Amanda was there to make sure everything looked perfect, and that the whole wedding was completely set up, even though I decided just about an hour before the start time I wanted it to be moved inside. Besides supervising and doing most of the set up, getting the rentals ready for pick up before I even realized the truck had arrived, herding family, and making sure payment got to everyone Amanda was also super responsive in the months leading up to the wedding, contacted all the vendors in advance, held onto most of the decorations for a couple weeks before, and oversaw the donation of the lawn games we used to a daycare and a hospital. Overall the day of coordinating was great and I didn't have to worry about a thing. Amanda checked in with me throughout the morning to make sure everything was as I had wanted. And she did so much more than just day of coordinating. I still can't believe we got so much and such good help for as low a price as we got. Dixon Wedding (June 22, 2019)…read more Just over a year ago, we had run in to a snag in planning our daughter's wedding in trying to find a venue in San Diego. I called the Holiday Inn Bayside and talked with Lindsey. On our first visit out to California, my wife and I met with Lindsey and from the start, we were very impressed with her knowledge on planning weddings. I had told her our situation of living in Maryland and trying to plan this wedding in San Diego. At that time, she offered up her assistance. We accepted, not knowing what to expect but not having many options. With that decision, that day became the most perfect beautiful stress free day that we had had in a long time. From that point forward, everything went as smooth as could be...and really, even better than that. Lindsey worked with us and helped plan everything. From our first meeting, she recommended everything from options for the DJ, cleaners to steam the wedding gown and everything in between. For the reception, Lindsey guided us in making the best choices in the set-up of the venue, provided ideas and options from table linens to chair sashes and she personally made wood trivets for our flower center pieces and candel votives. We had some decorations and flowers delivered to the reception area and Lindsey used her creativity to create a beautiful setting that our daughter could only have imagined. Lindsey had truly listened to our daughters plans and ideas and made her vision a reality! During the entire reception, the food and beverage options she suggested were perfect for the number of guests we had. Lindsey kept the entire event on schedule from the moment the Bride and Groom entered to the very last dance. Everything was timed out perfect and nothing was missed. At one point some uninvited guests tried to enter our party and she quietly and discreetly escorted them away. Lindsey made sure the Bride and Groom and their parents had nothing to worry about for the entire evening. She also made sure the their cups of the signature drinks, which was suggested by Lindsey, were kept filled and even worked with our daughter to help her bustle her dress. We had never planned a wedding before and like all parents of the Bride, wanted our daughter's wedding to be perfect. Lindsey made that happen. There are so many details, options and choices that need to be made when planning a wedding and Lindsey is that person you want to help you prepare and succeed in making your event even more special than you would ever imagine. Two sorrella events coordinated and did the florals for my wedding in December 2019 and within the…read morefirst hour of the reception I was crying like a 3 year old begging my husband to take me home. I am shocked! These girls seemed so organized and on top of everything during the planning process. They made it seem like we had the same creative vision and style. In the end, they didn't even deliver on THEIR IDEAS & for sure, everything I had told them was ignored. The weddings was such an epic let down from the very beginning. Issue 1: The bouquets were tiny and the girls were rude about it. When we hired the girls I showed them and texted them pictures of what I wanted & one of my big things was the bridesmaids bouquets specifically being medium sized, bc if they look too small it just looks cheap. When the bouquets were dropped off, mine was unimpressive and even though I specifically wanted Dusty Miller and dried berries in my bouquet, there were none. BUT EVEN WORSE my bridesmaids bouquets were absolutely tiny. They looked like they were for children, not grown women. They were probably slightly bigger the size of a woman's hand from stem to flowers. I was in tears & the videographer had to calm me down saying he understood I was upset but if I was crying it would also ruin the video. I texted the coordinators on a group chat: "Hey ladies, I thought the bridesmaid bouquets were going to be a medium size?" Instead of concern the response was: "those are medium size" - no apology! This was followed with "they have the same steam count as your picture". These looked NOTHING like the picture I had sent. Issue #2: our caterer's deposit had never been received by the venue and they were not being allowed to set up the food at the venue. This was because two sorrella's couldn't do their job and "coordinate" communication, making sure that all vendors were ready to go on the day of the wedding. My dad, instead of going straight to the wedding photos had to go to various atms along with the rest of my family to withdraw $1,500 in cash at 2pm on a Saturday when all the banks are already closed. Issue #3: Our wedding reception was supposed to start at 6pm - this did not happen because these coordinators were not ready. I was not allowed inside the venue by Denise because they wanted everything to be "a surprise". I didn't want to cause problems so I said okay. If I could go back I would've told her to get out of my way so I could set the wedding up myself. Luckily for me, my family and amazing maid of honor isn't as nice as I am and they all forced their way in: THIS SAVED MY WEDDING. Issue #4: The coordinators were not using my place cards & they claimed I had never sent the seating chart. My aunt called them out on this lie and they tried discrediting her saying she wasn't an authorized contact person when she was marked as my family's MAIN contact person to assist "with all issues". The coordinators then changed their story, and they said everything was MY FAULT for sending them the chart too late. My aunt quotes, "well this is Rebecca's fault, not mine & I will say that to her face if I have to" Yes, that's great - let's run up & start a fight with the bride who paid you. My aunt obviously went off on her at this point. My dad trying to calm the fighting women down said that they (my family) would come inside and do the setting up work so that my seating arrangements would be followed. The coordinators agreed & my family set things up. They should've cut my family and bridal party a check for doing their jobs. issue #5: apparently my wedding favors weren't good enough for sorrella's event bc they were never taken out & some favors were even used as decorations! During the planning process I had told the girls clearly that I wanted a table set up by the enternece where guests could leave gifts and cards, and at that table I wanted the favors set up in sections so guests could grab them on their way in. My wedding favors were left in a back room, I had to go to the back during the reception and hand them out to my guests myself. Issue #6: after I was lectured about sticking to the schedule, our coordinators were nowhere to be found when it was time for cake cutting. We had to make the announcement. We then proceeded to wait for a plate and forks for the cake for a relatively long amount of time. We got the plate, never got forks so there go those pictures too I guess. This of course put us further behind schedule as well. Issue #7: I told the girls how I wanted the tables set up. Specifically saying I wanted the dinner plates at the table. My dinner plates were stacked by the catering station buffet style. The table set up was just ugly, and nothing like we originally discussed. Over all it was a terrible experience, just hire someone else. I don't want anyone else regretting their wedding like this. A $40k event in total, and I feel ROBBED.
