Visiting the area we discovered this restaurant at the marina on Lake Texoma. What a wonderful experience. Fantastic atmosphere, good food , and very attentive service. The menu had good variety. My husband and I went to brunch there today, it was an amazing experience from the moment we walked in. Very fast and friendly service. We both ordered margaritas (that were fantastic) then we shared the island nachos with ground beef, which were so hot and fresh, some of best nachos we've had in a long time. As well as the Texas toothpicks, hands down the best fried jalapeños strips and onion petals we've had. It's just a fun open location right by the lake. We will definitely be back! read more

Went with girlfriends after kayaking. We split the "tacados" which were four avocado halves filled with taco meat and topping and the stuffed avocado appetizer. We had Caribbean salad and strawberry salads as well. All were good, salads were fresh. Service was good. Ambiance was fun and it was a great spot to come off the lake to grab a bite. read more

The outside (and inside ) was a lot nicer than what I expected. We've been to some lakeside dives. BUT you're going for the lakeside experience. We were pleasantly surprised when we pulled up (by car). We were seated outside quickly and it was a great afternoon. It would have been nice if they had had a cocktail menu and a beer menu. We ended up ordering a mimosa and a "Dallas IPA" which ended up being a Deep Ellum IPA which was fine. We also ordered the pulled pork tacos and the burger with sidewinders. Drinks came out quick as did the little wasps. They were so bad, we had to move tables. They were still bad. One took a deep dive into the beer can and we had to order another one (along with a cup and a lid with a straw...for beer). Food was OK but really, dodging the bugs was the worst. We ate carefully (after we also saw a wasp take a deep dive into the salsa). and left. Would return because the surroundings were great and food was above OK. I would give this place a 3.5-4, I think the 2.9 average is a little low for what I experienced, so I'm eating it a 4 to bring it up a little. The vibes of this place are amazing! The live music and the location right in the marina with outdoor lights and island themed decorations make for a fun dining experience! The staff is so friendly and accommodating! Reagan was our waitress and she was extremely kind, kept checking in on us, and overall did a great job. The food was like "bar food plus"... it was nothing extravagant and special and a bit overpriced, but still filling and satisfying. The vibes are like summer camp for adults. Eat there at your own risk! The chicken fingers were literally raw on the inside (see photo). We could not find our server to address the issue - he disappeared for almost 20 mins. We finally walked into the bar area and found another server, who went and got him. No manager even bothered to come by and apologize, and the server was very nonchalant about the whole thing. I hope the owner of the restaurant reads my review and looks back from seven years ago. The food is still completely awful. The menu is unbelievably horrible. I don't understand how a restaurant owner who owns several other locations in the Texoma area can put food out. The food here was awesome! The stuffed avocado was soooo good! The southwest egg rolls were really really good as well as the salads, hamburgers and fish tacos. The place is very very busy so you must have a good attitude ( there's a reason it's crowded) and patience. The band was good and the staff was nice and worked really hard to keep up with all the customers. Being right on the water was very nice; this is my go too place when I visit Lake Texoma. read more

The service was fantastic. Young lady brought drinks quickly and check on us regularly without being annoying. Nachos with pulled pork were very good (hard to beat queso!). Shrimp tacos were ok but wouldn't get again. Beer was cold. Sitting on the patio overlooking the water, not a better place to grab a bite. read more

This place is absolute garbage, I've been there 5 times in the last year that I've kept my boat at highport marina. Service-terrible, attitude of every employee we've encountered-terrible. The three times we've had a meal there it was a 3 hour ordeal. 30 minutes before someone asks what you'd like to drink, 30 minutes to get a water to you, once you've ordered your food will not come out right then it's attitude from the server instead of apologies, or excuses. Just tonight my wife, myself and my 22 year old daughter were told we could not sit at the bar because my daughter couldn't sit at the bar drinking her water without an ID. So she stood 5 feet from the bar and we were asked to leave with a condescending attitude. The staff is unhappy and it shows to the customers. In my 30 years of business. That's typically a leadership issue. I would not recommend to anyone I know. I'm embarrassed I've been naive enough to give them 5 chances to not screw up. Unfortunately, this place is run terribly. Unfortunate to have a good atmosphere with terrible food and rude service. What a success this place could be with good leadership. read more

