He gave me a more-than-competitive quote that was good for 30 days with a scope that was beyond what I anticipated. I have very wet ground. They pulled up my existing driveway and rolled in new Item 4. They allowed it to sit long enough to firm up before returning to re-roll the low spots with more Item 4 and put down asphalt. They applied a generous layer of both for an amazing final product. They graded everything appropriately and were incredibly efficient. The only reason I left off a star is because of the communication. I had to call to find out when they were coming for the tear out and had to call again to get the date that they were coming back for asphalt. I was on their calendar but no one reached out to tell me dates. That was up to me. I would 100% recommend them for their work and efficiency.

They did a beautiful job sealcoating my driveway with all cracks carefully filled with hot tar. Since then, they bait-switched on me twice. First time they switched the oil sealer with hot tar filling to a latex sealer job. Later, Jr. told me that was his cousin and he's no longer there. Jr. said he would make it right for me if I would hire them again. But Jr. did the same thing to me this year. He sent another cousin over to do the job. This cousin, wearing another company's uniform, said no one told him that he needed to do hot tar crack filling. He got Jr. on the phone. When I confronted Jr. that not only we had agreed earlier about the sealcoating and hot tar filling and the price, but also his office confirmed all this with him, then reiterated to me item by item, which included hot tar filling of the cracks. Jr. said that it was the secretary's misunderstanding /miscommunication! So, the cousin did latex coating of the driveway and cracks. Besides, they didn't do a neat job either. Some part of the driveway edge was not seal coated and the grass on both sides of the driveway was black. Moreover, they tied the yellow ribbon on my fully loaded garbage can which I put outside for next morning's collection. I had to go out in the middle of the night to untie the ribbon and tied the ribbon to something else. I would not go back to them ever again, and would advise if you consider hire them, put things down in writing, don't trust what they say.

I had been considering paving my driveway for years, and when I finally built a garage and added a…read moresecond driveway, I knew now was the time. I had seen signs for The Paving Company around and the work looked good, so I figured I would give them a shot. I was worried about the cost -- I had a lot of ground to cover -- but reached out and left a message on a Friday afternoon. I expected to hear back on Monday, but Alex called early Friday evening and offered to stop by 1pm on Saturday. I had 3 distinct areas that needed to be tied together -- an existing 35 yr old gravel driveway, a new 1 yr old gravel driveway, and a new "connection" between the two, to effectively make a "horseshoe" as viewed from the road. Alex did his measurements and quoted a number around 75% what I had estimated (and I always under-estimate). Based on existing work I had seen, I said "let's go for it." On Monday I thought they were going to just drop off some equipment, but he was actually able to get started! They excavated for the new driveway connection, and finding organic material there that wouldn't make for a good base, they ended up digging down 2-3 feet. They let it dry for a day and then filled it up with quality base material. No extra charge for the extra work and fill needed, but since we were under my budget I asked if he could put down and compact item 4 gravel next to the garage as an "overflow" area, and he agreed. On Wednesday they were there to put down item 4 over the entire area, and on Thursday they paved it all in about 4 hours. I could see the effort they put in throughout the entire process, and I was able to go from phone call to paved driveway in less than a week. I am a perfectionist (which I understand can make me difficult to work for ;-) and a DIYer for most things because my experience has been that contractors just don't always do things to my standards. But Alex and I were on the same page throughout this process, and I could see the pride in his face for the work he had done. And as I look at it now, it came out even better than I had imagined. My wife thinks I'm crazy to get so excited about a driveway, but I've literally waited 35 years for this dream garage and driveway. I'm very happy that Alex and his team were able to make it happen, I could not give a higher recommendation. Next step is landscaping, I hope I have as much success there :-)

While I was initially frustrated by the communication and felt my concerns were being dismissed, I do appreciate that he ultimately responded, came out personally, and worked toward a solution rather than ignoring the issue entirely. He also offered a reasonable option to repair the plow damage at the road and reseal the driveway. I still believe the initial communication could have been handled better from the beginning, but I also believe it's only fair to update my review now that an effort was made to address the concerns.

They are remarkably similar to my experience which caused the court to issue a judgement against them which Larry has since settled since my initial review. (Hamptonburgh Town Court, Index # 22030014) They will also ghost you once problems arise as described in several reviews. His salesperson, Chris Flood shields Larry and enables the ghosting, acting as a buffer so you can't get to him. Your project and your money are too important to risk using someone who is deceptive and lacks integrity.

Hello, I had a 40' x 14' foot concrete patio replaced with…read moreCambridge pavers. The patio is along the back of my house and there are 2 doors going into the house from the patio, one slider and one hinged door. The new patio looks good enough but the whole thing is too high relative to the house, the top of the pavers are the same height as the top of the door saddle. I can not install a storm door because it will hit a floor mat. I had asked Manuel to make the patio about an inch below the door saddles during the estimate and again before the pavers were installed, he agreed but didn't do it. It's discouraging, the patio looks nice but it's the wrong height. Now I face the dilemma of living with it or having another contractor rip it out and install it at the right height.
