I finally had the chance to come to this park. I've seen and heard great things about this park in our city. It's a neighborhood park that's pretty hidden since it's not out in the open. It's backed up and center of the canyon mountains in the back. One of my fav new park. It's really nice here. Had a playdate here on Sunday 1.07.24. Has 2 pickle ball courts and a basketball. Great for bike riding around the park or walking. They have a gazebo w lots of tables and benches. When we came it was a bit breezy. Saw a few people bring kites to fly. Love that idea. Lots of field space to do that. I'll be bringing my kite here next time. Box Canyon Park has A *Little Library" available for a good read while spending time at the park or can donate a book if you'd like when coming here. Very clean park along w the restrooms and it's near the playground. Not far at all. They restroom only has 2 stalls in the women's bathroom. Has a soap dispenser. Only street parking available. We were here for 2 hours and seemed like a lot to do for kids. Will definitely be visiting more in the future. Box Canyon park is a Win! read more

Wow this is such a great park! It's definitely hidden and in a really quiet neighborhood. Really nice houses near by. No parking lot so you have to park along the side of the street. This play area has 2 different playset. A large super inclusive castle like one & a smaller pirate ship one. Lots of grass to run around and I believe also a hiking trail. There was people playing what looked like tennis (but I know it's not) near by as well. It's just a really nice & clean park. My toddler definitely enjoyed it & we will be back! read more

Really nifty park tucked into the rocks. Lots of rattle snake warnings all over the park. Cute playground with tons to climb on but the play sets have a lot of drop offs so gotta keep an eye out on your active toddler. Large grassy area where lots of locals let their dogs off leash so beware. A basketball court with two mobile pickleball nets where I've seen people play in the mornings. But no area to contain the balls so they go everywhere. Not a lot of shade in this park other than the gazebo area and the little circle by the statue. Oh and no parking lot. Easily one of the best parks we've been to! Loved that it's enclosed, has plenty of space to run, and the structures were perfect for my two year old to get some energy out. Bonus. Evening comes with a beautiful sunset! read more

This is one of the coolest parks in Yorba Linda! Sure - it's a bit tough to get to... off the beaten path, in a neighborhood, up a hill... but once you're there. It's sprawling and varied and lovely. A butterfly garden is in one corner, spacious fields abound, ad the play structures are awesome for big and little kids. Plus, PICKLE BALL COURTS! There is a shade structure with tables and there are functioning restrooms. It's everything you could want in a city park. Very cool! read more

Amazing amazing park! They have a huge play structure that looks like a castle and pickleball courts! Playground is clean and in good condition. It is really nice playground with beautiful views of the hills. However, we went in February and it was hot. I would imagine in the summer it would be sweltering and with no shade in sight! Do kids come here in the summer? They need to build a shady spot over the playground because it's a sunburn waiting to happen if you play in that in anything over 80 degree weather. There is no parking lot which I was surprised about. Street parking was plentiful when I went but expect to break out your parallel parking skills. Lots of space to fly a kite, play basketball and ride bikes or scooters. Tables and benches for picnics available. Would return on a colder day. read more

What a fantastic park! There is so much for kids to play with and climb on. The structures feel larger than other parks and allow for parents to chase after little ones. Parking is available on the street. There's lots of grass to play on as well. The park has a small sidewalk area that runs through it so kids can ride scooters. They also have a restroom which is a huge bonus! We went with our 1 year old and 3.5 year old. There were definitely more older kids there, but still enough stuff for my little ones to climb on. read more

Nice Park located in the hills of Yorba Linda. Street parking. Park is great for toddlers and up. Accessible ramp is a great feature. Park is large with swings, two large play areas with padded grounds throughout, large greenery, and covered picnic area, basketball courts, and large rocks to climb on. Friendly kids and families. Such a nice park ! We are from Anaheim and wanted to check out a different park today. My 3 year old loved how it was huge pirate ship play area. Everything was perfect for his size and there was lots of friendly kids playing with him. There was also a cool little trail and lots of rattle snakes signs so beware. Upon leaving, we noticed a small birdhouse that had free books inside which was neat. Overall we would come back to this park ! read more

