I got locked out of my rental car and reached out to Hertz roadside assistance. Because the keys were locked in the trunk (yes, I know this is silly... imagine how I felt having to tell the same story of how I got my keys locked inside the trunk 10x to my coworkers), Hertz couldn't unlock the car themselves so had to dispatch someone local (not sure why, I think it's just a matter of policy). The Hertz operator reached out to Around the Clock Locksmith and told me to expect a call from them. Winter 2011, I had the pleasure of using this service when my 1991 BMW 525I locked when my battery died! The temperature was about 25 degrees...freezing cold! After a call to two other well none places, Joe was the ONLY one who was able to unlock my door after not giving up for over an hour and a half!! I had the key but old beamers are the worse and most difficult to get into once battery is gone!!! Joe was diligent and determined to unlock my BMW. It was freezing cold but he would not leave until the car was unlocked successfully!! Everyone else told me that I had to call a beamer dealership to have it towed. About two years later, 2013, fortunate for me, I still had his number in my phone and called him to help with my mother who was locked out of her Nissan Altima at a local shopping center and of course he came right away and was able to get the door unlocked within10 minutes! My wife used them while i was away at work We got an estimate for 3 doors. over 150- when they guy got to my wife, 1 door wasn't a stanadard kind of lock so it couldn't be done. So then we only had two basic doors. The guy told my wife, well we have a 100 minimum so no matter what you're still paying me 100$ then he charged her 35 dollars to put on a bathroom door. 35$ ???? FYI: On the phone the quote was 12$ a door- Wish I was there! but I am an Police Sgt who had to train recruits out of town. Put it this way, it would not have went down if I was there. Very sad how they did my wife. I would never use this company again. How the HECK do you all of a sudden, when you know you only need 2 doors done instead of the 3, going to say well, you still gotta pay 100$ for coming out? I wish I was there! I would have gave him 12 per door like we discussed. Is this what y'all do, rip off customers? 135 for two basic door knobs? we needed this done pronto and my wife didn't want to wait for me to fly back to do it. We needed a locksmith for our close to 20-year old front and back door locks. Keys stuck and wouldn't turn - finally got in. I usually don't do reviews as much as I should when I receive great service but Im gone to start today. I called Joe about getting my locks changed on my condo. He was very pleasant over the phone, I didn't get that vibe that he was money hungry or was gone to screw me over. When he came to my house on monday to change my locks he was very respectable. He explained to me in good detail the difference between the two different locks i could choose from and what would be easier for me but durable and high quality at the same time. He was very quick when installing the locks, we also had a wonderful conversation in the process. He's very down to earth, pleasant, compassionate guy when it comes to his career. Answered the phone right away, gave me an accurate estimate for getting to me in rush hour traffic, and got me back into my apartment in just a few minutes once he got there! This was especially incredible to me as I called another locksmith first, who was honestly a bit rude on the phone and gave me a 10 minute estimate to call me back, and hadn't in the 45 minutes I'd waited until I called Around the Clock. He then gave me some very thorough explanations of why my lock failed, and estimates for me to give my landlord to get a new one installed (and didn't push me to make any decisions before I talked to them!) The owner himself came immediately to help me open my car. I was freezing cold and close to frostbite, when Joe arrived in approximately 10/15 minutes , he had me to sit in his vehicle to stay warm as he solved my lock out problem in a quick and professional manner. My dead bolt door lock failed. I babied it for a couple of days- and finally it wouldn't work at all... I was locked out. Called Joe- and he made it to my house within the hour! He needed to drill it out and refit with a new dead bolt. He also advised that I switch out the failing handle - and BOY OH BOY! I now have a double lock for that door! And it's a beaut- heavy and sturdy and strong! Joe was professional - fast - and helpful in every way - and fair! I locked my keys in the trunk of my car. Don't ask me how. And of course I was late for work. This guy must be used to dealing with people worried about being late, because he looked up his travel time in GPS for me so I could tell my boss how late I was going to be. He got to me right when he said he would, and had my keys out of the trunk in under five minutes. He charged on the fair end of what I was expecting to pay. :-) He was also very friendly and up beat. Called and spoke with Ryan a couple months ago because my dads truck was stolen and we wanted to change the ignition. He referred me to someone who came down to do the work. Remembering how accomodating and helpful he was, I called him for a second key with fob that Ford wanted $250 for. I was not confident doing it myself on the cheap which would have been the same price as he wanted...but...he guaranteed the work. SOLD! He came to the house and even made me a regular key to keep safe just in case both fob keys are lost so he can make another with out jumping through hoops. After scouring reviews and different companies, I stumbled using Around the Clock. The reviews were stellar and I now know why. Joe picked up on the first ring, offered me a price to rekey all my locks, and told me to call him back if/when I was ready. After realizing it'd be much cheaper to rekey all of our high quality locks rather than buy new ones, we asked when he'd be available. He was at our house in under ten minutes! Joe was kind, but more importantly thorough and quick. He got our entire house rekeyed in about 30 minutes..easily the best money I've ever spent. Joe was great! We called him for an after-hours call when we were locked out by a storm door that we had no way of unlocking from the outside. He called us when he was on the way to let us know how long he would be, and got us into what he said was a very difficult door to open in no time with very little damage. And when I asked him, out of curiosity because we had just moved into our house and hadn't done it yet, how much he charges to rekey locks, he offered to rekey our lock while he was there, and threw in extra keys too! Joe is the best. My wife locked the keys in the trunk of our 2011 BMW 128i with a trunk full of groceries. Joe got to the grocery store parking lot within 15 minutes and in less that 3 minutes he unlocked the car door but the electrical system was shut off. Hugh problem. Joe got into the back seat and navigated through a trunk full of groceries and found the keys. He saved the day by getting the keys out of the trunk, and saving over $150.00 in groceries from going bad including the Easter ham. Outstanding service! I called Joe when I realized my ex was using an old key to get in the house. He came within the hour, in sixteen degree weather, at night. He was at my home before I was, waiting for me. And when he didn't have a new hardware set that matched my old one, he went out and got one. This is at 9 pm at night. He showed me a few other things about my front door that I didn't know about, like the hinges were a little loose and tightened them for me and showed me the difference that made in the door closing.
