Absolutely love this store. Plan on spending a good hour just looking through all the material, lace, and trims they have. When I first arrived there was a super long line just to get fabric cut. I decided to shop for a while until there were only two people in line. They are really good at getting everyone through as quick as possible and had over 6 people just cutting yardage. After you get your fabric cut, you go to a second line to pay, but I only waited about 2 minutes. I guess just timed it right. HINT: they have the full price fabric up by the front door. Skip that and head to the piles of fabric towards the side and back of the store. The only thing I couldn't find there was on brand fabrics like Hello Kitty and the Nightmare Before Christmas. As if their prices weren't low enough, they have a bargain area in the back of the store with even lower prices and other specialty materials like vinyl. Plenty of parking as well. read more

With Joann's closing I was looking for a place to find Dodger print fabric and was so glad M&L had some. Best part everything in the store was 20% off through today. The store has a wide selection of fabrics and it can be a bit overwhelming, but with patience you will surprise yourself with your findings. And if you're looking for something in particular do ask the store staff - everyone I talked to was very friendly and helpful. Though no place will replace Joann's this place comes close. read more

Very big selection but not welcoming at all. When I asked a few employees for assistance, I was brushed off by every single one. I was looking at the quilt fabric bundles and an employee barked at me "that's $80!" in a tone that said 'if you're not going to buy it, don't touch it'. Well I did purchase, but even if I didn't, pretty rude. The only silver lining about the visit is that other patrons were very kind and willing to help. Also, prices weren't that great. Visited this place recently and oh my gosh they have everything. They have an entire section of discounted material that is incredible. And then they had a whole section of other materials that is beautiful. Honestly I'm a speechless. I don't know how to describe how many things I found. The prices were fantastic. This place is insane in size and variety. The prices are also very reasonable with lots to choose from in their clearance section in all fabric types. The only suggestion I would have for anyone going is to have a really good idea of what you're looking for because it's easy to get sidetracked once you're there with all the options. read more

M&L is in no way a discount fabric store. 90% of their fabric is $13/yard, with only some (very outdated, very old) fabrics priced at $5/yard. I'll admit they do have a large selection, and it's good if you're looking for a very specific fabric, but be prepared to spend WAY more than you'd expect from a so-called "discount" store. read more

My wife is on a sewing kick and I mentioned seeing some reviews about this fabric store. A few days later I found myself chauffeuring her here. It's a huge building within an older shopping plaza with a large parking lot. Setting foot inside I was overwhelmed as it was enormous; a warehouse full of organized fabrics - aisles and aisles of fabrics of all types. A back room has remnants and clearance fabrics. I walked around a bit and my wife let it be known she was going to be there for a little while (it turned out to be a LONG while). I went to get a coffee but returned at a designated time to get in a line to help her unload her chosen bolts of fabric from her cart to the cutting table. There, pieces were cut from the bolt to a specified length by one of several kind, talented women. Once done with the cutting, the fabrics, along with a handwritten invoice, are presented by the "cutter" to a cashier who takes payment. Compared to other fabric stores I thought the prices were somewhat less but not everything feels like a "discount". To steal a line from another reviewer, if you don't find your fabric here, it probably doesn't exist. read more

M&L Fabrics is an absolute gem if you sew. The selection is huge and can feel overwhelming at first, but if you take your time, there's so much value here. The flat fold area especially has some hidden gems!! The staff works incredibly hard to keep everything organized and tidy, and it really shows. The fabrics are all stacked so you have to be mindful if you want something in the middle or bottom. The service is excellent. Things move fast once you're at the cutting table, so it helps to come in with an idea of how much of everything you want. Overall, the value, selection, and expertise here are unmatched. read more

