**August 2021 Visit** I was looking for a particular brand of fabric paint and my local Michaels didn't sell it so I decided to check out this speciality store instead. WOW! There's so much to see!! They had the paint that I wanted and for a LOT cheaper than what Amazon was selling for. I think $3 something versus $9? Anyways, I'm not sure if this is typical but there was a big clearance sale for brushes. There was a $1 ($10 org), $2 ($11 -$15 org), $3 ($15+ org) section. I bought two $2 brushes for my project and they definitely felt like quality brushes. I also bought some colored felt for some potential hair bow projects I'll work on as well. Overall, there's a ton of quality supplies and I most certainly will be back for my next projects! Enjoy! read more

I have been a customer for almost 10 years. Always a great place for supplies. I'm actually a kid in a candy shop when I walk in. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Now that I am out of state, I always make it a point to put a shopping list together as I did this weekend when I was in town visiting. Always reliable and dependable. Found what I was looking for and packed it home. It's just too bad I didn't have my vehicle with me. I would have purchased more canvas. I used to love coming here when I lived in OC. I now live in LA county and as an artist and educator I'm always in need of art supplies to keep my inventory stocked. However, this year I've made 4 different visits and each time I was met with rude, snarky and just overall shitty customer service. In the past I would go quite often because I was a student in art school. So now that I am a teacher I went to ask if they offered teacher or school discounts and was met with a rude response from the people at check out saying "no we don't and we're already discounted in case you didn't know that". To be honest though I've gotten some of the same items at the same price or lower from other art stores after discounts or during promotions. So it doesn't seem "that discounted" especially when I'm ordering over $500+ worth of products and have to drive to this location. Michaels and Blick are literally a few miles from me but since I was so fond of this store in the past I would go the distance. Not anymore though. Yes some stuff is cheaper but the people that work there are just disgruntled and moody, so it makes the experience disappointing. I will no longer be shopping here. read more

It's a dream. It has almost every art supply you want and they provide a variety in case you have a particular preference. If that's not enough to visit the place, the employees are amazing. They basically have a welcoming team at the front to make sure customers are following the CDC guidelines. Really makes you feel safe as they show how much they care about the people in their store. In addition, they have a such a bright vibe, you feel good about walking in. The employees inside are very knowledgeable and are good at providing recommendations. I had the privilege of talking to an art teacher and some students that were working there. They had very good pointers and advice (check out the place if you want to hear some xD). I'm writing this review a few weeks after visiting the place for 2 reasons. First, I spent more than planned, so I wanted to make sure my 5-star review was not heavily influenced from a buyer's high. The selection of items is so wide and varied it borders on being overwhelming, and the prices are the lowest I've ever seen. This was supposed to be one of the more fun days I've had since Covid started. I ventured out about a week and a half ago and spent $200, and purchased an item for specific use. The item didn't work for my purposes. I live 31 miles away, but had the time to come out exchange my item grab some more paint and check out the book section again that I didn't have time to really look at last time. I've been coming here for years and I spend Most of my extra cash on art supplies. When I got out of my car I was greeted at the door by a short dark-haired person with long hair, (said they were the manager) who immediately said "do you have a return?" When I said yes they explained that they were not taking returns at this time. I tried to explain that I had come to 31 miles and I just wanted an exchange. I think the person said I'm sorry about seven times in our brief exchange, when clearly sorry was not part of the equation. I'm sorry I will not be returning here. I'm sorry your attitude sucks. I'm sorry you're losing a fairly decent customer after many years because you couldn't spend 45 seconds putting a credit on my card or exchanging it for something more expensive. read more

