I have actually had the same movers, without request, it's nice to see a moving company that as long-term employees that know what they're doing. All of my things were moved in a very quick, professional fashion, all I had to do was sit back & point. There has never been any damage to anything that I own, despite having a love for fragile decor. During & after my move I was contacted by someone with the company to check in & see how everything was going. The answer was always the same "great, thanks"! There are no extra charges for stairs, or fuel, mileage or any of the other "random" charges that tend to appear on bills from a moving company. I have & will continue to recommend this company to anyone & every one. Don't let the few nay-sayers lead you astray, these guys are top notch! read more

I've used Around The Block Moving at least 8 times in the last 12 years, & each & every time was a 5-star experience. They have relocated my office several times - which included at least 2 truck loads full of electronics, & at least 3 truck loads full of office furniture each time. Everything arrived exactly like it should have. I was surprised that they knew how to disconnect, & reconnect all of the electronics, but they did it like they knew what they were doing. They brought 2 truck loads one time, & 3 truck loads another time out to my ranch - & each trip was flawless. They have relocated my personal belongings from one 4,000+ sq. ft. house to another 4,000+ sq. ft. house 3 different times, & never a problem. I even used them to move girlfriends either into my house, or out of my house. I have had nothing but great experiences with this moving company. Mike, the owner, is very professional, & is as good as they get. Suzette always checked with me before, during, & after a move. The movers are great as well. Ask for Trey - he'll have you laughing. I once had to use a different moving company because Around The Block Moving was booked - & it was the worst moving experience ever. I will never use another moving company besides Around The Block Moving. As for the few who wrote some negative reviews about this moving company, I think it's just a matter of their medication not agreeing with them. I would highly recommend this company. read more

I feel compelled as sales manager to reply to Janet. She was scheduled to more over the weekend of May 29-30, one of the wettest weekends in Dallas history. Janet changed the original time set for the move. We then had a cancelation for the first move of the morning on Friday, 5/29, she declined the new time. We always call our customers to keep them apprised of an estimated arrival time, but this was not acceptable to her, so I offered to move her the next day, Saturday, the first appointment of the day. Unfortunately, it rained torrentially. We will not move our customers belongings in the rain. We treat our customers with excellent customer service and inform our movers to treat our customers as if they are family and their possessions as their own. Janet got upset, then angry that we were not at her home at precisely 8am, when we scheduled the arrival time between an hour window of 8 to 9am. I explained that we were waiting to see if the rain dissipated and that all our morning moves had been suspended. She was the only customer that did not understand why. She also repeatedly told me she was an attorney. Whether we are moving a senator, brick layer, we treat all our customers with the same respect, our best customer service. We realize the greatest advertising is word of mouth and after 20 years of service we greatly appreciate our numerous repeat customers, their family, friends and wonderful referrals! read more

I've now used them twice - once for residential moving & again for my company as we expanded offices & had lots of furniture assembled/moved around. The first time I was moving in a big hurry, and instead of adding stress when I was not ready at arrival they started loading what was ready without question & allowed me to reorganize / gain sanity. They were quick, uncomplaining (despite extremely narrow halls, long walks to truck since it wouldn't fit in garage) and noticebaly professional. I CAN NOT believe how quickly they moved my 2 bedroom home & how much easier they made the whole event for myself and my family. I read moving horror stories, so I was grateful for their calm demeanor & quick action & decided to call them back when I was faced with our office expansion. They sent 3 guys ( as requested) and brought their own tools and supplies ( I did make this request at time of set-up so I would make sure to ask if you need similar services). I was VERY pleased with their speed, quality of work, and professional nature again while amongst my colleagues. They were definetly the best workers we hired in the whole expansion process! I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Around the Block for both personal and professional services & felt it was necessary to write this review after two awesome experiences. I am so grateful for the exceptional service I was provided last Sunday on an emergency move by Around The Block Moving. I had originally scheduled movers from an Irving-based move-crew for Saturday and was told I would have a 1-5 window. At 3:45 I was told my movers were on-the-way to my location... 5 rolls around, 6 rolls around... no call, no message from my movers despite my numerous attempts to reach out. In a panic, I called Around The Block movers in hopes that I could possibly squeeze in a last-minute move-crew to help. My call was answered by the Sales Manager, Suzette. She was amazing! Kind and professional, and was more than willing to help schedule a last-minute move despite my obvious state of panic. Suzette explained to me that my movers would show up to my apartment between the hours of 8-9:00AM. They arrived promptly at 8:00AM and immediately began working as I completed last-minute paperwork. Trey was upbeat, bubbly and positive. Suzette checked-in periodically to be sure that the move was running smoothly. The move was seamless and easily the best moving experience I have had to date (and I have had a lot). Suzette was the first person I spoke to at this place-she is a no-nonsense person and I like that-she scheduled my move quickly and efficiently. I had planned to call a few places but I instantly liked her and decided to go with my gut. The movers were just plain wonderful. Andy, Trey, and Austin were careful, quick, hard working, and fun to have around all day. I really liked the fact that they seemed to genuinely enjoy working together, moving is stressful enough without having to worry that your movers don't want to be there or can't wait to be done for the day. I had an issue come up at the end of the day (not even their fault, my fault) that was quickly resolved by the guys and Suzette- and I wasn't even charged for it (when they had every right to!) Suzette called me periodically to check on how things were going too, which I appreciated. I would highly recommend this company! I just want to add that I was in no way compensated for this review-they did ask that if I was happy with the service would I leave a good review -I am more than happy to share my positive experience with these great people. I was very pleased with Around the Block Moving! I scheduled my move with Mike, who explained their pricing and an estimated length of time. The three movers called ahead, presented their card and introduced themselves, and throughout the move they continued to be very professional. The move wasn't easy: from a large 2nd floor apt. with interior stairs (landing and 2 sets of stairs) to a first floor, with my heavy furniture, washer and dryer, plus countless boxes. They worked quickly and efficiently. I even received a call from Mike to see if the movers had arrived. At the conclusion of the move, I received a detailed explanation of the total cost and was asked if I was satisfied with everything. I called Mike afterwards to express my satisfaction with the entire experience and a promise to recommend them to anyone needing a moving company. This is not a company that hires day workers. These movers are company employees who handle all types of moves, from large homes to apartments. Around the Block Moving will be the only moving company I call. read more

