We go in every year to celebrate birthdays. Plenty of items to choose from, super friendly staff…read morewilling to help even if you have never done this before. They are super patient and will teach you all the basics needed to create some beautiful items. Our youngest kid loves this place and now has the whole family going to create and just have fun away from all digital noise. They fire everything for you and take great care to ensure you get a good looking piece back. Can't say enough or share the appropriate nice things about these folks. Walking distance to great restaurants and shopping so really easy to plan a great day that includes a stop at this location. Parking is out front or across the street.

We were in SD for my birthday weekend getaway. We had reservations for a restaurant at dinner time…read moreso we had time during the day to do something so we decided to give pottery another go. We took a class at a pottery place in Laguna Beach last year so we wanted to give it a try again because it was pretty fun! We did the one time class pottery wheel try it class. It was $80 per person. Which is on the pricier side, compared to the other class we took last time. I will say this class was more informative than our last class. Our instructor taught us how to start working with our clay, demonstrated how to do it, worked with us, helped us out, showed us different techniques and steps on how to form our pottery. It's was definitely more challenging this time around because I think we didn't have to do as much in our last class we did. My boyfriend said he didn't like the pace of the class and having to work with a whole class. Our last class had less people so it was more intimate and slower, as for this class it was a little bit more of a faster pace. In the end we made 2 pieces. First one was like a practice piece and the second one was when you kind of got the hang of it and the final product looked better. We were only able to take one piece home. Our instructor said she typically does 2 pieces because she teaches faster but we are only able to take one. Honestly, I didn't like my first one too much so I was okay with that but I know some other people in the class wanted to take both. After you are done you have to clean up everything and put everything away. Then you chose the color glaze you want from a choice of 4 or 5. They glaze it for you then they tell you when it's ready for pick up. We are not from SD but it's an excuse to come back down to pick up our pottery.

Treating customers like this doesn't make them feel welcome. The kids and I quickly left. Can you imagine being one of the owners kids, and the types of dictator rules that they surely have in their life!??

Such a fun place!…read more Can be so fun to do on any occasion and is so easy too! I am not an artist, but I still enjoyed this a lot and would happily come back! There's so much parking at liberty station and the place is easy to find! There are so many different options to choose from with the prices directly on each item which is really nice. You do have to wait a few days to collect the pottery (they fire it up), so make sure you're not leaving town and can pick it up!

The space is mostly catered to kids, but we saw people of all ages crafting and chatting. On a warmer day, we probably would have sat outside as it can get really crowded inside. We were never bumped, but sometimes kids would run by on their way to get paint. My only other complaint (which is more so my fault) was that we sat at stools at a shorter table so I was hunched over for a while. I'm just old. The staff was really friendly, and I like that there's a BYOB policy. I would probably suggest going later in the evening to avoid all the birthday parties as it was pretty quiet when we came to pick up our piece near closing.

The MORNING of the party when I'm running to pick up cake, ice, etc. I called Michael's from my car & asked if balloons were ready. This was approx. 2 pm. The man on the phone said " we can't find it". Not sure what that means so I asked what I should do next? He gave the phone to a woman who said, "bring your reciept to prove you bought it." When I purchased the lady said, "you're all set, you don't need anything else, just show up and we'll have it ready for you". I have no idea where the receipt is 2 months later!! I had to drive home turn my home upside down & found it. Sped to Michaels where they had my ballons by the register. I walked up and said "hi, are those my ballons"? She said "yeah, here" AND WALKED AWAY. Because I'm the nicest person you'll ever meet rather than run out I wanted a reason for all this so I asked "do we know what went wrong" to which this lady who looked like the manager replied, "the lady who took your order was crazy, she doesn't work here anymore". What?!?! Super unprofessional. Manager didn't even look at my receipt or at least apologize. Horrible experience. I will NEVER buy my balloons from Michael's & will try & stear clear of any purchases in the future.

Holy crap I didn't even know they made Cream Savers anymore. Apparently, if you need them in your life, you need to go to Michael's.

For a couple of months I've been searching for gemstones and geodes for my son's birthday, and I…read morerandomly stumbled upon this place while driving through the area. I am NOT disappointed -- the variety they offer is incredible. The moment I walked in, the energy was amazing. I made it about halfway through the store when a man in a beautiful blue polo shirt approached me with a fan of SuperLotto tickets. He told me to choose one. I pointed to one, and he laughed and said, "It must be your first time in here. Take one for yourself." I honestly thought it was a magic trick He asked what brought me in, and when I mentioned it was for a kid's birthday party, he explained that everything is sold by weight. He handed me a basket and told me to fill up the container with the colored gems and rocks. So I did... plus more. I walked the aisles at least 7-8 times because I just couldn't decide -- everything was beautiful. I spent way more time in there than I planned to. It's a family‑owned business, and Shlomo is such a kindhearted man. He even offered us a Nutella dessert. The whole experience was warm, welcoming, and honestly unforgettable. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this place. I'm definitely coming back with my son so he can "dig" the place too. A true hidden gem. I picked up a few large gems, 20 geodes, a basketful of gems, heart shaped rose quartz, a cat bronze art. well worth it! I was drawn probably because he shares the same birthday as my best friend!

She probably spent around 15-20 minutes with us. I got a sterling silver dolphin cuff/bracelet which they happily polished for me. It takes a little while to find the right size/style but it is worth it! I will definitely be coming back.
