Before I previously deleted my Yelp account I gave Peppercorn a raving glowing review with twenty stars.... Welp Peppercorn is still the same after all these years. This is one of my favorite stores in Boulder! They have such a plethora of home and kitchen items that it is rare we don't walk out with something wonderful in hand. Located in the downtown Boulder/Pearl Street Mall strip, Peppercorn Gourmet Goods is such a wonderful cooking utensils/hosting and entertaining supplies kind of store that puts the big chains like Sur La Table and Williams Sonoma to shame. Peppercorn Gourmet Goods is wildly affordable, unlike those chains, and carries a whole selection of more unique, but still incredibly useful goods that I've been searching for all my adult life. I picked up a ton of varying size whisks, tweezers, and the like that are great for the more unique aspects of baking, cooking, and plating, and there were so many more goodies within this shop that I wanted to buy...if only I lived locally! I highly recommend this store for all those who are looking to expand their kitchen utensils and to add unique touches to hosting dinner parties or just entertaining in general. I love little shops like this! It has just a little bit of everything making it the perfect stop for holiday shopping. The prices are great, the variety is spectacular and their tons of local goods. I highly recommend doing some present shopping here! Located in the cutest little shopping strip in Boulder, Peppercorn is neighbors to other great shops like Savannah Bee Company, Boulder Book Store and so many more. Check out their website for a full line up of shops. Right down the road is the mountains giving you insane scenery as you shop! Street parking was pretty simple, but I did not see any free options. This shop specifically is great for home and kitchen goods. They had tons of spices, coffees, salsas, creative tea towels and things of that nature. It's sort of like a more affordable, local and creative version of Home Goods. Check it out and shop small this holiday season! read more

Great little gourmet kitchen and food boutique. We were on a mission to find those candy wax mustaches and were having no luck until we stopped here. Did they have the item we were looking for? Hell, no. However, their sales associate thought out of the box and presented us with bendable straws with attachable mustaches. The family pictures we took later on the vacation were very humorous. I was in amazement as I browsed this magnificent store. At the same time I was very thankful that my hometown doesn't have a Peppercorn. If it did, my credit cards would be maxed out and my savings account would be empty. Every aisle I cruised down I found something I wanted. Did I need it? No, but that is what makes Peppercorn Gourmet Goods an addicting store. Their items are so unique, you convince yourself that you need them all. My favorite section was the entire wall of hot sauce. It has been a problem in the past, but today I got home resenting that I had spent any money there. The young lady at the front door register was very put out and annoyed at me for interrupting her unboxing, didn't look up once, was curt and rude when I had to ask for a bigger bag so I wasn't carrying two small ones with a special needs child in hand, hated that I handed her my card instead of knowing to tap it at a barely visible card machine, and made me feel like I was very unwelcomed in general. Goodness gracious, what doesn't this store sell? From Fiestaware and marijuana recipe books to festive birthday candles and a big lineup of rice Kristy treats, this is a gift givers paradise. Somehow the two floors of organized chaos works! We popped in here for a few moments while roaming downtown Boulder and were lured in by their beautiful window displays. Prices were reasonable and it'd be hard to leave this store without finding the perfect gift given the wide range of offerings. I found myself fighting the urge to buy one of the outdoor cookbooks. It's too bad though some of the staff in the store weren't really friendly, it took away from the experience. WOW. Just wow. I am constantly told how great this store is by coworkers, friends and frequent shoppers... however I did not know exactly how great it was until I recently visited. I figured this was just a mom and pop shop, glorified bed bath and beyond... but oh my friends it is much more than that. This place is jam packed with trinkets, tools, books, dishes and treats for the littles. You can get weird candies, cookbooks for ANY type of food and gadgets you don't even know you need until you leave the store with them. The store is well staffed and each staff person covers a section of the store so they know exactly which nook has what. They literally have any kitchen tool you will ever need. I got a spiky little meat tenderizer, a mini zester, a mandolin (which was very hard to pick out among the 50 options/styles), leaf cutouts for pie decorating and some grapefruit spoons! The prices are amazing too. Of course they carry the finer more expensive stuff but they also carry a variety of brands so you can find many affordable things as well. I spent a couple hours in here the other day and the time just flew by. This place is perfect for finding gifts for friends, housewarmings, or gifts for yourself. It is a magical store and I can't wait until I need a new gadget so I have an excuse to go back! read more

Wow: what an epic kitchen store! They have two floors of kitchen and home goods including small appliances like panini presses, crepe makers and griddles as well as dishes, plates, table clothes and placemats and everything you'd need to outfit your kitchen. Some prices seemed quite reasonable although other prices are clearly marked up a lot. We were contemplating purchasing a raclette maker here but they only had very high end models that were over $100. We were looking for a smaller model more in the $50-75 range so ended up ordering one online. I did purchase a crepe maker which was on sale and priced reasonably. This was a great purchase! Staff was a little stand off-ish at first but were helpful when I approached them directly. I would definitely return here but know your prices. You can find a lot of items they sell here at about 1/4th the price at the IKEA in Centennial if you're not fussy about brands. read more

WOW is this store amazing. its what you expect on Park Avenue in New York. Stocked floor to ceiling with colorful interesting foodstuffs and cooking gadgets. If you want a $380 Viking fry pan, this is the place! Cake and pie pans in all shapes and sizes and at least 200 cookie cutters. Linens, towels, nutmeg mills, spice racks, imported crackers from Spain and California and Russia. Baking racks, wine furniture, on and on it goes. It takes forever to browse, and I'm fine with that. WOWZA!!! - - I want to move to Boulder. Was out in the Boulder area and decided to take my first peak at the very talked about Pearl Street. It's not even comparable to the 16th Street mall. When I found Peppercorn I found home. This place is huge with oodles of room downstairs as well as an upstairs full to the gills with fun plates, cups, mugs, grinders, pots, muffin pans, and a whole area dedicated to all the recipe and food books you could imagine. I could spend an entire day just looking at the books. I also love looking at all the different instruments to use. Any new gadget for the kitchen is right up my alley and on my x-mas list.