During COVID-19 as of October 2021: Legit art supply warehouse in OC. I came here during my little trip to SoCal, looking for a new art store to check out knowing that the west coast is the coast of creatives. For me, this place had so much inventory of brands and supplies; they have big brand names and some obscure ones, mostly looking at the ink brands. I believe there is something for everyone for a decent price from paints to markers to sculpting. I was here during their yearly sale (possibly an anniversary) and got a worth of supplies for around $100 which would have went for double the price in NYC based on the paper pad deals. My highlights were definitely the amount and variety of papers they sold and different Indian inks that I actually buy from stationery stores rather than art stores. The customer service was helpful and found out some staff working there lived and studied in NYC as well. Overall a fun experience for any artist or enthusiast, young and old. Large parking lot. I started painting during the pandemic and dived into online tutorials. They all recommended investing in artist quality paint and paper, even as a beginner. Art Supply Warehouse is the most affordable place to get high quality materials. Their prices almost always are better than Amazon or online art supply stores. I usually save about 20% compared to the online stores. Their selection is fantastic and includes both high end supplies and super affordable bulk materials that I use with my 5th grade students. I have discovered so many favorite products there. Michael's or Hobby Lobby just can't compare. They are usually more expensive and they have an extremely limited selection of artist grade materials. Although their house brands are affordable, the quality is similar to the cheapest stuff available on Amazon. It's hard to get good results as a new artist with sub par paper that rips when you attempt to erase a mistake or chalky paint. There are so many fun and quirky gifts available as well. I spend way too much money at this store, but it is my happy place. It tends to be busy but the staff are always friendly and helpful. I really really really really reaaaaally love this store. I've been coming here for about 8 years now, maybe more. The layout has always stayed pretty consistent. It's very clean, well stocked and I appreciate the variety of supplies they have here. The main things I come to get from here are oil paints, oil mediums, canvases, drawing pads, pencils and bullet journals. Of course I get other things but those are my top items lol One of the main reasons why I also keep coming back as well is the friendly staff. Normally when I go to stores I get anxious being around people but the staff has been consistently kind and helpful. Once in a while there's a flustered person, but I think that is just part of customer service (and part of being a human) no matter where you go. Also I'm super happy about their loyalty card program, didn't realize how quickly my points would add up until a friendly cashier tells me I have a $10 coupon. *does happy dance* I definitely recommend this place to anyone who is in need of purchasing art supplies! I've been going to ASW since I started college in 2001 and have been a loyal customer ever since. I came across a YouTube video reviewing the store the other day and it reminded me just how special it is. This art YouTuber drove all the way from Arizona to see it and was blown away by the selection and prices and I have to say I have always felt the same. You can just tell the inventory is curated for artists and designers by artists and designers. It's not a chain store and it shows in the best ways. The prices are well below Michael's and Amazon. The selection is far better. The employees genuinely love working there, they are always smiling and helpful. And I'm pretty sure they are all artists too. They look the part and I always trust their recommendations. If something you want is not in stock, they will special order it for you. You can earn points on your purchases and save even more next time you shop. Curbside pickup was a godsend during COVID and I'm pretty sure they will continue to offer this service. This is a great art supply store. Inventory is decent. I've been looking for hardware to hang things on my walls at home. I've had a little trouble because I need those special thin nails for plaster walls. A lot of places no longer have them since Ook brand swapped theirs out for thicker nails. As soon as we came in the store the only African American people we were treated as though we were coming to steal or snatch and grab was followed around the store by one particular employee ever isle we went down she was there making sure whatever we had in our cart was still there. We are a well to do family l make in one week more than Karen makes biweekly checks had supplies in my basket with the attention of spending at least 150.00 dollars or more walked out went to Michael's and gave them 200.00 in art supplies racist establishment so if you're of color be aware. This place is amazing. My first introduction to Art Supply Warehouse was through their booth that they have every year at Wondercon in Anaheim. They always a great selection of Copic markers and Supplies. I finally made it out to their physical store a couple months ago and am amazed by the whole place. They sell alot of items that I never see anywhere else and their prices are amazing, especially on Copic Markers (about $2 to $3 less than other art stores). The staff is amazing, as they really helped us out when it came to any stock questions and at one visit, my husband left his iPad in an aisle and luckily they had found it and kept it for us until we could turn around and get back to the store. The only issue about this place is that it's really far from where I live. I live in Southern Orange County and the store is located in Westminster (Northern Orange County). I've made it out about three times in the last couple months, but it usually takes me about 30-40 minutes to get there from where I live (Rancho Santa Margarita). I just wish it was closer. There are not many specialty art stores in Southern Orange County (just Michaels and Hobby Lobby... :( ) and one specialty store just recently closed in San Clemente. If it wasn't so far I would trek there more. I could shop online with them, but the price you pay for shipping is about the same or less in gas that I would spend driving there. read more

This place is dangerous! Every time I go in there is spend at least $30. I use to order my supplies on Amazon but why wait when I can get what I need right away while supporting local business. Lately when I go, I go in with the intention to catch what's on sale from their social media or to get things for my nieces and nephews. They love being creative and it gets them off the devices. I also get things I need for work as I sometimes have to make sample packaging, etc and having good supplies saves time. The staff is friendly and helpful. Keep up the great work!
