Live and learn, right? So, I ended up throwing $500 out the window because I did not know that if Wrench doesn't check something to see if it works or not, they just replace. I was told my alternator needed replacement, but after the wrench employee did that was when I was told nothing was wrong with my alernator, it was the starter. If this is a service you NEED to use, be SURE of what needs fixing prior. I wasn't going to waste my time arguing with the mechanic, I wanted to know what I needed to do to get my car fixed. Based on previous reviews, I called Chris and explained the problem I was having with my Ford flex not starting intermittently. It was already looked at by one mechanic and I wasn't satisfied with the "Not sure but we can try this, and if not that then we'll go for the more expensive fix". I thought I needed a second opinion. I wasn't really interested in throwing darts at it at a few hundred dollars a try. Chris was willing to spend some time on the phone with me and go through a couple of quick troubleshooting things over the phone. We were not able to diagnose the problem, but he did give me some specific things that he thought it could be. Based on his list, I started watching YouTube videos and checking the things he had suggested. It ended up being the security system disabling the engine from starting, though it cranked, because it was a problem with the key fob communicating with the car. I had never even thought of this and he was right. I got a six dollar battery for the key and it's been starting right up. I sent Chris several texts about the service that I wanted done to my VW Jetta wagon. Chris was responsive to every one. He showed up on time and ready to work. If I could give him over 5 stars, I would give him over 9000 stars. Chris is so knowledgable when it comes to cars. I had a 2005 BMW X3 with a bad starter. Initially I had another mechanic look at it, but he didn't seem very confident for the job, so I called up Chris. My first impression is that he really knows what he is talking about. Not only that, but he's super friendly and honest compared to auto shops. It turned out that replacing the starter for my car had to have half the engine removed and it sounded like a terrible mess. He walked me through the entire process so I could get a broad idea of what was going to happen to my car. The job seemed INCREDIBLY TOUGH. No wonder the other mechanic seemed uncertain about fixing my car. Even when the job seemed tough, he was still willing to do it. Chris is an exceptionally hard worker. He worked all throughout the night, starting from around 8pm to 8am. As he worked, he would take pictures and send them to me. Along the way, he found some pipes near the air sensor that were old and worn, so he fixed those for me too. Also, he gave me advice on changing the air filter since it was getting rather dirty. In the end, my car ran extremely well and the engine started up in a heartbeat. In fact, it ran better than ever. I don't remember my car ever running so smoothly. Chris doesn't just work on your car and give you a fixed final product. He goes through a whole process and it's a great learning experience. Not only is he an exceptional mechanic, he acts as a great consultant and he makes the entire process friendly and easy to understand. Compared to other auto shops in OC, they would probably charge you an extra arm or a leg for things you didn't even ask them to do. Chris is honest and I had no worries of getting hustled. Stay Away!!! They keep saying that they will have "service call me" so I can have my car fixed. Its been over a week and they do not reach out. I called multiple times and each time they say the same thing. My last call, the "dispatch" got loud with me because I asked to speak to a manager to have it scheduled. She stated "they always call when I schedule it". That is not helpful. Very bad internal process that has gaps and bottlenecks that screws over the customer. read more