I came here a few weeks ago looking for fabric for a dress pattern I found online (Mood's Poppy dress). My first impression was that this place was huge! There were so many aisles to go through, you could spend a whole day in here if you wanted to. There are some $2.98/yd clearance fabrics by the cashier, but I ended up in the $3.98/yd section, and there were so many designs to choose from. There's plenty of parking, and the people at the counter were pretty helpful. Once you pay at the end of the counter, they'll hand you your cut fabric. OMG WHEN I TELL YOU I WAS EXCITED, I'M NOT LYING! I used to go to Jenny's Fabrics a lot during the pandemic (and after) and I was devastated when it closed. I only recently found out that this is the sister location and JENNY IS IN FACT HERE! This store is much bigger than Jenny's, so if you spent about an hour before, prepare to spend a few more here. The pricing is only a bit higher as time goes on, but I'm so excited to browse all the fabrics like I did before. Instead of the back wall with the folded fabric, there are ASLES of folded fabric organized by brand and seasonal ones. Everything here is still affordable and you even get discontinued designer items for an insane discount! Now...I kind of went crazy on my last spree, but that was only because the March special was to spend at least $100 and get a $20 coupon that expires in April. Girl math is obviously do that! I spend about 2 hours browsing and debating fabrics to get...and surprisingly enough, I even put back like 10 folds The lady that help me cut the fabric was super patient and very helpful. I mentioned that I also wanted batting and she went to look for the person that cuts it for me. I was also surprised that THE Jenny was at the register to check me out. She was very nice and patient as well. Although I do miss only driving 8 minutes to get fabric, I'm glad that I can go to the sister location within 30 minutes from me. This seems to be one of my fav places to go to! I try hard not to come as often bc I spend $$$$ like I'm rich. Lol but, it's nice that I have this store to go to since there aren't many fabric shops around anywhere I live. Their variety is endless. I can get lost searching for amazing fabric to use for a current or future projects. The workers are also super friendly and helpful with any questions. As a first timer I had no idea what the process is.. I'm new to sewing so buying fabric seemed overwhelming at first but I'm glad I have friends to guide me (or to tell me yes or not to certain fabrics lol). Pick your fabric, decide the length/yardage, get in line to get cut, and pay at the register with your cut fabric. So easy! The ladies cutting are so fast. There's a huge variety of fabrics. Unfortunately, it's hard to figure out how they're organized and the store only seems to staff at the checkout. The fabrics seemed reasonably priced and I did eventually find something that worked well for my project. If you shop here, you have to allow plenty of time to hunt. read more

I am new to the upcycle/OOAK biz and this was my first stop. I will first say I LOVE the selection. I got lost in here. I spent so much time touching and skimming through materials that were beautiful and greatly priced. The store is well organized and sorted well but fabric material, colors, themes, and patterns. The service left much to be desired. I couldn't tell who worked there. No one greeted me or asked if I needed help throughout the 45 mins. to an hour I was there. As stated earlier, I'm new to this so I had questions but really didn't know who to ask. I didn't see any name tags, vests, or other employee identifiable items. It wasn't very busy. I didn't even see anyone at the cutting/cashier area. There are tables throughout so I couldn't tell if people were cutting fabrics themselves or if they were actual workers. Had to wait for them to reopen after the forced evacuation- came on a Saturday to find the store packed with shoppers! Needed to buy backing fabric for a quilt and after looking at the flat folds and fabrics on bolts found two that would work! Great shop has such a variety of fabrics for quilting, garments and home decor. And all the notions needed to transform them into your vision- loved the flat folds rows stacked high with batiks of flannels or quilting cottons or knits or home decor fabrics and steep discounted prices. Even my friend who buys fabric wholesale said these are the lowest prices she's seen! Very wide and organized selection of fabrics. However expensive and not worth the visit considering the workers are incredibly rude and off putting. Anytime I have ever asked a question or assistance they have acted as if my very existence is the biggest inconvenience. Especially the one and only cashier woman who refused to acknowledge me even after I said hello and asked her how she was doing n whatnot. Then she proceeded to throw my receipt at me. Not sure if it's because I'm much younger and darker in skin tone than majority of the other shoppers in the store but every time I have visited this establishment I have felt not only unwelcome but a big burden to the workers. read more

It is overwhelming how much and how many types of fabrics they have from oil cloth to windbreaker material to the typical cotton or minkee. While some employees working here are polite, the management is out to get customers with price gouging and other dishonest scams. We ended up purchasing a yard of basic plain weave clothing for $25! Our mistake was not asking for pricing beforehand and once cut, you cannot return said yardage. Too bad, lesson learned - You've been warned. Never, ever going to this place again. Great selection to the point of overwhelm! Take the time to stroll each aisle. The flat folds are a super great value and there are literally thousands to choose from. They carry some modern lines like RSS and some classic lines like Tilda. I'd love to see them being in more Free Spirit and AGF. I've seen complaints about the staff but in my experience, if you're kind and appreciative of them, they reciprocate. They're fast, they get through the lines quickly and they're generous in their cuts. It's worth the trip for me from Riverside. read more

I walked into the store at 4:57. Not realizing when I took an hour to get to the store that it closes at 5, regardless. The lady at the register yelled " wear closed" in a rude tone and loudness so I asked, can I just look around for 3 minutes?And she says , "NO you gotta get outta here" with improper grammar and the rudeness of what she said to me and she was incorrect and the fact that they were technically still open. close? which they shouldn't be closed for another 3 minutes, correct, and I was like, can I please just look around for 3 minutes and we're finding I just want to see what you have and they said, no, "you gotta get out of here". What "no , you gotta get out of here". How rude is that and technically the store was still open for 3 minutes according to the close at 5pm sign and on yelp see picture attached from after I downloaded yelp to write the ugly review. read more
