They pulled up my existing driveway and rolled in new Item 4. They allowed it to sit long enough to firm up before returning to re-roll the low spots with more Item 4 and put down asphalt. They applied a generous layer of both for an amazing final product. They graded everything appropriately and were incredibly efficient. The only reason I left off a star is because of the communication. I had to call to find out when they were coming for the tear out and had to call again to get the date that they were coming back for asphalt. I was on their calendar but no one reached out to tell me dates. That was up to me. I would 100% recommend them for their work and efficiency.

They did a beautiful job sealcoating my driveway with all cracks carefully filled with hot tar. Since then, they bait-switched on me twice. First time they switched the oil sealer with hot tar filling to a latex sealer job. Later, Jr. told me that was his cousin and he's no longer there. Jr. said he would make it right for me if I would hire them again. But Jr. did the same thing to me this year. He sent another cousin over to do the job. This cousin, wearing another company's uniform, said no one told him that he needed to do hot tar crack filling. He got Jr. on the phone. When I confronted Jr. that not only we had agreed earlier about the sealcoating and hot tar filling and the price, but also his office confirmed all this with him, then reiterated to me item by item, which included hot tar filling of the cracks. Jr. said that it was the secretary's misunderstanding /miscommunication! So, the cousin did latex coating of the driveway and cracks. Besides, they didn't do a neat job either. Some part of the driveway edge was not seal coated and the grass on both sides of the driveway was black. Moreover, they tied the yellow ribbon on my fully loaded garbage can which I put outside for next morning's collection. I had to go out in the middle of the night to untie the ribbon and tied the ribbon to something else. I would not go back to them ever again, and would advise if you consider hire them, put things down in writing, don't trust what they say.

I originally hired Alex to upsize my piping and install a water pressure booster pump. From start to finish, his work was flawless. He was extremely thorough in researching and sourcing the exact right parts and pump for my home's setup. He is meticulously detail-oriented, takes his time, and doesn't cut any corners. The only negative things I will add are that it seems the company is growing, and in doing so, there are too many people involved in projects. Everyone tends to get lost over who is handling what to the extent that I had to separate my projects (such as the electrician portion) and pull my own permits for him to get things moving along. Also, the invoicing system is very confusing because it does not accurately reflect the parts that were quoted, leading you to believe that you are being misled. This is not the case, as I found out. They are using stock photos of items and should be clearer about that in the invoicing. Also, the invoicing was adding taxes on upgrades when it should not. Also, I am not happy about being charged permit fees to the tune of hundreds of dollars when my town only requires a $60 plumbing permit fee, and they do their own inspection for free. D.Rohde claims this is because they have to send their plumber out for the inspection. They can do better here, and I hope they will address it because I did bring it to several people's attention. When you have such a great asset as Alex, you do not want to lose business because of stupid administrative stuff and nickel-and-diming customers over permit fees (just a bad look). Just be aware of the poor administrative stuff so it doesn't scare you off, because the work is excellent, which is what truly matters!

Mark Cooper called us on 5/6/26. He gave my husband an estimate of…read more$17,500.00 to put in a new asphalt driveway to his hobby garage. My husband told him the estimate was too high. He then gave us an estimate of $15,500.00. That price was to install a paved driveway for a hobby garage and sealcoat our existing house driveway. He was to grade the new hobby garage driveway before paving. He got the job and said his workers were in the area and could start work right away, That was our first big mistake. All verbal contract and nothing in writing which is how he does business. Owner's son did not grade for the new driveway. No grader came on site. Mark's son and 5 workers started paving immediately. He just put down barely 2" of asphalt and rolled it. The next day 5/7 in the rain the son insisted he had to seal coat the new driveway. My husband told him no one seal coats a new driveway for at least 6 to 8 months after installation besides it was raining. He was told if he did it that day it would never have to be seal coated again. Another big mistake on our part. He proceeded to put on a very thin spray on coating on our existing house driveway without filling any cracks as promised. The son then went over to the new hobby garage driveway he installed the day before and seal coated that one also with a very thin coat of spray on sealer. My husband tried to tell the son no one seals driveways in the rain but the owner's son insisted that was the way they do things. When done the son insisted another $2750.00 for sealcoating the new asphalt driveway and the existing house driveway. My husband argued with the son and we paid him with another check for $2000.00 after arguing about the extra cost. We were never told that was not in the original agreed upon price. (Mm original quote was for $17,500.00. This is how he was going to get his original price of $17,500.00 out of us.) We were led to believe the original cost quoted was for everything. My husband told the son to leave the property. Next day it rained heavily and needless to say our new driveway had massive puddles. It is an absolute mess and will probably have to be ripped up and started over. The pass door to the hobby garage barely opens which my husband told the son about when he started paving. My husband also told him he better not get water in his big hobby garage where the overhead garage door is. The son assured my husband that would not happen. Checks were cashed same day as written. Owner comes in, gets his money, and now we are on the hook to repair the mess. Never would we recommend this unscrupulous company! He preys on emotion and smooth talks you. We should have known better than to start something the same day. We already had another paving contractor look at this driveway and was told it was around an $8000.00 job! We are senior citizens on a fixed income. Customer beware!!

I had been considering paving my driveway for years, and when I finally built a garage and added a…read moresecond driveway, I knew now was the time. I had seen signs for The Paving Company around and the work looked good, so I figured I would give them a shot. I was worried about the cost -- I had a lot of ground to cover -- but reached out and left a message on a Friday afternoon. I expected to hear back on Monday, but Alex called early Friday evening and offered to stop by 1pm on Saturday. I had 3 distinct areas that needed to be tied together -- an existing 35 yr old gravel driveway, a new 1 yr old gravel driveway, and a new "connection" between the two, to effectively make a "horseshoe" as viewed from the road. Alex did his measurements and quoted a number around 75% what I had estimated (and I always under-estimate). Based on existing work I had seen, I said "let's go for it." On Monday I thought they were going to just drop off some equipment, but he was actually able to get started! They excavated for the new driveway connection, and finding organic material there that wouldn't make for a good base, they ended up digging down 2-3 feet. They let it dry for a day and then filled it up with quality base material. No extra charge for the extra work and fill needed, but since we were under my budget I asked if he could put down and compact item 4 gravel next to the garage as an "overflow" area, and he agreed. On Wednesday they were there to put down item 4 over the entire area, and on Thursday they paved it all in about 4 hours. I could see the effort they put in throughout the entire process, and I was able to go from phone call to paved driveway in less than a week. I am a perfectionist (which I understand can make me difficult to work for ;-) and a DIYer for most things because my experience has been that contractors just don't always do things to my standards. But Alex and I were on the same page throughout this process, and I could see the pride in his face for the work he had done. And as I look at it now, it came out even better than I had imagined. My wife thinks I'm crazy to get so excited about a driveway, but I've literally waited 35 years for this dream garage and driveway. I'm very happy that Alex and his team were able to make it happen, I could not give a higher recommendation. Next step is landscaping, I hope I have as much success there :-)
