There's a playground, splash pad area with outdoor shower, giant tree house with slide, waterslide, and ziplining. You need to make reservations for the weekends but parking is free. When I came, the waterslide and splash pad area were closed for maintenance. But it was still pretty crowded for a Tuesday! Will definitely come back to check out the rest of the amenities.

It's huge, with scenic spots throughout, including several beautiful lakes that make for a peaceful place to walk around and enjoy the views. My favorite part is all the way at the end of the park, where it gets much more forested and peaceful. They have Swan Boats here! They look fun so I gotta try it next time. It's also a great spot for birdwatching. There are plenty of birds and waterfowls throughout the park, especially around the lakes and more wooded areas, so bring your binoculars or camera if you're into birding. Whether you're looking for a scenic walk, some quiet time outdoors, or a good place to spot birds, there's something for everyone here.

There are paved pathways so it's easy to push a stroller or to bike or roller skate throughout this park. There is a good amount of parking for your car depending on which park entrance you choose. There's lots of nature life and greenery here so it makes for a fun place to go on a walk or have a picnic with the family - there is both large grass areas available and a plethora of picnic tables.

It's backed up and center of the canyon mountains in the back. One of my fav new park. It's really nice here. Had a playdate here on Sunday 1.07.24. Has 2 pickle ball courts and a basketball. Great for bike riding around the park or walking. They have a gazebo w lots of tables and benches. When we came it was a bit breezy. Saw a few people bring kites to fly. Love that idea. Lots of field space to do that. I'll be bringing my kite here next time. Box Canyon Park has A *Little Library" available for a good read while spending time at the park or can donate a book if you'd like when coming here. Very clean park along w the restrooms and it's near the playground. Not far at all. They restroom only has 2 stalls in the women's bathroom. Has a soap dispenser. Only street parking available. And it's really well-maintained. The rubber mats aren't good shape. They have the areas pretty well separated for a little kids and big kids. You've got the big kid swings over by the big kids playground in the small kid swings over by the small kid playground in between there is a rock climbing station And a small little house with a dirt patch for kids to play in. Game changer though? Did someone say zip line? There was a line of kids waiting to give themselves a chance at swinging across the zip line. Definitely a new staple for the family. The display also showed $5 for weekends and $3 midweek. We wanted to do the Redwood trail and were directed to parking lot A. The park is big and beautifully landscaped with a pond and various picnic areas that can be rented in advance. There is enough space to set up all kinds of games. We brought a picnic lunch and sat on a bench that was perfectly situated alone amongst the desert plants. After lunch, we followed the signs for the Redwood Grove Trail which was labeled as easy and is a 1.5 miles dirt trail to the Redwood trees. When you arrive you'll see a small Redwood forest with the history of the trees displayed before you enter. A really beautiful and peaceful spot to relax for a bit. On our way back we decided to take the Creek Trail to see where it would lead us. I was hoping to see water at the end of this trail. But, we only saw a bunch of rocks at one point that may be filled with water if it rains. The end of this trail did lead us to a beautiful butterfly garden and the opposite end of the park. We made the walk back and stopped at the pond. There appeared to be other trails surrounding the park and a trail that leads to the Carbon Canyon Dam.

So just beware if you have a dog on leash or a toddler. Otherwise many friendly people. Good amount of parking but I know they hold games here sometimes in which case parking may be tight!
