I have been a patient of Dr Farshidi's for quite a few years having been referred to her after an initial diagnosis of Stage 3 Melanoma. I have been going to Dr Arta for 3 or 4 years now. I go every 6 months since skin cancer runs in my family. I have had excellent care from her and am so happy my primary referred me to her. She is very thorough and attentive as well as personable. I volunteer with a Friends of the library and we often talk about books and ones we've read and loved. I have never had to wait more than 30 minutes and since I always bring a book with me I wish I had more time to read it. In reading some of these reviews, I'm surprised about the office personnel comments. I have always been treated with kindness and respect. I wish I could give 0 starts. I got a referral from my primary care doctor (found out later it is just someone in the Hoag network) for a reaction on my elbow to a steroid shot for tendinitis, lots of discoloration and then my skin was just tearing and ripping off and a few other things. I had to wait about an hour to even get put in the room. There was never an apology or an explanation from the front desk staff. I brought this up when the doctor finally came into the exam room and I said I thought I was owed an apology. I got a tepid one and still no explanation. I told her an apology is meaningless if you have suggest she give one. Every question I asked, every single one was either ignored or she said she didn't know what to do. I walked out of the exam room and the front desk woman asked if I needed a follow up appointment. In my head, my reply was "not if you held a gun to my head." I just left. The whole experience was unpleasant and unproductive. I can take rudeness or incompetence but not both. I called my primary care doctor afterwards and said I was very unhappy. She immediately set up a zoom call, I showed her the elbow and she immediatly suggested getting an estrogen cream for daily application. That worked like a dream. read more

Front office receptionist (Sophia) is horrible. No smile /welcome greeting of any sort when you walk in the door . She literally sits on her A$$ and doesn't acknowledge you for anything. Speaks to you with no eye contact /ask for your IDs and credit cards and just reaches out for it with her hand without getting off her chair . Yet we are standing and waiting for all that to be processed. You would think - to be treated how you treat others . This person knows nothing about that. The doctor is amazing . I had to have 2 additional Mohs surgiest on my face (June 2025) & Dr. Berman did an excellent job. One surgery was by my left sideburn & the other was on my left cheek. Both surgeries went very well. Dr. Berman explains ow to treat the areas before you leave the office & you are also instructions how to treat the Mohs surgery areas at home. Usually, you return to the Office to have the stitches removed. Dr. Berman is an exceptional Mohs Surgeon who care about her patients. I Highly recommend her. What a horrible experience at this office this morning! 4 people at the front desk. I entered as a new patient, no smile, no good morning, no hello, or welcome. Not one of the 4 people looked up and without looking at me or raising her head one girl said: "Sign in" (on the stickers that looked like name tags on a clip board) and "I need your insurance card, photo ID and your credit card", I didn't have my credit card, and was told "then we cant see you" Took my forms I had just filled out, and left. She cant be a very good doctor if she has staff like that greeting her patients. Got another referral from my primary, and hope my next experience is better! It's a bit hard to get an appointment but once you're in, the Dr is so great! She's super friendly and takes her time with me (I always am asking "is this normal?). She has removed a couple moles for me cosmetically and the procedures were pain free and fast! I haven't had any anti-aging procedures yet, but I plan to in a few months and I'll update with before and after photos! All in all, Dr. Farshidi is fantastic and her staff is nice as well! read more

I'm way impressed with Dr. Farshidi! I'm verrry fair and have a TON of moles on my back, which are tough to monitor myself. My previous dermatologist passed away a few years ago and I was overdue for a mole check...the one downside is that I had to wait several months to get in to see her, but it was worth it! The front desk staff were kinda eh (but competent enough. No judgement - everyone has bad or off days, of course), but everyone I saw once I was back in a room were great. And Doctor was so sweet and super thorough during my mole check. She decided to biopsy two of the aforementioned back moles, but I also had a large raised mole on my temple that I asked to have removed, too, so off it came! The procedures themselves were virtually painless, and Doctor explained all of the potential adverse outcomes of the removal on my face (darker skin underneath, scarring, etc). I know informed consent is a thing, but I appreciate that she took the time to explain it rather than just having a nurse shove a paper in my hands for me to sign. I really liked her and wish I had the $$$ to see her for cosmetic stuff as I can only imagine what a stellar job she does. I'll happily be back in six months for my next check! I should have read the reviews before making my appointment. I wish I could say I was treated with care and regard for my health by this doctor's staff from the receptionist to the two nurses in the back. One of them was impatient, both lacked compassion, and the last nurse was incompetent. The receptionist greatest me poorly as she asked me to sign in on her clip board. The wait wasn't too long until the nurse called my back. She demanded that I change my face covering to a clothe mask as it was their office policy. I told her that Newsom's order stated that the people who have medical issues are exempt from wearing a mask. She still demanded that I wear a cloth mask. Finally they put me in a room that the sun was beating down on. With the current Heath condition I was diagnosed with, anhidrosis, I should not be in a warm Or hot environment as it will cause my body temperature to rise. If my body temperature rises I can suffer from heat exhaustion or a heat stroke. Wearing a clothe mask always makes me warmer and sometimes too hot. I end up with a heat hives and too hot to cool down. So she moved me to another room. I told her that I forgot my fan and ice water. She brought me some ice water and lowered the thermostat. I mentioned to her that I would have to change into my skirt because being in the sun hearted room warmed me up too much. She kept knocking to check if I was ready..so I said if you're going to keep knocking you might as well come in even though I'm not ready...impatient nurse. The last nurse came in and asked how I was feeling...I said I'm not feeling well The last nurse said "we cannot see you if you're not feeling well." Well obviously I'm at the doctors office because I don't feel well. She then continued to accuse me of having covid symptoms. I said to her obviously if I felt like I had covid symptoms I wouldn't be at the dermatologist. If you're a smart person reading this you would understand that the reason a person would see the dermatologist is because they are not feeling good about their medical condition such as eczema and anhidrosis. No but this incompetent nurse assumed that I didn't fell well due to covid 19 symptoms, she clearly lacks compassion and capability to understand that people with a skin condition wouldn't feel so good at times especially after being a hot room in their stuffy lack luster office. read more