This park is great if you have kids and dogs. There is a really big grassy area and a huge play area. If you have little kids, especially more than one, it can be hard to watch them at this park. There are two large play structures that aren't exactly right next to each other. Plus, the larger play area has a loop to it that means you have to suck under pathways to get to your kids in the middle. Bigger kids can take care of themselves a little easier so it isn't too much of a problem once they are older. The park also has a big table area of hosting birthday parties. The park also has a multiuser basketball/tennis court. It is all surrounded by a paved path that is great for kids with bikes or if you want to get a good walk in. read more

Really nice park tucked away in the hills of Yorba Linda. Deceptively, there are industrial buildings along the way to get to the housing community that is by Box Canyon Park, which amplifies the feeling that you've found a hidden gem. So, this park has a basketball court, a walkway that surrounds a park and a playground for kids. The bathrooms require digital cards to unlock during non-operational hours but otherwise are open during the day. Place is clean and clearly well maintained. While the park is not too big, it is tucked away, a great place to take a break on the weekends or even have a picnic, or a place to jog through on your morning run. Would return if I'm in the area again. read more

Too hot and crowded. It is more of a 5 and under playground. There are a bumch of snake holes everywhere. The landscaping is really pretty but the trail behind is closed. read more

Beautiful park with an awesome ship playground. There are trees all over the park nut many of them aren't big enough to give substantial shade. There are also sheltered benches for parties and a few more benches in various parts of the park. There are 2 playgrounds, one for older and one for younger kids. The playgrounds have lots of fun features that are sure to keep the kids entertained. Besides the playgrounds there's a basketball court and bathrooms just a few steps away from the smaller playground. One thing I liked about this park is that the kids playground is towards the back of the park and away from the street. This park seems fairly new and well taken care of, and it looks like there were many founding families who came together to make this park beautiful. read more

LOVE Box Canyon!!!! Fun,clean, HUGE, and quiet. It does need shade though over the play area. The sun is too intense.

My kids always get so excited to go to the pirate ship park, its such a fun little place to spend an afternoon. They have a large castle-like play structure for bigger kids, and a smaller pirate-ship-like structure for toddlers to five year old's. They have a picnic structure perfect for parties, just no grilling due to high fire risk. Also a nice basketball court, and plenty of space to play catch on the grass. Bathrooms are nice and clean, with Dyson dryers, and more importantly, soap! Plenty of parking on the street. Bring your camera, lots of bunnies and bluebirds all over the place! The one con I have though and that is there's not enough shade (except for under the shelter which is huge). Even on cooler days, the sun gets intense, especially if you can't sit under the shelter or a tree. Bring plenty of sunscreen. Wish they had those triangle tarps over the playgrounds, it would make a huge difference. read more

Nice park in a nice area. Has a basketball court & a shaded picnic area. Has a playground for smaller kids themed like a pirate ship & one themed as a castle for bigger kids. I like that it isn't on sand or woodchips. The ground is the soft cork. There just isn't a ton of shade on the equipment & the trees aren't fully grown yet. Once all the trees grow it will be nice with all the shade. read more

This park is a hidden gem. It usually doesn't have many people and the playground is one of the best I've seen. So adorable and has the beautiful mountain scenery in the background. It's always super clean and has tons of areas to sit or picnic. read more

Really large park! Awesome! My 3 yr old and 22 mo old had fun. Foam mats, 2 bucket swing as well. Lots to climb and there's short slides as well as long ones. Great picnic area. No parking lot that I could find, you park on the street. Grass and courts, you can easily have scooters there or a soccer ball. Plenty to do and it feel safe because kids can't run towards moving cars as easily as some other parks. Will go back. If you go earlier in the day, wear sunscreen because the sun is right there. Will go back! I didn't see lights, so I'm not sure how well this park works towards sunset. read more