I can't say enough how impressed I was with his thoroughness - he stayed until almost 3am to make sure my car was fixed. Outside of getting my car started, Chris took the time to show me each minor issue I had with my car as well as giving an HONEST assessment about the priority for taking care of each issue. I usually don't write reviews, but I felt compelled to write one after reading one particular negative review. Cris has been working on my vehicles for the last couple of years (preCovid and during the Covid). Cris is honest, dependable, extremely knowledgeable and he is very fair with his pricing. A couple of years ago, my father-in-law handed down his 98 Dakota truck to me and it was not in the greatest condition. Let me be honest, the truck was in very bad shape. After panicking for 30 seconds because I couldn't get to an auto shop since it was towards the end of the day and I had to work the next day, I called Chris to come over. I was stranded at home with a car I attempted to fix myself and realized fairly quick I was in over my head. Took a chance and went with a mobile mechanic and I can say without exception I now know a mechanic I would recommend to my family and friends with confidence. It can be very difficult to find an HONEST mechanic. Some will rip you off by charging you for parts you don't need with up to a 400% mark-up. I recently experienced that with 2 different auto repair shops. If you want an honest skilled mechanic then you should read the rest of my post. My AC was not turning in my 2010 Nissan Altima. I was able to isolate the problem to a faulty compressor clutch. I did not have a floor jack, stand, or the proper tools to replace it, so I took my car to Temecula Nissan for servicing, but they did not carry, or sell just the clutch assembly which was a $40 part, so Nissan wanted to replace the entire compressor at a cost of about $1200 not including labor. I offered to provide a new clutch for them to install, but they declined to take on the job. I then called a local automotive AC shop and they also wanted to replace the entire compressor. I then decided to call Chris at Wrench Mobile. I figured my best bet to have just the clutch replaced was with a mobile mechanic who did not have the overhead of having a brick and motar shop, so he did not need to sell me a part I did not need at a 400% mark up. Mark showed up on time and was very friendly. Removing the single bolt that held the clutch on the compressor spline turned out to be a very hard job because Nissan used loctite and a recessed allen head bolt instean of a traditional hex bolt. Because of the loctite the allen head stripped, but Chris was eventually able to remove the bolt showing great skill, resourcefulness, and patience. He then was able to quickly install the new clutch assembly along with a new serpentine belt. Unfortunately Chris spent 5 times what he estimated to complete the job because of that stubburn bolt, but he would not accept a penny more for what he quoted ($235) for the job showing he is an honest mechanic with great integrity. Chris took on a job the dealership and a local auto ac shop would not, or could not do saving me over $1500. additionally I found Chris to be a exceptionally intelligent, fun, and interestig person to talk to. I really enjoyed the time spent with him while he worked on my car. I will definitely be using Chris for the majority of my car repairs in the future, and I highly recommend him. Don't waste your time, and pay for parts you don't need by going to a dealership for costly repairs when Chris can come to your home and repair your car without trying to rip you off. The AC in my car is now cold enough to hang meat, and I'm chillin like a Polar Bear. Thank you Chris! read more

I was hesitant at first to approach a mobile mechanic as well, however I can say that Chris is one of the best mechanics I've ever seen. He is very knowledgeable, fun to talk to while he's working on your car, and MOST importantly he is TRUSTWORTHY. My biggest concerns prior to going to a mobile mechanic was that they didn't have their own shop or might have been unprofessional. I saw him do the work myself, and he showed me what was wrong with my car and why it needed fixing. He also gave me a very good price, and held onto his quoted price even though the work took a little longer than he thought it'd take. Most importantly, I he responded to my call quickly and scheduled an appointment just the day after since I had an emergency. He told me what parts to buy beforehand that he thought I'd need, and offered to drive over to the autoshop and pick up any extra parts he would've needed. All in all, I would highly recommend Chris to all my friends in the area. Pros: CHEAP! Trustworthy Great mechanic work Can see the work being done yourself, have have everything explained Cons: Buying your own parts (cheaper than at autoshops anyways, and you can pick out the quality of parts you want- but still a little bit of a hassle) Scheduling an appointment - It was a little difficult to get ahold of him at times, but he would return calls when he had the time. read more

He answered my call at midnight staying true to his 24/hr time :P He offered to drive to me to check my car out, the only problem was that I was leaving the next morning to go camping. I saw his glowing reviews and decided he seemed like a trustworthy person to leave my keys with (my suggestion not his) so we agreed I would leave my keys and money under the passenger mat. Cris recently completed a pre-purchase car inspection when I was looking to buy a car in Murrieta. I live in the LA area and Cris was able to schedule the service for me on the same day I called. As we were driving to Murrieta, Cris gave me a call and let me know that he had inspected the same car two days before and could send the report via text to go over with us. To have my work truck repaired at home is very valuable and convenient for me as I use my truck throughout the day for work and leaving it at a mechanic for a few days or more can have an affect on my business. Cris was kind to accommodate me and work around my schedule which is much appreciated. My truck engine was " sputtering " and diagnosing proved to be a time consuming and detailed process. After spending several hours carefully troubleshooting the issue he explained to me several of the eight spark plugs needed replacing but notified me doing so was abit risky ; plugs could possibility snap off , considering the make , model and year of my truck. Cris took the time to lubricate( over night ), all eight spark plugs and returned the following afternoon to continue the repair.
