they restored an antique lamp for me and i was blown away by the quality of the workmanship. It is really amazing in the lamp is perfect.

Geriatric crime syndicate. Unfortunately at best it's a larp. At worst a rehearsed scam, with bad actors. I had 4 coin op machines there for 1 month charged me several grand and he is 0 for 4 on getting any to power on and function. He simply doesn't know how to do it, it's straight forward stuff I gave him two Wurlitzer 1100s I have a lot of experience and different collaborations/ colleagues in doing this but limited time and lots of inventory so I am always looking for new helpers. Also have older generations of family members who I grew up around working on coin op some which worked as slot and arcade techs, so I'm pretty familiar with the game. This was my first experience using him for coin op restoration, though I have worked with several other companies here in Las Vegas and honest people who make up for this sort of plague in our community. He first lied and said he had extensive experience in repairing such machines only to reveal later he did not and only knows cosmetic repairs once the machines arrived in his possession. After charging thousands of dollars, one month in no luck he says in turning any of them on yet, and he then tells me it's maybe a "bad idea to fix them after all" and tried to lowball me and buy them all for a couple hundred bucks. A fraction of the money I paid him, when I disagreed he started yelling and clenching his fists, picked up a razor (never a good escalation idea when arguing about anything) and getting in my face. Keep in mind a 1100 is like 10k-15k when pristine, the few grand of money he charged for not getting them to work wasn't enough... he wanted the equivalent of a down payment on a 6 bedroom home, all at my expense and loss. He tried to proposition me on this one day after being fired. This was one day after charging me 1200 for a used speaker he didn't even assemble, and a glass that he put on a pinball machine that (guess what, he also returned to me unrepaired). I hired a real professional to assess his work today potentially for a future court date, the glass isn't even the right size it covers the screw holes and makes it impossible to screw in and mount the glass on the machine. It's also broken and looks like he got it from a junkyard. Tries to swindle own customers... again keep in mind he is 0 for 4 on coin op restoration for me personally. Negative -1 if you include the one he dismantled and returned in a hundred pieces, worth far less now than the condition he received it in, with missing parts. He managed to drill holes and clean around the coin tray or whatever may have been in it and aside from those holes he drilled into the locks I don't see anything else done. that's really about it, not including the few grand he got out my pockets. He told me "we all learned a valuable lesson here today" on my way out, that lesson for me is quite simply take heed of all these 1 star reviews and by do not by any means bring your loved items, prized possessions and other valuables that you care about here unless you want to risk destroying them, having them held hostage for additional spontaneous invoices as you schedule to pick them up more broken than before. the other negative reviews are indeed entirely true and 100 percent accurate to my own experience; and then they milk you for whatever they think you can afford, if they think you can't afford it they'll ask what your credit card limit is. Lots of red flags aside from these other 1 star reviews. I told him stop repairs yesterday after he sent me a 700 invoice that I paid, today when I went to pick the machines up after paying and telling him to stop what he is doing since he is 0 for 4 in 1 month, he started yelling and trying to coerce me telling me I shouldn't go into these things if I can't afford to blindly pay him without any results, then he charged me an additional $500 to release the machines back to me. Few grand in total and all 4 machines are not functional: 0 for 4, avoid avoid avoid ! Trap. I asked him would he start by cosmetic instead of mechanical repairs on his own machines (which by the way he owns only one and it's broken in his shop) he said yes I pointed to it and asked why not replace the sticker decals and he again started bullying and acting belligerent as if that takes the attention off of him being a scammer. By the way this all happened on the first of the month, go figure... those invoices were sent to me on the 30th and first of the month. Perhaps some bad financial planning as well. Super unprofessional all together everytime I have been there he has a homeless sweatshop working for him for meals, turning in their findings exploiting them for free or beneath minimum wage labor. All around ridiculous behavior and no respect or empathy. Spoke to pro appraisers and found out that he also sold me fake reprinted photographs and a modern replica Chiparus sculpture and lied and said they're original. read more

See photos of their COMPLETED work including miscut glass that doesn't even fill the frame, large gaps in all four corners of a frame, tape on the back so badly misplaced that it's visible from the front, no mounting hardware added to the back (even though it was there beforehand). Their work was paid for by the moving company whose truck overturned. We had been told by the moving company they would pay for full restoration, but they found this sleazy company who was willing to do a lackluster partial job and to ignore the chips and scuffs and everything else caused by the accident. I messaged about the poor quality of the work and asked what he was actually contracted to do vs. not ( assuming it could only be that bad because his hands were tied by the moving company who hired him). He didn't respond until I kept pressing, and when he did respond he then blamed me for his own poor work! See included screenshots of our text exchange. Continue reading for additional details... It gets worse! We had four pieces of framed art and a lamp that were all busted up when the moving company's truck got into an accident on the way to Las Vegas. They were in excellent condition prior to the accident. The owner of the moving company told us he would cover their full restoration and found Art & Antiques Restoration of Las Vegas. They contacted us about picking up the pieces. When they were picked up, it was not by an employee but by a Task Rabbit who had no idea what she was picking up or why. So, I had to give thousands of dollars