Ultimately, she let the maintenance man run everything and turn the resort into his own personal playground. He closed one bathroom and one shower for his personal use in the off season. There are only 2 of each in the whole resort. Then he altered the water heater to the remaining shower so you would only get about 5 min of hot water. The daughter would harass all the longterm tenants. We weren't allowed to talk to our neighbors. We weren't allowed to tell anyone we lived there. We weren't allowed to have the basics outside (hang up wet swimwear, a fire pit, bikes, etc.) that anyone who was just spending the weekend would have. She would constantly tell us that she could get rid of us anytime. When the parents took over, they erased everyone's reservation and didn't inform us, putting our lots up for rent on the website. They doubled the rent a day before it was due. They harassed my autistic children by insulting me in front of them when I wasn't there, and chasing them out of a park-wide celebration. Whenever my kids dumped the waters, they would give them a sideways stare making my kids uncomfortable and one too scared to leave the RV. I even spoke to multiple people who were just staying the weekend, and they told me how terrible the owners have been to them. They have been telling us for years that they are getting sewer hookups. The site pictures even show sewer hookups, when there are none. Just a pipe cover in the ground. The resort is next to the water and the county will not allow sewer lines that close to the water. So, if they tell you hookups are coming soon, just know it's not true. DO NOT give your money to these people. This resort is run by a billionaire family who owns the mountain. They don't need the money and you don't need the headache. If you want a place to relax, you will not find it here.

Do not be fooled by the beautiful pictures they post online--those are from years ago when the park first opened. Today, this place is a neglected, hazardous dump run by a toxic, completely unprofessional management team. We moved in on December 27th, renting a lot and an 18-foot camper for $750/month. We were assured it was "move-in ready." That was a blatant lie. On our first day, I opened the fridge/freezer combo, and hundreds of German cockroaches fell out of it like Niagara Falls. It required three separate bug bombs just to make the place semi-livable. On top of that, Mario, the manager, left a whole turkey in the freezer that thawed out and leaked putrid turkey juices all over the appliance. There was also absolutely no hot water because the water heater had a massive crack in it. It leaked so severely that it saturated the floor, causing the kitchen floor to visibly sag. When they finally came to "fix" the water heater, they smashed a massive hole in the side of the camper and just left it wide open. Because of their negligence, my cat escaped, and my girlfriend and I spent three agonizing days waiting for him to return. Thankfully, he did. The windows were also broken and just covered with cardboard and tape, and the sink was completely backed up because the previous tenant had dumped a hoard of pennies down the drain. When I confronted the manager, Mario, about these biohazards and structural failures, he didn't offer to fix them immediately. Instead, he coldly offered a refund. He knew exactly what he was doing--he put us in a position where we either had to live in a roach-infested, broken camper or be homeless. We had to stay and watch them take their sweet time doing bare-minimum repairs. When anyone has a legitimate issue with the park, Mario gets incredibly rude, nasty, and aggressive. If you express how unhappy you are with the conditions, management's official response is literally: "Don't like it? Move." Management is rarely even on-site--maybe once or twice a month--but they sure know how to cause drama. They constantly spread lies around the park claiming we weren't paying our bills, which is defamation. We have every single receipt proving we have paid on time, every single month. Furthermore, the utility situation is a massive rip-off. There is only one meter for the entire park. Management leaves the lights on and the AC blasting at 68 degrees constantly in common areas, and because of the single meter, the tenants are forced to split the bill for their energy waste. You are also paying out of pocket for "amenities" like a laundry room that should be covered. The park looks like absolute shit. The boat dock is in such disrepair it will literally ruin your boat if you try to use it. Worse than the infrastructure is the total lack of safety. They will let anyone move in here, including active drug users and people with violent, dangerous criminal records. To give you an idea of how dangerous this place is, I accidentally butt-dialed the police once. When the cop arrived, he literally told me that they get so many emergency calls for this park--ranging from domestic abuse to drug issues--that they are forced to come out and physically verify everyone is okay, even for a confirmed accidental dial. The police are fully aware of how awful this place is. There is also zero confidentiality. Management acts friendly to get your money, but once you are locked in, they treat you like garbage and spread your personal business. They literally told brand-new tenants intimate, private medical details about a resident living here with cancer. It is deeply disrespectful, unethical, and disgusting behavior. They trap you, lie about you, neglect the property, and treat you like absolute shit. For the love of God, stay the hell away from Lakeside Haven RV Resort and Mario.

We went to coconut cove today and I was not impressed. It was very dirty. Grime everywhere,…read morewashers/nuts on the ground in the play area, the little foam blocks were missing the part that actually connects (ripped or bitten off), and the play balls we're grey with grime. I know kids are tough on things, but it was dirty and it's not safe to have screws or washers or nuts laying on the ground. Which on landed on me about 9 times so I was thrilled they could help me make sure I didn't take any hitchhikers out with me. It's definitely more kid and family friendly but I do enjoy going on my own and learned some things from the signs. Very pretty space too. The fossil space had a lot of information and I like their put together info about when the animal lived, where fossils were found and more information about the period the animal lived in.

Here are just a handful of the most egregious offenses we suffered (mind you, as guests) at the hands of these clueless [redacted]s: * Upon arriving at the garden gazebo (utterly devoid of people), a half hour before the ceremony, we were greeted by (one of) the wedding planner(s?). When we inquired where everyone was, she didn't know. We asked if the ceremony was being at this garden gazebo, to which she replied something to the effect of "maybe, or one of the other ones". First off, there are no other ones. There was the waterfall area, where the reception was to be held later, but wh didn't she know that? Why did she have no clue whatsoever what was going on? * The ceremony was supposed to begin at 4:00 PM; by 5:00, the planners had gotten their shit together, things started happening. * Two employees, loudly chatting and pushing a large dumpster, just on the other side of a wall of trees (partially visible, and entirely audible), just as the couple were reciting their vows. Complete lack of spatial awareness! * Ceremony ended around 5:30; time to transition to the reception area, by the waterfall. The food, which should have been prepared prior to, or during the ceremony, didn't arrive until after 7:00 PM, leaving everyone hungry and anxious for nearly two hours. * The food was arranged buffet-style, on a single table (should have been at least two), and guests were allowed to serve themselves (save for the prime rib, which was carved sparingly by a single person), while no less that four (and sometimes as many as SIX) venue staff stood behind the table, arms behind their back, doing absolutely nothing. I cannot for a single second fathom what their purpose was, other than to collect a paycheck, and allow the venue to jack up the price of the event. * Complete mismanagement of the quantity of food provided for the agreed upon number of guests; some of the last guests were underserved as a result. * The venue manager attempting to charge the bridal party an extra fee because the cake vendor arrived earlier than expected...because somehow sticking a cake in the fridge for a couple extra hours is a hassle worth stressing out the couple, and shaking them down for a few extra bucks. * The wedding planner bringing out the cake immediately after the ceremony, in 95° heat, which means it would have sat there for 3 hours, before it was time for it to be served. Fortunately, the mother of the bride noticed and told her to put it back in the fridge, so it wouldn't melt. * The venue charged $300 for lemonade service. You read that right: lemonade. * Oh, and of course, the married couple could not choose to use outside vendors or caterers for anything, leaving them at the mercy of these ridiculous hucksters. Five star venue, with one star service and value for your money. If you've got money to burn and nothing to lose, yeah, this place is probably great, if you can stomach watching them piss away your hard-earned cash with almost nothing to show for it. At least it's pretty here.
