Tried it out for the first time this afternoon. We live in downtown Denison so making the drive out to Pottsboro isn't usually on our list of to-dos but we had it recommended so we thought why the heck not. As a first time patron it was a little unwelcoming as we walked it. The divided space was a little confusing and nobody was there to greet us to let us know if we sat ourselves or not. Another patron actually told us to just take a seat. Fine but again, not amazing if it's your first time in. Shared a full quesadilla and got some tacos. Cokes were off but whatever, the meat in everything (steak quesadillas, chicken and carnitas tacos) seemed old from the day prior and DRY. Lacked flavor. My husband liked the beans and the guacamole was good. Our waitress only came back at the end to check on us. Glad we gave it a shot but we won't be back unfortunately. read more

Don't judge a book by its cover by this spot. This place is a must try! They do give a small cup of queso with your salsa and chips as a freebie. Any extra small cups are 99 cents. I ordered a barbacoa Taco and ot was absolutely to die for! Big scoop of meat and barely any fat if there was any I didn't notice. I also got the chicken enchilada plate and it was just as good! The portions are so generous you won't leave here hungry. My significant other got a burrito Supreme and let me say BRING YOUR APPETITE! The staff was kind and helpful and the cups were never empty. Food was slightly warm, not hot. Beef was very very ground up and low quality. Server was not attentive at all after the food came out. We had to ask another server walking by for our ticket, she informed us that it would all be one ticket. We had a group of 15, 4 separate payment methods. They refused to add up the total of each families meals separately so that we could pay for what we ordered. We were told it have to be divided by four so each family had to pay $74.50 a piece. We were very confused and trying to come up with a solution, Norma was rude and snappy and gave us no solution. This ended with some of us having to pay for more than what we ordered. We stopped by this place when we were in pottsboro. Complimentary Chips and salsa were pretty good. Queso is included as well. We order chicken enchiladas with sour cream and chicken enchiladas with queso. Both were served with rice and beans. Enchiladas were very good. Rice lacked any flavor and beans were little watered down. We also ordered Huevos ala mexicana and quesadilla for kids. Both were really good. Side of Fries were below average. read more

Some of you at Texoma may know me - I'm Doc_Texoma - former admin of the Texoma Party Pirates forums.. My girlfriend and I went up to talk to my boat mechanic (Steve Click if you need a GREAT mechanic!!!!) and decided to get something to eat. The point was just closing their buffet, and nothing at Highport is open yet. not even the "little" bar..... So we were rolling back towards pottsboro on Preston, thinking we would see if the old building where the Catfish place was had anything open. We ended up passing by Arroyos first, so we pulled in.... Inside is what you would expect of a strip center eatery - though they added some fun by using all different kinds of tables and chairs without matching them in any way... The people all seemed nice enough and since it was pretty empty we were served right away. They bring queso, and two kinds of salsa - the salsa was pretty sweet and tomato'y tasting to me - the queso was a block of velveeta with some pico or whatever added... We were both hungry so the queso was actually pretty satisfying. She got a michilada - i had tea.. nothing challenging there... The menu is mostly what you see at every oher mexican food place in north texas.. GF had tostados, and I had enchiladas with flautas added. Way better than chain places - but of course not Uncle Julios level or anything.. The menu prices reflected the stature of the place though and I will absolutely be back many many times after long days on the lake. Highly recommended.. read more

Secret little gem. This place was not on Yelp before we ran across it. Since, we have been here twice. Everything the fam has had was amazing. The burrito supreme is INSANELY large. Street tacos are legit. Like the two condiments they bring out, one green and one red. The trio of dips they bring with chips works. What a surprise in the middle of Pottsboro, TX. I'm a Mexican food snob and this was a great spot for sure especially in a place with just a few restaurants. We would absolute come back if we were in the area. My husband had the lunch chicken fajitas and of course so much food. I ordered the Beef Guisada which obviously as you can see was a meal for for two. Can't wait for leftovers tonight. Thank you to the lovely and friendly staff who was very accommodating and they have salsa verse and a chile arbol (spicy) salsa is you ask. We came in to celebrate my 21st Birthday and it was an absolute bust. The food was luke warm, the service was about nonexistent once the meals hit the table. I had to order my margarita 4 times before I got it. We then had to ask a lady in passing for our check. She then told us it would be all together and that she had told the person who made the reservation in advance, which was a lie. She also said she had told my mom when we first came in that it would be one check and she told her that we wouldn't be able to do that. The lady stated my mom said "that was fine" which is also a lie. We were very blindsided with this as some didn't come with much money. We were told it had to be evenly divided into 4 and they refused to let us individually pay for the meals we ordered. Resulting in some of us having to pay for more than what we ordered. The cashier was rude and refused to let me talk to a manager. She then tried to "better explain" as she moved us away from the front counter into the middle of the dining room while other customers stared and listened as she had attitude and waved her finger explaining that they could only do up to 4 custom payments we had no more than 4 different payment methods that we wanted to use. But refused to let us pay our individual meals and when I asked why she responded with "I don't know". I then asked to talk to someone who would know and she stated she was the one in charge of that area. Another customer tried to get involved as well saying "to give them a break, that they are a small town and aren't used to big parties" she tried to explain to us how to break it down to make it make sense to the cashier and once we explained how they were making us pay she didn't understand either. The family and I were visiting the area when we decided to try this place. From the outside this place looks questionable and drive-thru looks shady... but don't let that fool you! As someone mentioned in a prior post, this place is truly a hidden gem. I also want to note the customer service was excellent and the staff was very friendly (no rudeness here so I don't know what those other posts are talking about). I ordered the Caldo de Res and it was delicious! My family ordered the enchiladas (Red), Beef Fajitas, and kids chicken nuggets. Everyone really enjoyed their meal which says a lot since they're very picky when it comes to Mexican food. I'll definitely be coming back the next time I'm in town. read more

Our waitress was friendly and attentive, and the food was good. We were a party of 7 adults and 1 child, and all of us ordered tacos (except the child, who had chicken nuggets and fries). The barbacoa and carnitas tacos were good, and the other members of our party who had the tacos al pastor said they were good as well. It gets really loud as tables fill up, so keep that in mind. If you have a child that is sensitive to sound, this is not the place for you. read more

If you mess up cheese enchiladas or can't make them well you shouldn't be in business. They made excellent cheese enchiladas. My husband enjoyed his fajitas. The waitress was very attentive and never let us run out of chips and hot sauce. There were three couples that met for dinner last night. There were only two baskets of chips brought out to share and salsa too. With the COVID going around, each couple should have been separate. Ok the food was terrible. Couple 1 got nachos that were cold and bland. Couple 2 shared beef and chicken fajitas and when they came no sizzle, very cold. When our friend mentioned it, the waitress was rude and said she's not the cook. Not ONE time did she apologize and we had to ask for it to be corrected. Couple 3 that's me. I got a chili relleno with solid cheese inside it and a cheese enchilada that was the same. My wife got beef tacos that were cold as well. The margaritas were good, but easy to make. We first armrest here 8/2020 when we moved here and yesterday 11/21. I won't ever eat here again. The salsa is super weak, no kick. The queso is bland.