of art to a complete stranger with no form, no signature, no accountability whatsoever. Thankfully, they were delivered to the shop without a problem. I was called a few days later saying the work was finished and my wife and I picked everything up in the evening. The pieces were partially wrapped for transportation. It just so happened the wrapping covered the parts that were so poorly done. The owner did not offer to show us the finished product before turning them over to us. There was nowhere in his shop to show us. It is extremely cluttered and messy with items leaning against other items, and so on. (I see another comment from someone whose vase was kicked over. It doesn't surprise me at all given the state of the shop.) When we got the pieces home, we noticed the poor quality work immediately, but because the moving company (Brian) was the responsible party, we initially tried to contact them to resolve the situation. We eventually gave up on the moving company helping and contacted these guys directly. I was expecting to get something like "sorry to hear that, why don't you bring them back here and we can take care of it." Instead, he accused me of "hardnosing" him and went on to blame me for much of the damage saying it was due to my "neglect" even though they had just been in a 70 mph crash. ??? I explained further and he told me I had waited too long to voice my concerns and he tried to pass off his awful work as my fault for perhaps dropping them afterwards (which I did not - why would I do that?) And how does that explain the things I complained about, like miscut glass? Or large gaps in all four corners of a frame? Or missing mounting hardware? Or misplaced tape? It's outrageous. You and your art and antiques deserve better care. As did mine. And these guys don't deserve your business. Literally, you could do better by taking your items ANYWHERE but here. I didn't choose to do business with them. But others have and they have issued similar warnings afterward about disastrous work and unscrupulous business practices. Listen to them. Go elsewhere. DO NOT BRING YOUR STUFF HERE! Under no circumstances would I recommend this place for anybody seeking to have glass work done. Learn from me! There was one other negative review and I should have paid attention before going down there. I'm sure he will come on here and try to make an excuse of some sort but I do not care and will not be checking it. Nothing he can say can fix the damage that he has done to something very important sentimentally to my family. Full details below: I brought my mother's vase here, which did have a broken bottom. (See photos) It was still intact and salvageable/able to be turned into something else. All I wanted to have done was to have some sort of a wooden base put on the bottom. He assured me he would send me pictures of some ideas and then I could make a decision. Fast forward a week, he texted me said that he already put something on... he hopes I'll like it. WTH? But fine, then I go and it looks HORRIBLE (like a fifth grade art project). He put some brass bottom on that was ornate and looked horrible. Filled the interior with glue. And I told him under no circumstances did I want it to look like that. He also added a gold piece to the top which I did NOT ask for. So I told him to take it all off. He tried to take it off and told me that the base broke in half and he was going to send it to somebody to try and fix it. I said NO I DON'T WANT THAT, I WANT MY VASE BACK. He told me he would not give it back to me because he wanted to try and fix it. WHAT?? I said I don't even know this other person, I want my vase back, let me have it back, and see what can be done on my own. He STILL refused to give it back to me and wouldn't tell me where it went. I gave him a timeline of 5 days to get it back to me. I came in today and he says that "the guy really let him down". Whoever he had work on my vase shattered it into a million piece, then proceeds to throw away most of the pieces so I can't even have the pieces of the vase back. He hands me a different vase and says "here I hope it'll make things right". I told him I didn't want this vase, the other was sentimental and important to my mother. I did not curse or scream at him even though the situation absolutely warranted this. I did however tell him that I thought his work was horrible and that he should give me a refund. He proceeds to tell me he couldn't give me the money right now. So I said fine if you're that hard up for $160, keep it. I took the vase that he offered because my sister hopefully will be able to break this vase into pieces and use it to turn into something that we can offer our mother without her knowing that her original vase isn't there. 10 out of 10 do not recommend this place at all! Unprofessional, his refusal to give me back my property - right then I should have called the police but I didn't listen to my gut and now this is what I am left with. (See photos for the original that I brought in versus what I left with today). I wish I would have taken a picture of the work he did on the vase it looked awful! I do have a photo that I will attach of when they were soaking it to try and pull the crap off that he added. While taking apart a statue, I dropped an arm on the floor, which broke it in half. I brought the arm and the head (which had a previously broken & missing piece) to Art & Antique Restorations for repair. A week later, the arm was repaired like new and the missing piece on the head was recreated from scratch with a perfect paint match. Excellent work! I took a vase that I had purchased in Delft, Netherlands which was in about 15 pieces when I got home. Lee put it back together and Danny painstakingly painted it to match the original hand painting. POOR BUSINESS PRACTICES. Nicholas Valenti with Art & Antiques of Las Vegas also has Campbell's Estate Gallery same address, same phone number and conducts estate sales in the Las Vegas Valley. We purchased an expensive piece of furniture on Saturday and were instructed to return on Sunday for pick up although we wanted to take it with us. Upon our return we were told the item was sold after we had already purchased and paid for the item. We reminded him and provided our receipt. Nicholas informed someone must have lifted the SOLD TAG as the item was resold and taken. He did provide the cash reimbursement. STILL we wanted the furniture we purchased - NOT a refund!!! Such business practice is unacceptable. BEWARE when purchasing any furniture at these estate sales. read more