1st of all, she is the most pleasant professional, joyful, always smiling to me. She is knowledgeable & always willing to share that knowledge and alternatives... She always takes extra bit of time if you need it.. I'm 58, raised on baby oil during summer & buzzed hair from the midwest, So I have a lot of things to be watched. My appointment at this office was complete waste of time and money. I received such a vague diagnosis, so basically none at all. I was prescribed a new (very expensive) medication, it did not work. I really wanted to like Dr. Farshidi and I had seen her a few times and was satisfied with my visits. She didn't try to push any treatments but still seemed to care about my concerns. Little did I know, her office will flat out lie about having appointment availability if they don't like your insurance -- even if they accept your insurance! I can't imagine what they would do if your insurance denies a procedure. A family member has had some skin cancer scares in the past and was looking for a new derm. She went to her GP, specifically got a referral for Dr. Farshidi and when she called to make and appointment, they asked about her previous care and current insurance before telling her to "go to another doctor." Confused, we checked with her insurance and I called and asked what was up. Stephanie, the receptionist, said she had said that, but because the doctor wasn't taking new patients. Why on earth would you need to know insurance information and contact information and previous dermatological history if you knew the doctor wasn't taking new patients?! Stephanie said she would check with the doctor and return my call -- which she never did. I called two weeks later and spoke with the office manager, Maria, who just transferred me right back to Stephanie. She then said that she had just gotten a response from Dr. Farshidi that day (fascinating that I happen to call the day the doctor gets back to her) and was going to call me but that the doctor still didn't have time to see my family member, a potential patient fully capable of paying them! The couple times I saw her, I guess I got lucky that she wasn't crazy busy or apparently thought my insurance was fine enough. If a doctor's office will arbitrarily lie to patient, I could never trust them to actually provide me with proper treatment. read more

I'm so disappointed with this practice. I really liked Dr Arta Farshidi and her manners and respect. I really wanted a long term relationship with her. But her office staff is unbearable. I have been harassed for a copayment of $30. Totally unacceptable!! They even said if I didn't pay it in two weeks I would be sent to collections. They called me 4 times and an email. I once called to ask about my insurance if it was applicable because I read the reviews about them not accepting certain insurance and the girl who picked up her name was Joanna she was extremely rude . Dr. Arta Farshidi is an excellent doctor and I would highly recommend her! I had a suspicious spot on my scalp that had changed from a small skin colored bump, to a pink bump, then red, then brown and black which really scared me that it might be melanoma. :/ My husband had been to her a few times and had good experiences, so I decided I would try her and I am so glad I did! :) I called worried and the office staff got me in right away!! Dr. Farshidi was very professional and kind, along with being attentive and listening to my concerns. She did a biopsy and the results came back faster than expected, with a call from a sweet staff member named Maria, and thank God it was benign!!! This is my first 5-Star review EVER! My primary care physician in Newport Beach, a well-loved and respected Family practitioner at Hoag Medical Group, recommended Dr Farshidi. I asked her: why Dr Farshidi? She informed me that her patients with more complex skin issue and persistent skin disorders were helped by Dr Farshidi's "current knowledge in the field," and her "thoroughness and follow through." Yes, experience matters, but treatment and diagnostic tools have changed over the years. This is why I tend to respect younger physicians with current medical educations, often times more than I do the older "stuck-in their-ways" stubborn doctors that have grown out-of-touch. Dr Farshidi did a fantastic job of not only diagnosing several of my different skin disorders but she began treating them on the spot. I don't know about you, but I don't like coming back over and over again to solve a problem we can solve today. At every turn the patient experience was well supported by her adept staff and nothing less than world-class! I went to Dr. Farshidi for microneedling treatment because of my acne vularis scars. I am very pleased with the results and so are my friends and family.
