Jake took the time to talk through why a particular art placement made sense and to think carefully about exactly where each piece should go, given the context of the house. It genuinely felt like I was getting a private art lesson, and I learned so much! Once we figured out the placement of all the art, Jake was incredibly fast at getting everything onto the walls. He also took the time to swap out hardware when it made sense, which will no doubt make hanging these pieces in the future even easier. Since he left, every single person who has walked into our home has remarked on how put-together it looks. The only difference? Jake's art placement. Truly nothing else about the house changed, yet people's experience of the space is completely different. It never occurred to me to search for a professional art installer before, but with a new house and a baby on the way, I was especially motivated to get some help. I'm so glad I did. The art is actually on the walls, it went up faster and better than I ever could have managed myself, and I feel much more confident that everything is positioned in a way that shows off both the house and the art. We already have plans for a few additional gallery walls, and we know we'll be reaching out to Jake again for those projects!

Working with Jake was a true collaboration. I had a lot of ideas about what I wanted; he listened. He had some suggestions; I listened. Listening to one another, we achieved results that, I think, we both found very satisfying.

Came across Restoration Division and from the get-go, I received nothing but professionalism. They were quick to reply to messages, gave me a very fair quote, sent out their team, picked up the piece, and repaired and returned in a matter of a few weeks. Probably would have been done quicker, but there were some delays on my part. Overall, very grateful for their quality work and professionalism. Painting came back looking as if nothing had ever happened. Highly recommend.

It literally bore so much neglect, it not only could not be reframed, one would never believe it was once part of an AIC Exhibition. Restoration Division understood the importance of the delicate aged piece not just to our family but because the work deserved to survive and not just restored but preserved for the future. They explain their techniques, reason and causes for condition as well as options and requirements to remedy them. The piece returned home yesterday looking as if my great-uncle had just finished its final brushstroke proudly in a new frame.

Put My Stupid Thing Together - The only problem with an upside down drawer is gravity.

Then he came when he said he would, did what he said he would while I worked from home upstairs. Took a little longer than expected, but in the bounds of a reasonable estimate, and no upcharge. All in all, I'm very satisfied, and would hire again for similar sized jobs.

After talking to the manufacturer we have now realized they installed the two panels that form the side of the drawers upside down. In hindsight, you'd think the fact that the top drawer would only fit in upside down would have been their first clue. They actually left that drawer in the cabinet like that, the other three drawers on the floor because they're unable to be inserted. Instead of realizing their mistake they just tried to get the drawers to fit, damaging all of the drawer runners in the process. So now we have to pay for new drawer runners and for someone knowledgeable to disassemble the entire table, install the new runners, reverse those two panels, and then reassemble the entire table properly. They were also extremely unprofessional, both swearing like truck drivers downstairs while we had guests, rather than telling us they were running into problems with the assembly. Maybe they could handle a simple piece of IKEA furniture, but DO NOT let them touch any expensive pieces!
