We saw Kettle Hills from the road and said, "What the Hell". They got us out right away even though they had a corporate event just starting, great pace of play, and let's just say the greens fees are just slightly less than Erin Hills (about 5%). The course was in fantastic shape, the service (shop, bev cart, bar and grill) couldn't have been better. The greens were actually better than Erin Hills. We scheduled a tee time and showed up early to warm up. The check in was easy, and the employees were great. They even let us tee off a little early since we were ready. The course itself was in great shape. It is a very peaceful environment, and even though there were many others on the course that day, we still felt like we had the place to ourselves. We were never rushed by groups from behind, or slowed by groups ahead. And this is a course that can be enjoyed by any skill level of golfer. Now that we have had this first experience at Hartford Golf Club, we cant wait to go back again. This has now become our go-to course.

The course is fairly open, so even a casual golfer (like my wife) can play here without feeling intimidated. It has a great links feel, and does remind me a bit like Erin Hills, with a few more trees and less difficulty. The day we came, the weather was perfect. Sunny, light breeze, and few clouds. Our experience started with a friendly check in at the pro shop. Every staff member we interacted with was helpful and professional. They all showed pride in their work, and made our experience memorable. From the pro shop, to the Marshall, to the snack bar, to the beverage cart, all A+ service. For the course itself, it was perfect. Fairways nicely groomed, greens in pristine shape, and the fescue intimidating. You can be rewarded by keeping the ball on the short grass. But get in the long stuff and you can drop some shots. I ended up 2 shots under average thanks to a lucky hole out on #7. Can't wait to play here again. This was one of my favorite courses to have played in a long time!

I have been golfing there once a year for several years. In June of 2025, we were forced off by…read morelightning and rain on the 8th hole. Received a cash register receipt for $15 and change as compensation. Fast forward to yesterday. Offered the cash register receipt toward the greens fee. I was told that it was not a credit, but rather a receipt showing that a refund had been made back to my method of payment. I disputed that fact to no avail. After returning home, I checked my credit card records, which confirmed that I had paid the greens fee on that day in June, and had NOT received any credit back. I got nowhere with trying to argue my case with the 2 un-friendly guys in the clubhouse. By the way, when I checked in there were 2 ladies working who were quite friendly, however they seemed to have NO authority whatsoever.