I moved November 29, 2014 from a large home to a duplex. I have had bad experiences with movers in the past. This time, I did my homework and searched for a good moving company that would take the time to wrap my furniture and move it carefully. Well, let me tell you, not only did they show up on time, they did a quick walk through and got to work. They did not stop until they were done (7.5 hours). Chris, Pat and Mark were absolutely professional. Good attitudes the entire time. I was so impressed with this group of guys. Any moves in the future will be done by Around the Block. I am extremely hard to impress but this company is top notch from the moment you book until the moment you take the last piece off of the truck (and by the way, we had to make 2 trips because Chris did not want to stack any of the furniture). I highly recommend this company, especially if you have antiques, and, if you can get Chris, Pat and Mark you will have a smooth move. I have used these guys personally and professionally- all 4 times were good experiences. They go out of their way to be friendly and accommodating. I had a bad past experience with a move for my boss, so i was being super anal and OCD.... they were exceeding my expectations above and beyond. Extremely patient because I was not sure on how I wanted things, but also very fast working when i did know. I also had art I was very worried about, they let me know how it was being packaged/ helped with the best ways to move it, and even showed me their methods to confirm i was comfortable. That, is not the attitude of most movers I have encountered in the past. Locally owned & operated, knowledgeable with many varying DFW locations, and hassle free. Around the Block Moving was incredibly accommodating and easy to work with. Suzette rescheduled me when my first time slot did not pan out and called to check up on the quality of the service. Freddie and Trey were my movers and had such a positive attitude during the move that the whole process seemed much less burdensome than I had originally anticipated. The Company definitely respected the fact that I was paying by the hour and worked as quickly and efficiently as possible, which was easy on my itinerary and my wallet. The truck came with all of the supplies and equipment necessary for navigating large pieces up and down narrow stairs and padding them appropriately for the move, which had been an initial concern of mine as well. I worked with Suzette in booking, and Trey did the move. Suzette was very thoughtful and called me the day before to confirm. The movers were true professionals: 1) timely 2) focused 3) incredibly capable and expert at each stage 4) all-around professional demeanor and execution. I was greatly impressed by the speed, efficiency, care and expertise of the movers. I felt like I learned a lot by watching how they did their job. I had some very delicate and hard-to-package items, which the team did a phenomenal job with, from packing to transporting and storing. The move was priced by the hour, and I anticipated a full day. Scheduled an appointment with Suzette who offered a reasonable quote and explained any surcharges that may apply. As promised, she confirmed the appointment with me the day before and provided an accurate window of time. She also followed up after the appointment to be sure everything was done to my satisfaction. Freddie and Trey showed up exactly on time and were very courteous. They explained the process and got straight to work--which helps since they charge by the hour. They took care of everything and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. We have moved a lot and by some of the big ones like Allied and Mayflower but Around the Block is the best and their workers are wonderful! They almost made moving fun and I never heard them say, it couldn't be done or even complain. We didn't move a piano but we have some big pieces and Trey, DJ and Freddy moved everything with the same care I think they would take with their own things. I was very nervous and Trey even kept telling me to breath! Mike and Brian at the office were also great. I called several times to make sure they didn't forget me and neither one of them got tired of my unnecessary calls. My mother was looking for a mover for a dual purpose- to help pack her storage unit and plan a move across the country. She needed help with packing a few of the larger items- as they were to heavy to lift. The movers; LeDarrin, Reggie, and Robert, showed up a bit early (not before calling first to see if she was going to be around.) and they worked HARD for three solid hours, on a very hot day. The movers from Around the Block packed up the items so they could be in storage for a few years and I feel confident they will be in good condition when she pulls them out. From the initial call to executing the move - this team did an fantastic job! Mike was very thorough in explaining what would need to be done for our very unique move (1500+lbs antique, English phone booth). They showed up on time and were very conscientious. I was impressed with the amount of expertise and communication that was ongoing throughout the move. I also very much appreciated the can do attitude and comedic relief in a stressful situation. I was moving from the second floor into a third floor apartment which is already a bad move. on top of that I was about 36 hours behind schedule. so when the movers arrived the place was still a mess and there was tremendous amount of clutter. they would have been well within their right to leave or charge extra, however both were friendly, polite and professional. they moved everything requested quickly carefully without damage or harm and then got it safely into the third story apartment. Around the Block Moving are the best from beginning to end. Love the customer service from the confirmation call of my moving date to the follow-up call after moving. Andrew, Reggie, and Brandon were awesome. I could tell they had done this a few times with how they fit my three-bedroom home with appliances and a full garage on their truck. They loaded and unloaded everything, and hooked up my appliances in 2.5 hours!!! Can't get over that. I'm waiting to hear someone is moving just so I can recommend Around the Block Moving. read more

I want to thank Andy & assistant for helping me move a few weekends ago. Moving is not the best thing to do in the world but Andy sure made it fun! The moving team was polite and very very helpful.
