Nothing says welcome to your hotel like getting hit in the face with the stench of curry in the…read morefront office, then walk into your room to find a rat trap on the counter and one in the corner. Then not to mention the dirty washcloth on the shower floor...... am i gonna catch something by staying here? I reserved the room on booking.com, when i arrive i paid for the room, then before going into the room i ran by to grab some food at fast food and came back. Immediately after seeing it i went to the front and the person in the front office told me because it was done online they can't give me a refund. I called the website and they said that wasn't true it's entirely up to the hotel and their policy. I went back and asked her policy and she couldn't give me an answer... she said it's up to someone e else and they aren't there. She offered me a different room or to clean it again or she can give me $20 out of her own pocket in place of a refund. I don't feel that is the company policy. I really want to go somewhere else and regret being here. Knowing there is a rodent problem it'll be uncomfortable sleeping in there... but her response to that was "mice are part of life and nothing can be done about it". DO NOT STAY HERE!!! .....and now as I'm sitting here awake and paranoid about rodents crawling on me, I'm noticing dried drips of something on the headboard... you can come to a conclusion about what needs cleaned up here.

This is the most inexpensive motel in the area but it is still way over priced for the…read moreaccommodations. I'm pretty sure the bedding hadn't been changed because there were still food crumbs in the bed. When I lifted the toilet lid there was a load in the toilet. The carpet in the room I stayed is in desperate need of a steam cleaning. The door to the room had huge gaps and you can hear every single passing vehicle on the Main Street. The Hotels.com listing says there is free breakfast so when I was at the front desk I asked about it and the young very irritated young lady says breakfast is held on the small dirty counter behind me, uh no thanks. The Hotels.com listing also has this room at $74 but after a hidden $18 cleaning fee (the money is definitely not used for this) and taxes the room cost $103. At least double it's value. I will never be back and that's a guarantee...

I'm going to try to be as fair as I can with this review, but I am not happy…read more I had some business in Carlsbad, NM, the next town south of here. Carlsbad has become an oil town that is booming so it's nearly impossible to get a hotel room. I found this hotel which seemed reasonable and booked 2 nights. Plans were changing rapidly so when I checked in I immediately told the young lady at the desk that I probably would be staying only one night. No problem she tells me just cancel with the third party provider, Expedia, before check in the following day. I did as instructed, but the manager "Sammie", refused to honor the cancellation even though I followed the hotels instruct. So now I do a little research on this hotel. Turns out it used to be a Holiday Inn Express, but when Holiday Inn wanted them to renovate and upgrade, they said NO, and gave up the Holiday Inn franchise. Turns out they are in financial trouble so I guess any revenue they get in, they'll do anything to keep it, even lie. From what I saw and heard, this hotel won't be around very much longer. On the one night I did stay there were only about five cars in the parking lot, including mine. Look, aside from the need to renovate and upgrade, it's not horrible, you almost feel like you're in an old Holiday Inn. BTW, they still use the old HIE code for wifi access. There breakfast is minimal at best, less than what Holiday inn used to give. On the day we did stay we chose to go to a local restaurant for breakfast. So a lie and bad customer relations got them an extra one night of money. If Sammie can sleep at night then so be it. When I go back I will not be staying there, no way, and I will let everyone one I meet there no about their dishonest practices.

The Legacy Inn is very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a very good choice and delicious!…read moreThe staff was very friendly and helpful. The price was very good! A hidden gem. Would definitely stay here again.
