I'm dropping this place down to one star. My father has been going to Kevin's for some time. Some time ago (not THAT long ago) his car needed a good bit of work, and at the end Kevin said he 'forgot' to put something in; something which wasn't all that necessary, and not to worry, he'd do it next time. Well, turns out the piece was necessary after all, and the car became, in the words of an employee there, too dangerous to drive. When my father brought up the part that Kevin forgot to put in he conveniently forgot about the entire conversation. I can't help but think these guys are a bunch of scam artists. I would like to be wrong, very much so. My gut tells me not to trust this place. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would, even more than that... I started getting my inspections and oil changes here 2 years ago.. immediately I loved the shop because it is clean, has a comfortable waiting area, and has classic car memorabilia and an old school phone booth.. I grew up around cars, mostly classic, as it was a hobby of my dad's. Growing up I never had to worry about car work because my dad did all of it.. he has since retired and moved to SC, so finding someone reliable and honest was not easy.. but then I found Kev's. They are always very honest and fair with prices, and very reliable. But what totally blew away was today. I had an emergency with my mom's car yesterday, a Sunday, and brought it to pep boys in Patchogue.. what a nightmare. They sold us a new battery, did the work, and when we picked up the car, the check engine light was on, radio was not working, and car would not lock. My husband immediately brought it back, and they told him there was nothing they could so and that this happens with Hondas. They said we would have to bring it to a Honda dealer. Well, this morning I called Kev's and spoke with Frank who told me to bring the car in and he would stop what he was doing and take a look.. what?!? So I brought the car in on my lunch break, and guess what he did.. HE STOPPED WHAT HE WAS DOING AND TOOK MY CAR RIGHT IN!! He discovered that pep boys put the battery in backwards and they could have ruined the entire computer of the car! Frank corrected the battery and reset the codes and now the car is perfect. He also did not charge me and refused a tip.. this is unbelievable, especially in this industry where I have had quite a few nightmares... I am so grateful to have a shop like this to bring my car to. Excellent job!!! read more

I was referred to Kev's by a friend when I first moved to the area. I can honestly say that I would have been in a lot of trouble without that introduction. My fiancé drives an older Ford Escape and of course it decides to have mechanical problems at the worst possible time. Frank and his son not only diagnosed and repaired several sever mechanical problems but they repeatedly found ways to save my fiancé and I money. This was very important since I had recently become ill and lost my job. They now do all the service on my vehicles including my STS Cadillac and always tell me what will need to by done soon and what can wait. I trust them explicitly, the highest compliment I can pay any business. read more

Bought a car recently that I never test drove...BIG MISTAKE. The guy I bought if from was Rick from the Shape Shop in Bohemia. The seller listed on the retail certificate of sale was Kev's Broadway Automotive. Not sure of the relationship between The Shape Shop and Kev's Broadway but after payment to Rick at the Shape Shop, he had the car delivered to my house as he had transporter plates. For the record, I paid slightly above retail as the car looked great and had VERY low miles. After dropping it off to me, I took the car out for a spin and it was making a funny whining noise. I attributed it to the Pirelli tires, I put only about 100 miles on the car and since it had a shimmy at 55 miles an hour, I decided to have the wheels balanced. Upon removal of left front tire, the mechanic noticed that the stabilizer link was broken and hanging lose. According to Rick, he just had over 1000 dollars of front end work done including replacing right side hub bearing and replacing the stabilizer bar. I'm at a total loss as to how they missed the cracked link that holds the stabilizer bar to the strut. Anyway...I took the car to my mechanic today and they told me the whining noise was a bad hub bearing on the left front side. So between having the stabilizer link replaced, the left front hub bearing replaced and the car aligned and wheels balanced, I'm in it for around $450. Lesson learned...test drive and have your own mechanic look at it! Rick had the car inspected prior to selling to me and it passed inspection.....I just wonder how? read more

i did not even want to give this place one star. they will cut corners anyway that they can. horrible service. it took them 2 weeks to just do a tune up...enough said right there.... if you want to waste your time and money give them a call...the owner will do anything to keep your car there and bank in shop time. read more
