Art Dial Watch Repair had become our GO TO shop for quick watch battery replacement at a very reasonable cost. We also left vintage manual watches there for cleaning and repair. So it is heartbreaking to hear of the fire that closed this business. Will they re-open someday? We can't seem to find news on that. Too soon to tell. I went to Art Dial today after having a really poor experience at another watch shop. My husband has an older Tag that needs tuning every now and then, and today it was a broken link. The gentleman who assisted me was candid in that to get the part would be a challenge, but he could do an interim fix on the spot for a VERY reasonable price. I took him up on it and was out the door in less than 10 minutes. It was worth the drive to Southfield (a tip that it's on the 3rd floor of the Advance bldg but parking was easy and seeing all of the shops on the 3rd floor was really neat!) Art Dial Watch did a full-service overhaul and polish of my 6 year old Tissot automatic watch and I am extremely pleased with the service. The scratches on the stainless steel watch band all polished out and looks like new. A friend recommended them and they did not disappoint! It was a nice piece-of-mind knowing a family business of real watchmakers worked on my watch. The watch was cleaned, polished, overhauled and calibrated by people who truly know watches. i went to art dial with several watches for battery replacement and one bracelet link band repair. all watches were repaired within 45 minutes and prices were much lower than i was quoted at other places. i took more watches ther and besides an over night crystal replacement ieas gone in less than twenty minutes. once again great service for less than i thought this is now my go to repair store for all of my watches . read more

I dropped my working watch off and 3 weeks later they had not started work on it (their website states estimates take 5-10 business days). Two weeks in (10 business days) I had to call and their first excuse for not contacting me with an estimate was the owner had a family emergency in Mexico and he would call me the following Tuesday. Wednesday came and no call so I called them again, but this time the excuse was they could not source an original crown. My watch has an original crown I stated. He retorted that there is a question of water resistance and offered a generic crown replacement! First off, my vintage watch has no water resistance. Second off, replace an original crown with a generic?! I don't think so. I went to pick my watch up and after searching while I stood watching he found it in a big box of watches in bags, then told me he (the owner who I observed working on another watch) just started working on my watch. I said no he didn't and I've decided not to go forward on the work. Luckily I got my watch, original crown and all back before any more delays. I have zero confidence in these guys. They probably are very good, but they won't get the chance with my watch and my business read more
