S & J was recommended to me by my old landlord, and although I don't live in the area anymore, I will never go anywhere else. Steve has always taken care of me and all my stupid problems w my cars that I thought were big problems. There was one time my car would not start, and after pushing it up there, thinking it was going to cost $100s to fix, I got a call that the car was done before I even had the time to walk home. $20 later.....a minor issue and quick fix that I could've been grossly over charged for. I've asked Steve to change my brakes before and been called saying I don't need breaks, I had my car towed up there once and he got it to start while it was still on the flat bed....This is not someone who is looking to take your money, it's someone who knows what they're doing and is just out to make an honest living doing it. Any work that I have needed has been done well and I've never had issues after it was fixed. Can't say enough good things about Steve and s & j.

Not the case here. Every time I've taken the car in for something, the charges have come in to be MORE than fair, and the work has always been done right the first time. I kind of had a good feeling when I first got there, because the bays were partly filled with vehicles in various stages of restoration. They guys here actually enjoy their work, and it shows in their professionalism and friendliness. Case study : My wife got our New Beetle caught in floodwaters, stalled it, and tried to start it underwater. Needless to say, she did a number on the electrical system. This is something that's scary, because electrical issues are traditionally hard to find and fix, and usually end up costing an arm and a leg. Not the case here. Problems were identified, and repaired, and for much less than the dealership charged me for the two visits in which they fixed nothing. I take my cars there for everything now - even simple oil changes, and I'm greeted by name, and walk away with work done right and without a gnawing pain in my wallet.

Alec the owner is very patient , low key , takes the time to listen to you and always tells you like it is ... no surprises . All the mechanics are also great, fast and efficient! Today both my husband and I needed inspections , no appointment necessary ! If you can get there early ,they can usually get to your car pretty much immediately . I got in the car on Thursday morning and hoped to get my son to nursery school and to a tire place safely. I saw East Neck Auto and turned around after I bought my son to school to drop in. They took my car real fast (which I always appreciate) and had the tire fixed (maybe plugged) I'm clueless with car tires and auto stuff in maybe a half hour probably less. It was $20 to fix the tire and I appreciated the honesty of the business. I was expecting to pay a few hundred for some new tires. I gave the guy a $10 tip said thank you and promised a good review for their service which I am writing now. As a woman it feels good to know of honest shops out there especially when it comes to cars. I'm getting a divorce so if my father, brother or brother-in-law (maybe future boyfriend if I get one) aren't going to be around to come with me for a car repair or car service it's good to know of a shop out there that won't be looking to snow me because I'm a female. I'll be moving to Nassau County but will still be visiting the area to pick up my son when I have him so if I need a repair and I'm this way this is the shop I'll come to!

Brought it in and they gave us a quick diagnosis that the radiator was shot and needed to be replaced. They had to order the part and we thought it would take a few days. They had the car fixed ans ready a day later. Awesome service.
