We knew we wanted to get married at an art museum, so once we decided on the San Diego Museum of Art for our venue, we interviewed a few suggested planners from their vendor list. I could not possibly say enough incredible things about this woman! From start to finish she was beyond professional, calming, accommodating, and always though one step ahead. I was having a wedding of around 200 guests and while I had a vision for what I wanted, I had too many opinions from family and friends that were messing with my head. I contacted several wedding planners, and Gina was by far the most professional and followed up with me after we spoke over the phone. We had two face to face meetings, she attended two of my vendor meetings, and we had endless text messages, emails, and phone calls. I met with Gina at our dream venue (The Dana on Mission Bay). We were concerned about being able to afford the venue due to the minimums and were afraid we'd have to do a mid-week or Sunday wedding. After our meeting Gina walked right into The Dana and negotiated the minimum for a Friday wedding down to the Sunday minimum price. She saved us $2,000 before we ever even booked her. She was so dynamic and engaging I couldn't help but feel immediately at ease with her. Needless to say we booked her then and there. (Right after booking our date at the venue!). I only paid for the "day-of" services as we were working on a tight budget. Although I opted for the smallest package she offered Gina responded to every single question and concern either over email or phone immediately. I cannot tell you how comforting this was to a bride who was 1. graduating law school 2. studying for the bar and 3. taking the bar a week before her wedding! On top of quickly responding Gina gave me a TON of advice on everything from vendors to etiquette. She recommended every vendor I booked with the exception of one (who was actually the only vendor there was a small issue with). She gave me recommendations that were within my budget and each and every one blew me away. She ran my rehearsal like a pro, it was quick and efficient. The day of my wedding Gina was able to be in a million places at once. She had an assistant with her but I really believe this superwoman could have done it all even if she didn't. She put me at ease each time I got nervous about one thing or another. But by this point I was so confident in her that I wasn't even concerned about the venue, setup, decorations, etc. The best part was she was such a quiet presence that you wouldn't have known she was a wedding planner if you didn't know it! She quietly ran the show with PERFECTION. There wasn't one hiccup on my day, or if there was she never let me know. For that I will always be grateful. We had given Gena a retainer for our wedding day of April 11, 2020 August 2019, we met in January 2020 for about an hour to go over our timeline. The next time we were going to see each other was the day of the rehearsal in order for me to hand her over all of our details for the day, party favors, name cards, seating charts, etc. we hired her for her day of coordination services only. She did not help me coordinate anything else other than the one meeting where she helped type out a timeline. The day that California received notice that we need to go on lockdown because of the coronavirus she then asked me for her second payment which was due back in November 2019, we never received an invoice for that, we were going to give her final payment the day of the wedding. I explained to her that the new wedding date had not even been planned yet but that we were hoping for a date in August, being that we were all in lockdown together and the uncertainty of what was to come, We asked her to be patient with the new date and that we would be giving her final payment when that happens. She instead insisted on her second payment in which she never gave us an invoice for five months ago, or that she would not hold a new date for us at all. We thought it was very insensitive of her to not even hold a new date while we wait To see what happens to the world which was beyond our control, her email to us was abrupt, she said she was canceling us, and would no longer be working with us at all. We gave her $450 to have one meeting, and for good faith for her to work with us in the future. All of our other vendors, or a videographer our florist our DJ, the venue we're all gracious and understanding that we were all in this together, that they will patiently wait to see how everything would unfold, none of them asked for additional payments to work with our future date. It is obvious that all that was on her mind is money, not feelings, not sensitive about the situation, not patient, I would not work with her again even though my husband tried to give her new dates, she left a very bad impression on us, acting selfishly and impatiently. Shame on her for keeping our retainer fee for only doing an hour of work. Be cautious in working with her. We wanted new our day to Be very special and consideration of everything we had to go through to delay our special celebration. So I started emailing coordinators to get pricing and availability around 10 pm one night. Gina was the only one who got back to me RIGHT AWAY. Gina is the best! I am actually a vendor and as a Wedding DJ, there is nothing worse than working with an inexperienced coordinator who doesn't know what's going on. Gina clearly exemplifies the role of a coordinator. She is fun to work with, she gets things done, she is often seen going above & beyond to make sure the brides are happy. I have worked with others before where I basically had to take on the role of the coordinator because things were not being done on time or