The teachers are some of the best in their field. They are active and involved and teach and correct like you truly matter to them. The highlight of the summer was having the opportunity to learn from and dance with Lauren Anderson! I ended up taking dance at UH for the fall semester, so unfortunately I have not been back to dance here. The owner and founder, Sherese Campbell, taught the ballet class we were in. She's inspiring and really makes you want to dance better. The students are awesome, some of them are City Dance Company dancers and they are just as inspiring. Our summer intensive class ranged from teenagers to adults in their 30's-40's. The summer intensive classes are cool because you do (for example) ballet one week and hip-hop another week (for the first 1.5 hours) and then like yoga or tap for the second 1.5 hours. Intensive classes are usually from 9 AM - 3 PM, but I only went from 9 AM - noon and it was $150/week vs. $250/week. Currently don't have time/money to take intensive classes again, but would love to go back soon. It's pretty convenient if you live near Rice/ West U. If you are unsure about anything or have reservations, Sherese is always willing to help and encourage you!

The actors and director did a magnificent job. The "talk back" following the show was most informative. The theater is intimate, every seat has a good view and the space is used well. Seating is very intimate with only two sections of three small rows of surprisingly comfortable seats. I watched the second night of Crimes of the Heart here with a group of friends. There's donation-based concessions. The actors and actresses played their roles phenomenally and made for a gripping show that teetered the edge between comedy and tragedy. Huge props to them and the director for a really fun experience. Highly recommend for a date night or just a new experience!

Sunday 10/18/15 One of the most magical and amazing shows…read moreI've been to in a LONG time. I grew up watching the movie and reading the books of Peter Pan and it's a classic. I'm so glad that the Society for Performing Arts decided to do a show on Peter Pan. My heart started to get all big and warm and I was smiling the entire time. Every scene brought back so many memories. The actors were great and the show was fantastic. I was sitting next to a toddler and I couldn't help but laugh because with the crazy scenes, the kid was at the edge of his seat. I couldn't stop smiling. Parking is tricky. It's $15 at the lot. There's street parking but you'll be walking far. The place was a little hard to get to, because of the direct address. Make sure you go to the tent that's DIRECTLY in front of the freeway, otherwise the GPS will take you BEHIND a building. A friend and I found cheap tickets through Living Social. Way cheaper than Groupon and walk-in ticket sales. Make sure to go while the show is going on!

Tickets can be pre-purchased…read moreonline or at the door, but I suggest buying ahead since popular shows do sell out (especially the Festival of the Originals). Parking here is quite difficult, and often people park parallel opposite of the theater. They will be moving locations soon to somewhere more scalable, which is very exciting! Seats are very intimate, with the front row being feet away from the actors. Every play I've seen here has been very entertaining and the volunteer cast members are clearly dedicated!

Once down stairs, we found a nicely appointed seating area, with tastefully painted walls. The restrooms were nice. In one corner was a small bar serving wine and drinks and with shelves hosting supplies. The theater is quite small and intimate. I was there for a performance of "Tigers Be Still", which was a great show and conducive to the theater's style. The seats are in an L-shape around 2 sides of the stage. The seats were comfortable and the staff were friendly.
