I scratched my new Yamaha piano by accident. Luckily Ania restored it at no time. Fully satisfied.

We're very happy with the move since they came over with our last-minute request after an earlier move despite the pouring rain. The truck was huge (see photo) and like new, and very clean inside. While they're not the super big guys that I was hoping for, turned out it didn't matter and may be even better since they're very smart about how best to take things apart and how best to put them back, and were very nimble and efficient with wrapping the furniture. In particular, there was a heavy electrical reclinable sofa that when Macy delivered them to the place as new, their mover literally had to jam it through barely through the elevator and into the apartment due to its size. In fact, another big guy friend and I could not jam it back out, hence the last-minute request for help. When these guys came over, they took a quick look and said no problem, and in a couple of minutes, took the sofa back apart with a few clicks, and a large heavy sofa became very manageable pieces and nicely blanketed and wrapped, and later reassembled them professionally. In the end they handled the whole move smoothly and efficiently. Highly recommend them!

Many movers responded, but few of them were upfront about pricing, and most were quoting $600+. Happy Family Moving gave us the most competitive price, so we went ahead with them. The positives were that they were punctual, courteous, and more than well-equipped to handle the job. Their truck had a cool, mechanical loading dock that made things simpler. However, what soured the experience was at the end. It was a 3-hour minimum, and they completed the move in 2 hours. I paid them the 3-hour minimum price. The older gentleman then got a bit feisty demanding a tip which I obliged, but then he kept asking for more. He asked to be tipped for each hour for each employee that worked. I pointed out they had only worked 2 hours. He then insisted the tip should also apply to the time they spent driving from San Francisco. I sure wish I got paid for my commute time!

I used Jacobsen Transfer to move my Knabe 6'4" mahogany grand piano out of my house to a piano…read morere-builder. They had to bring it down an outside double stairway, one stairway very narrow and steep. I have moved this piano three times before, both in New York City and then across the country. I last brought it into my house thirty years ago, and I know the weight and difficulty first hand as the original movers back then showed up with only two men. I had to assemble some neighbors to assist and bring it up the same stairs into the house. There were five of us, all untrained, yet we somehow made it. This time, Jacobsen correctly had the five men as needed, as well as the proper tools and clearly the experience to ensure the safe descent. It was like watching a well choreographed team as they worked together with singular guidance to bring it down to street level without a hitch. If I ever bring in another piano, I know who I'll call on again. Also note that we had to reschedule the job a few times due to wet weather, but they would not risk the move unless they could ensure a safe environment as well as having enough men for the job. While some lighter pianos could be moved with fewer hands, they well knew the size and weight of my piano required five and wouldn't attempt without, nor would they add any risk that might be caused by inclement weather; exactly the right protocols. Hats off to a great company and the team, and much thanks to all.

The floor had all of the upright and grand models we were interested in; Chris gave us plenty of time to explore them. He also plays beautifully, and was able to bring out the differences in various models. We had some issues with delivery of the piano, to include the states of its initial arrival. Those were beyond the direct control of San Mateo Piano, but they were very responsive and reasonable in finding timely resolutions. Ultimately we are quite happy with our purchase, and would readily buy from San Mateo Piano again.

I turned to google/yelp to call around to see if anyone would assist. I called over 10 people but this location stood out! I called and the phone was answered by Andrew. Gave him the specifics of the piano and he was very knowledgable. He also confirmed that the pedal is no longer being manufactured by the company because of its age. He asked for my name and number and maybe he called a warehouse, supervisor or friend I don't know and called me back within 30 mins to re affirm my dillema. The reason for this 5 star review is the customer service. I didn't even spend a dollar in this establishment but they employed a empathetic patient employee that was able to go above and beyond to help. It's so rare in today's climate, personally I feel like everyone is rushing you off the phone and not truly listening to people's concerns. When I get a new piano I will definitely use this piano service!