On two occasions one in June and just recently in July. We have visited the island (right next to our house) and the service has been terrible. It takes over 15-20 mins to get seated (with empty tables everywhere) then takes 15-30mins to get drinks, and longer to get food. I love this place. Dining outside, viewing the water, watching TV, eating great food, having fun with family---that's five stars right there. My only complaint is the unladylike disembarking positions that I am forced into when we arrive. I'm not sure that's the restaurant's fault. Plus, it's not going to keep me from coming back. In 2022 the Island has upped there game. In past experiences I was not always satisfied but the several times my wife and I visited this place in 2022 we were completely satisfied as the food was great and the service was awesome. Definitely recommend you try this place out! read more

Enjoying the surrounding lake texoma area we came here for dinner-- Burger and sidewinders (fries) and my son had a corn dog and sweet potato fries. The burger was gross... this was a frozen patty, still with freezer burns-- normally I wouldn't have touched it but I was starving, meat tasted like it was frozen burger, definitely not fresh. I can somewhat understand being a restaurant in pottsboro logistics may be difficult. My son loved his corn dog and fries-- this would be a great place to just knock back drinks-- there's parking for boats outside and the restaurant is adjacent to a marina. Service was really great-- fast and efficient, drinks were always kept full. Looks like this is place to be on the lake for drinks and entertainment. read more

Ok. So I spoke to Kevin and told him the issues I had. Told me to let him know next time I came in. I am here. Will tell him once I pay. So the menu has gone back to traditional. Good call. Bar food and drinks to accompany with some healthy salads. Nice staff. Still a little slow on the kitchen side despite a slow night. The chicken wings were lemon pepper and were cooked well. Dressing was std ranch and the vegetables ok. The spinach salad was nice size with good ingredients. Missed the avocado....but nice. The chicken sandwich was overcooked. Very overcooked. Waitress (Nicole) was very nice and attentive. Apologized right away and took care of us. The 3 stars are a reflection of the effort, staff and the improvements. I will tell Kevin. read more

Won't go back when I asked to speak to the manager it was the same person that took her shoe off and she made excuse after excuse even after i told her there was no excuse for her actions. We've tried to eat here several times as it's the only restaurant with boat parking open most of the time. It's generally one level below water-boarding in terms of experience. The music is so loud it's impossible to have a conversation without yelling. The service consists many young people milling around doing everything they can to look busy yet avoid working. We sat for 20 minutes with zero acknowledgment from anyone after being seated. I had to walk to the bar and interrupt a group of servers avoiding work to ask them who has our table. They looked very inconvenienced, but eventually after what looked like a mental game of rock papers scissors the loser made her way over. The rest of the experience was the average frozen fried lake food garbage most places tend to serve. This is an example of mediocre management not training or managing young staff imo. But it's all good if you just want to chill and drink margaritas. Head to the Point, the Pelican, or one of the Oklahoma restaurants if you are interested in a decent dining experience. read more

This afternoon we wanted to get out of the house, so we went to a place on Lake Texoma we had never frequented: The Island at Highpoint. The temperature was hot, but the open-air flow was quite refreshing. We had a 4-minute wait but were seated at a lovely high-top table where we could see the live band playing. The music was good. Our wait person came and took our drink order. We then ordered fried catfish and fries. The building was full but not packed. It was about 2:45 pm on a Sunday. The fish came with two nice filets. The fries were salted but not spicy, which was to our liking. We noticed that 95% of the wait staff, young ladies, all, did not smile. The bride opined that they must be concentrating and busy. The Island is a regular stop for us on weekends. Live music on weekend evenings is the bomb! The wait staff is friendly and responsive. Katie at the bar is a top shelf member of the Island team, high energy and high spirited. The menu is full of tavern style appetizers and entrees and has been updated from last year. It offers choices that are sure to please young and old alike. We love the bacon wrapped shrimp, Island burger and Catfish basket! The seasoned fries are great and a good compliment to many of the entrees. I had the Homemade chicken salad sandwich last trip in and it was delicious. If you're hungry from a day on the water or just looking for a place to go for lunch or dinner on the water, this is a great choice. read more

Awesome views and location ... worst food however! Natchos were truly disgusting and high price! I fed the plate to the ducks, geese, turtles and fish. The fried food was very greasy ... kitchen and munu items need serious attention people! I doubt that the manager nor the owner eat here! So sad because the rest is terrific and just little attention to food prep and recipe could make a big difference. Never eating here again but may be back for drink on the deck. read more
