Pretty cool art and framing shop in Melrose Hill/Oakwood area neighborhoods of Los Angeles. I have a friend who lives less than a block up, so when I stopped by to visit him a strolled through Art & Framing Gallery as well really in awe of all the amazing art they have. It's like going to an art show! They even have some sculpture and bronze art and I believe at one point they offered tours of their space... Not sure if they still do (the feature on their website is not available.) The prices are moderate, but the quality for frame work is top notch. I wanted to get one of the movie paintings they had, but I'm often on foot. I really should've asked about delivery (I don't believe it's offered, but I could be wrong). Street parking on Western Avenue and along residential streets. Open everyday until 6PM, early mornings and the later half of the afternoon seem best, less traffic and more parking. Take your time and take in all the art! Prices vary with size of art or frame and they do quite a wide range... Not just large pieces. Every time I pass by this place, can't believe I got scammed by this people. The place is fraud, stay away. They charged me $200 to frame a small painting with a single plain frame. Few streets down I was able to frame a bigger painting with a double frame for $50. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place! read more

Walked in asking for a price on a frenchie painting . Old guy tells me original price is $2,000 but for me it is $1,000. I say thank you then price is $900. I say thank you again and price is $800. Old guy insist it's worth that much and then price drops to $700. I'm trying to leave politely and then price drops to $600. I'm in the car and he's screaming $500. At this point I wouldn't pay $1 due to the fact that he hits you really high at first like it's a joke especially in that area. Very disappointed in this place . Honestly it's over priced so don't fall for it. read more

YOUNG GIRLS BEWARE. I'm in my very early 20's and I came here because I'm an art lover and was drawn to the beautiful pieces outside. The 2 men inside seemed very sweet but one of them took me to the back section to see the painting he thought "reminded him of me" and it was a woman with wet red lips & he kept touching me physically and even told me he knew I liked him because I wasn't recoiling away. I just thought he was a sweet touchy old man but he literally confirmed to me that he was "testing" me & said he would like to have a physical relationship with me. I didn't even know how to react and it didn't hit me the danger and uncomfortableness of the situation fully until I finally mustered enough courage to just leave when he got a call to distract him. read more

I feel like I have struck gold wandering into this place. Was driving home and saw a huge painting that I had a cheap poster version of in my house. I had to stop by to check it out. Came back the next day to pick it up. Everyone that works here is very personable and gets to know you first before they start throwing prices at you. They were not overbearing and weren't forcing me to buy anything. They gave me a great deal and said sleep on it. They built me a custom frame so that the art would look PERFECT and it DOES. Decided to walk into this place out of interest in one painting, turns out they have so many different styles and sizes to choose from. When I walked in salesman asked a series of questions and they immediately found a black and white painting fell in love with. They let my son be part of the framing process, which was so much fun!
