Relatively a short golf course. Has an interesting layout with some challenging holes. Course conditions are acceptable.

The country club as a whole is actually pretty small, which surprised me. It definitely gives off quaint and exclusive vibes. Being on Beaver Lake, I'm assuming it costs a pretty penny to be a member, but we were glad to just be guests for the day! This wedding reception was held primarily both on the sprawling outdoor patio and in the 'Beaver Lake Room' of the club. The patio is triple-tiered overlooks the entire lake. A gorgeous setting. I thought the service for the evening was great! All of the staff seemed to work seamlessly to keep up with the 150+ guests. The multi-course dinner came out quickly and near the same time for almost everyone, plates and cutlery were removed so timely, and wine/water glasses were continuously refilled. All in all, this was a wonderful experience. It sounds like they host lots of events, from fundraisers to golf outings and banquet, and beyond. So maybe we'll one day return!

Of cotillions on warm summer nights and of having a drink at the bar with your closest friends. Well, other than the pool, the tennis courts, and cotillions, you would be describing the West Bend Country Club. The West Bend Country Club is a pretty standard club. Membership here also allows a reciprocal relationship with a couple of other clubs in Wisconsin which is a nice perk. They have two levels of membership- social- just for eating in the restaurant, and golf which allows access to the full experience. This review is for a social membership only, and since there is no pool at the club- it is really only just for the dining room. I have been here for business lunches, special events, holidays, Sunday brunch- you name it! I guess that's a good thing- as with every membership, there is a minimum required spend per month that you need to hit as a member. My challenge with that- is I often get tired of eating at the same place just to hit the quota, as my relatives and friends who live near here constantly make this their first suggestion when eating out. What you usually expect from a private facility like this, is unparalleled service, food that you can't get anywhere else and facilities that are second to none. After all- that is what your membership dues go toward and most clubs I've been associated with deliver on this in an amazingly consistent way. But I continue to struggle with that expected level of service here. Granted I get that this is a "smallish" town in Wisconsin so maybe my expectations should be different than a country club in a major metro area- but in my opinion- if you are going to charge dues- you better have your act in gear. Service here is okay at best and borders dangerously close to absent at times which used to be unheard of in a private club. The food, on the other hand, is quite good which is why this is a 3 star review. I've never had a meal here that didn't meet my expectations. Country Clubs. They aren't for everyone. They tout the best food and service and allow for golf on the better courses.. As for me? I'd just as soon eat with the "less well heeled" and have lower expectations of the personal service and attention. But that's just me.

Milwaukee Country Club is a private club offering golf, tennis, dining, etc. My review is about…read morethe golf course. Being a private club, there are only a few ways to golf here. First, be a member. I have no idea how you do that - I think they just find you if they want you. Or, be a guest - if someone invites you, by golly take it! You can also bid on a silent auction or something - rounds like this don't come around often! With Milwaukee Country Club, you've either heard of it (and know its reputation), or you've never heard of it. Those "in the know" will tell you all about it and revel in it's perfection. Most golf publications rank this course #2 or #3 in Wisconsin, only behind Whistling Straits and maybe Erin Hills. And they're not wrong. The same publications consistently rank it in the top 100 courses in America - usually around #70. Very impressive. But how IS the course, you ask? Milwaukee Country Club is a well-written novel with 18 interesting, developed characters - each pivotal to the plot. In other words, this course is absolutely exquisite. Everything is exactly where it should be - every shrub, tree, bench, bunker, etc. - it's right where it needs to be. This course is over 100 years old, and over that time, things have been figured out. Boring holes? None here - each hole is memorable and interesting. And don't look for any signs telling you which tee box you're on, or markers in the fairway showing yardage (like, white or red yardage stakes). It's clean, baby... all natural, no visual pollution. Bring your GPS. Also, this course is made to walk - no problems walking it compared to other courses. The bunkers are strategically placed - each one making you think and rethink your next shot. You don't want to be stuck there, as they often have steep walls you may not be able to clear. One thing I've noticed playing other courses since then - the attention to detail *everywhere* on the course is the real difference. If you're in the rough - you get the same rough wherever you are. There's no bare spots or dead patches here. No sir. Greens are impeccable - mowed daily during the summer. They may not be "pool table fast", but they'll give you a steady, consistent feel that carries from hole to hole. I loved them. The back 9 jumps over the Milwaukee River and back, giving you great views. Both the front and back nines finish with holes coming toward the sprawling clubhouse, creating a "I feel like a professional wrapping up my round" feeling. Like I said, if you get a chance to golf here, don't be a fool and pass it up. Take it - you may never have another chance. If you're a member, well, congratulations (and feel free to hit me up to be your guest - any time). Otherwise, this is the course that golf lovers only dream about.

The first time I brought my 2yo daughter and they have a cute coloring book and toy which is nice and kept her distracted for a while. The short rib pizza is phenomenal! For dinner tonight, I ordered the Birdie - a sandwich consisting of grilled chicken, ham, bacon, Muenster cheese, lettuce, tomato, and pepper cream dressing. It was absolutely delicious. The bun was nicely toasted, the cheese was melted and gooey, the lettuce and tomato was fresh and crisp, and the chicken was nicely seasoned. The sour cream and chive fries that came as a side were golden brown and crispy. You could really taste the sour cream and chive flavor. My meal also came with a fruit kabob, which was a great touch. One of the more memorable dishes I've had in the past was the Powerhouse Salad. It consists of mixed berries, avocado, quinoa, hemp hearts, goji berries, and pistachios on a bed of greens with a poppy seed dressing. I ordered grilled chicken on top, which complimented the sweetness of the other ingredients nicely. The desserts are always incredible. Tonight, we were brought an assortment of cookies. The peanut butter chocolate chip cookie was chewy without being too dense and the peanut butter flavor really shined through. The double chocolate cookie also had nuts on the inside and the cookie had a pleasant coffee undertone. The classic chocolate chip was just what you'd expect - comforting, sweet, and chewy. But I'd have to say, the butterscotch chocolate chip cookie might have been my favorite. It's such a great combination and is slightly crunchier than the other cookies. In the past I've also ordered the turtle cheesecake and chocolate raspberry tart. Both of these dishes had a sweet and crunchy crust that paired perfectly with the creamy filling. The cheesecake was served on a bed of caramel and chocolate sauce, which made it fun to swirl each bite around in. The raspberry sauce that came with the tart added the perfect amount of tartness to complement the decadent chocolate and sweet and fluffy whipped topping. The service here is great. My party ate out on the patio tonight and our server Abby was wonderful. She was very attentive and friendly. Our food was delivered quickly, but we never felt rushed. If you have the opportunity, I'd highly recommend dining here. They have a decently sized menu with a variety of unique dishes. You really can't go wrong with anything on the main menu or dessert menu. Westmoor also has a full bar, so you can order pretty much any cocktail you can imagine.

While dinner service went along, the DJ wand reception setup occurred above. No distraction at any time during the evening by the vendors.