correctly. Gina was fantastic. We hired her as a "month-of" coordinator, but she was there for us several months out, meeting with us in person and over the phone, answering any and all questions we had. She provided valuable insight into the planning process, gave us several iterations of a detailed "to-do" sheet, and made the actual day of the wedding unfold flawlessly. Personally, I was skeptical of hiring a coordinator because I figured that we'd already found all the pros so what's the point of hiring someone to tell them what to do? They should already understand that. But now that I've been through the process, I get why a coordinator is so important. We cannot say enough good things about Gina!! My now husband and I live in New York City but decided to get married in La Jolla, CA. Gina orchestrated a wedding we couldn't have imagined when the process of planning it all started. She joined our journey right after we selected our venue. She impressed us in our first call with her professionalism & experience, energetic attitude, and structured approach to planning. She offers fair rates and was upfront with the services and value provided across planning tiers. From Day 1, she was flexible with our desires and positive and accommodating, even when we vacillated on what we wanted for our big day. Coordinating a ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and after party for a 250-person wedding featuring a customized outdoor Greek-orthodox ceremony and incorporating no less than 24 bridesmaids and groomsmen, dual officiants, and 6 maids of honor / best men speeches was no easy task, and in seven months no less! She helped us find the perfect vendors - flowers, photography, stylist, and band were all top-notch, which we owe to Gina's recommendations. She even offered to help us coordinate multiple other wedding weekend events when we expressed that we were struggling with execution and handled a ton of contracting with our venue - definitely above-and-beyond service. She found workarounds for conflicts between our venue and external vendors to ensure that everything important to us as a couple could be included in the celebration. She was constantly communicative and responsive to texts and emails (7 days a week and nearly 24/7! ...including gentle prodding and timely follow up when we took too long to make decisions and get back to her! ) - we read reviews praising Gina's commitment to communication with vendors and couples before hiring her, and we absolutely found it to be true in our planning experience. Perhaps most impressive was the feedback we heard from our vendors - every single vendor, whether they had newer or longstanding working relationships with Gina, said she is the best planner they've partnered with and absolutely the easiest to work with. And when the big day finally came, everything went flawlessly (at least to our knowledge! any potential derailments did not impact the bride & groom!)! She seamlessly coordinated the inclusion of unplanned speeches, a long-running ceremony, and even a non-standard wedding pizza cutting. Gina was the first vendor we hired after getting engaged and of the thousands of decisions we would make in the next year, it was the best. At first, my husband and I thought we could handle the planning on our own. We are very organized and had a clear vision of what we wanted. After meeting with her for our consultation we immediately felt comfortable and confident that she could help create our vision. We opted for the "I Do" package which included unlimited contact and was worth every penny. We wanted our wedding to be unique and memorable and right away she helped find a venue that suited our requirements perfectly. Gina put us in contact with other amazing vendors that were instrumental in pulling off the best night of our lives. Although we had an idea of some of the vendors we wanted to work with Gina helped us find those we didn't know existed, negotiated contracts and always went to bat for us if there was a discrepancy or dispute during the planning process. Gina was with us every step of the way and checked in with us to make sure we were on target and that no stone was left unturned. Gina is a professional in every sense of the word and responded to every email, text and phone call with almost uncanny speed and thoroughness. She always has a positive attitude and even when I was stressed she was able to put me at ease. She is meant to be a coordinator. She is friendly, organized, patient, punctual and tough when she needs to be to get the job done. My husband and I were in contact with her so much during the year, we felt she became a friend and when planning got stressful she was even like a therapist. She kept us calm in spite of mounting stresses as the wedding day approached. Gina's experience was evident in the way she helped us select all the components of our wedding. She suggested elements that we didn't initially consider to be a high priority, but in the end, went a long way in making our night so memorable. For example, we didn't want to have a cake but she recommended a very reasonably priced vendor who makes delicious cakes and our guests have raved about it ever since. The nature of our venue required us to bring in more than the typical number of vendors, and Gina kept every one of them on the same page; arranging meetings, organizing walk-throughs and tracking payments. And, of course, Gina was there on the big day to ensure that everything went off without a hitch and that my husband and I could truly relax and enjoy our wedding. Her work didn't end there, however; even after the event, Gina worked with the venue's lost-and-found to ensure that our guests received the items they had left behind.
