She finally got pricing and said she would go over it with her husband (me, since we were considering joining together) and come back tomorrow. When she went back the next day, she was told to wait for someone to meet with her. After waiting for an obscene amount of time, she asked to speak with a manager. The receptionist told her that nobody was available. She left her name and number for a MANAGER to call her back. Someone called her back an hour or so later - it was not a manager. By this time she could not return to the club to sign up and asked if they would honor the holiday weekend pricing if she came in the next day. She was told no but she could sign up over the phone. My wife informed them that she could not read the contract over the phone. They basically said "too bad." Bottom line, she did not join. The customer service there is awful. Had my wife been treated with some respect she would have signed up. It's a shame because the price was decent and the amenities (including a pool) seem to be pretty good, though reading some of the other reviews, I'm beginning to think this was a blessing in disguise.

Is it my curly hair? My full lips? My hazel eyes? Or even better...is it my round nose that makes…read moreyou not want to say 'hi' back to me or much less a simple 'good morning' even when I kept more than 6' of social distance from you? But I didn't understand a lot of these people anymore. And I'm not even talking about politics- these Hamptonites are just so damn far removed from having any decency towards anyone who don't look like them, it's an eye-opener. So for that person I said 'hi' to at the beach and didn't return the gesture, I said 'hi' again- and he did too- yet his response was so forced, I did it to prove him a point. And by our 3rd full day, I just stopped saying shiit to people. These folks don't care when their words, silence (in this case) and actions hurt someone else. So my review is going to be a bit of a rant with my grim version of SNL's 'Deepest Thoughts' in no random order: Even when I was being respectful and well-mannered, because (that's always me and every sane person out there) it was obvious Hamptonites refuse at all cost to know the meaning of that. I come from a world where if you're friendly to people, they'll generally be friendly to you. Common sense right? Common courtesy? Not here. Aside from their wealth, people here lean so far to the right they have that obnoxious, dry ašš attitude written all over them. Even though we were ways from Montauk, it's been ages since we were in the Hamptons and stayed at the Panoramic View. So when hubs surprised me with a long birthday weekend road trip to the Hamptons, I made sure to ditch my already-laid-out Lake Placid wardrobe for being up in the sticks for a more sleek wardrobe with timeless pieces, high-waist pants, silk shorts for my 4-day stay. Because hubs loves to drive, we ventured out all which ways and pretty much caught up with ALLLL the 'Hamptons' AND the bays! We shopped a bit at Amagansett. But it was Sag Harbor where it was all about the boating and hubs was all in it! Elaborate mansions? Absolutely! Phone reception was so patchy in so many places, it was just downright horrible. Sharing the road was another disaster and we could tell with one flip of the switch, some drivers could get downright road rage. We don't even get that shitt in Westchester County! I chatted with two of my dear friends both on different ends of the geographical spectrum- and I told one of them who lives in FL we've visited Sanibel too many times to count. And told her-folks in Sanibel are welcoming and it's politeness every time that counts for me. My other friend- favors quaint North Fork more than the Hamptons- shared with me some of her favorite towns, wineries and so much more and I was sold. 'I rather visit these towns before I step foot again in the Hamptons anytime'- was my thought. But you know what? It turns out happiness is a real place and it's located where locals are welcoming of anybody who enters their space and have common courtesy of just saying 'hi' even if you don't know them or by the way you look. And it's not in the Hamptons. So don't hate Hamptonites. Be kind. It also means being polite. It means being nice. And it also means not being aššholes.

Members are generally very satisfied with the many services and programs. The fitness center is well equipped and supervised and is kept in excellent operating condition. There are plenty of TVs with convenient connectivity to those working out. The main gym is large and accommodating to team soccer, basketball , archery and pickleball. Pickleball nets are easily assembled and the gym weekday mornings welcome free open pickleball. The locker rooms and bathrooms are very clean. There is an on-site excellent physical therapist in the fitness area, who is my go to PT expert, Mr. Matthew Mobius. On the negative side, the building is in much need of a tune up. The SYS Administration does not have a consistent record of friendly and responsive management. The front desk may be staffed with poorly supervised youth doing mandated community service. The squash court walls are particularly beat up, in immediate need of repair. Parking is often lacking due to the strong popularity of SYS. Unfortunately the facility lacks an indoor pool. SYS is an important part of the Hamptons and there is really nothing else nearby that offers such a varied and affordable sports venue. The nearest YMCA has an excellent indoor pool and is located in East Hampton.
