She was pleasant at first then called me back and told me her worker said he was told by the gentleman here that they did not have to worry about there mess he would take care of it, he didn't want them on his property... 1st off there was no man here ( no one was home at all...) 2nd one of the guys was already on the property picking up the big pieces of trash they let go. She said well he did run his magnet over your driveway, There's NO possible way he did with all the nails that were left and we also have 3 cameras that face our driveway 1 points straight down it one across it and the other the front and the only time it picked anyone up was when he was here picking up the big mess! She did tell me they would be here the next morning between 7-8 am I am still waiting for them but when I called her to ask if there was an eta she blew up on me, was Cussing me out and Hung up on me, Again this was all caught on camera, when I told her I am leaving a review. I have been NOTHING but nice and understanding of them... THIS IS NOT EVEN A COMPANY THAT WAS DOING ANY WORK FOR US BUT A NEIGHBOR!!

I needed to get six traditional dining room chairs reupholstered and had no idea how to go about it. I went online, looking for a reupholsterer in the area with favorable reviews. I found Nicholson Custom Furniture, and gave them a call. I spoke with David Nicholson right away, and from that moment he made this the best possible experience I could ever imagine. After describing the project to him and sending photos of the chairs, he told me how much material I would need and where to purchase it. Once I purchased the material, I again contacted him, and, that day (a Friday), he picked up the material and seats, telling me that he would have the project completed either the next day or Sunday at the latest. Keeping me informed of his progress, on Sunday, he returned and reinstalled the seats wonderfully reupholstered. Both before and after the project, I spoke with several friends and family members about the price for the project, and they all agreed that the price was very reasonable for the excellent workmanship and prompt service. read more

Working with Nicholson Custom Furniture was delightful from top to bottom. I have an old 70's metal glider with worn out cushions and was having a hard time finding replacement cushions to fit the glider's odd size. I decided to cover the original cushion instead and found David on Yelp. I'm so thrilled I did-- David's communication, guidance on how much fabric to purchase, promptness in providing a proposal, and turnaround time are unbeatable-- and the final product is gorgeous and masterfully done. David picked up my cushions on a Thursday and we were sitting on it two days later-- he even made a contrasting throw pillow to match! I just had a really wonderful experience with David at Nicholson upholstery! Not only did he recommend a place to purchase fabric at a reasonable price, he answered all of my questions and provided me a quote based on only Pictures and measurements of the chairs I was hoping to have refinished. Additionally, he came to my apartment and picked up the furniture, then returned it to me when he was finished; living in the city without a car, this was huge for me and made the entire process so much easier! Lastly, the quality of his work is top notch. I had two 100-year old antique side chairs that he refinished for me and they look stunning! I recently had a wing chair and ottoman and 6 dining room chairs re-upholstered with stunning results! I am so happy that I chose Nicholson Upholstery! First, we did everything by text and photos. He gave me an estimate based on photos of the furniture-quick so easy! Then he told me about the discount furniture warehouse where I bought fantastic fabric for a tiny fraction of the cost I would have incurred if I'd gone to a regular fabric store or ordered online. Since I don't own a car, he picked up the furniture from my apartment and delivered it when it was completed. Finally, he did a great job on the chairs plus ottoman and everything looks like new again. Plus, his prices are very reasonable for such excellent work. Highly recommended !! read more

We recently took our rickety and well used dining room table and chairs to Nicholson for refurbishing. Not only did the owner, David give us a fair price, he told us where to shop for quality inexpensive upholstery fabric for the chairs. David restored the dinged-up wood to a beautiful finish, padded and recovered the chairs with the fabric that we selected and best of all the table and chairs are sturdy again - no more wobble. This is like getting a new table and chairs for Thanksgiving without losing decades of wonderful family memories! We highly recommend Nicholson Upholstery. This was my first experience seeking someone to do upholstery for me as my mother had always been who I used for recovering and making slip covers. I actually found David on Craig's list. He was quick to answer my message and give me a quote based on just a picture. He told me how much fabric I would need and I bought accordingly. I will say I did some comparison shopping and no one else could do it with the yardage he suggested ... they all wanted 2-3 yards more. He picked up and delivered back to us and I could not be more delighted with the result. My chair is simply beautiful and his workmanship is impeccable! First of all we've got a huge couch, leather, a lighter mustard. But we have a cat who loves leather! We moved into our new home and bought this couch because the cat clawed up our last one. The cat decided to tear this one up too! We didn't have to move a thing. We got a house call and the couch looks new after a two step process (some sanding and painting I believe). Surprised because the color is so light. Now our leather seats were reupholstered, also damaged by our cat. We were told where to go and pick out affordable material and these seats were picked up and returned brand new. I'm long overdue for this review but I have to share how amazing David is. I was moving to a new place and when we got to the apartment the movers and I found out the couch would not go through the door. I started to panic and had no idea what to do. I contacted David and he made myself available right away. He was courteous and super professional. He cut the couch in half (OMG) then once the couch was in the apartment he put it back together. Looking at the couch you will never know the couch was modified. It looks perfect. It has no marking. You cannot tell in any way shape or form. I had 2 wingback chairs passed down to me by my grandmother. I really wanted them to be the staple of my dining room but they were in bad shape. I went on craigslist and took a chance by contacting David. He responded immediately and we agreed on a price. The price per chair was half of what I was quoted by several other companies. I was recently given an old chair that belonged to my grandparents and hadn't been reupholstered since the 1970's. The cushion was destroyed, wood legs and arms scratched, and overall looking quite worn. David came to pick up the chair, sent progress photos, and delivered it back to me looking brand new. He did an amazing job! His craftsmanship is extremely high quality - my chair has a decent amount of detail work, and it is quite obvious that David took the care to be sure it was done correctly. I had a recliner it was in great condition other than the fact that one arm was loose. After inquiring with another shop who said it's not worth repairing, we found David's shop. He came out a day or two later and checkEd the chair. Said he needed to repair it in the shop and took it with him out the door all by himself. 24 hours later he told me he was done and I had it back the next day. I gave him a challenging upholstery job because I needed very old seat cushions replaced with new foam and I had him apply a thick Naugahyde fabric to the seats. They did great work for use. We had two very old chairs in poor condition. They did a fantastic jobs. I will post photos if I can figure out how to do that. To do the chairs it took about 1 month. I was happy with it only taking 1 month and I never once called him to check in. Just mentioning this because we did not get any updates on progress. It went from drop off to done with no communications in between. Just letting you know, it takes a while but the work is great. read more

An absolute nightmare of a transaction from beginning to end. There are so many other furniture…read morerestoration companies to choose from. This place should close immediately. I asked for an estimate for 2 leather couch cushions. James asked for pictures and measurements. He quoted me a price. He quoted me over triple the original price once I bought the leather and brought them in. I was told turn around would be 3 weeks. And verbally promised they would try to get them done sooner. 14 weeks, several empty promises, the gamut of excuses, and many ignored phone calls later, I finally received my cushions. The corners are lopsided, the cushions are uneven, and I was gaslit to believe "Thats how they originally were". I don't think so Karl. I was also threatened with "I have 6 guys here who will rip those cushions out of your car" when I demanded a discount for their less-than-superior service. The hostility proved their guilt. The interior of the business is filthy and unfit for any nonworker to enter. It will be interesting to see what mold spores and bugs my cushions will release after being held hostage in their "warehouse" for over a quarter of a year.
