I stopped here on a whim the other day when I was walking to the beer hall that is located at the same address and was so glad I did. I recently watched the Seinfeld cigar episode and by association, it was started playing in my memory movies and I immediately decided I was going to be a buyer. I'm only giving it four stores because as first-time cigar buyer, I wish I was given a little breakdown of the choices and suggestions on other items I might need. When I got home and started watching youtube videos, I quickly realized I probably should have gotten myself a cigar cutter and perhaps a mini blow torch lighter. As I kept on going down the cigar rabbit hole on youtube, I learned how to peel off the cigar cap and also how to give it a sufficient light with a simple bic-type lighter. I then found myself watching hilarious videos of the great Arnold Schwarzenegger smoking cigars and talking about them. I know cigars are bad for you but I bought two, one for me and one for my best friend. We both shared them over an ice cold glass of Whiskey and felt like proper kings... until we both got dizzy. Been going to this shop for 3years now, all hand rolled cigars depending on cigar filler and wrapper differ. Owner Frank will help you out just need to be straight forward on what your looking for. Atmosphere here is great chill and relax they don't serve alcohol but don't mind if you bring your own in. Special orders done quickly love the custom cigar labels he does have gotten them for countless occasions throughout the years. Good spot to stop by after lunch go in for a smoke and watch a game parking can be tough around here. Depending on what you like in a cigar they have its just a matter of asking haven't been steered wrong yet. After trying out a bunch of cigar shops around the Bronx, me and a few friends decided to stick with this one. They have the freshest cigars, hand rolled. There are about 20 seats so plenty of space, nice leather seats, friendly staff. They don't serve alcohol but you're allowed to bring your own. They do serve espressos though. read more

While in the neighborhood I wanted to try a new smoke so I headed into Arthur Avenue Cigars. They have a decent selection of their own hand rolled smokes which are made with tobaccos from various Countries. The store has a lounge where you can sit and watch the game while enjoying a good smoke or you can just bag and run if need be like me. The three stars are based on the store and the selection of smokes. The person working the store was rude and short and just couldn't be bothered to answer questions regarding what fillers they use in their cigars although I did pull it out of him. I did walk out with three smokes which I feel where a little overpriced for a local Bronx cigar, but that is just me with a 500+ collection of established brand name cigars. So if your into herfing and happen to be in the area of Arthur Ave I would give them a chance, I did and if you need someone to roll cigars at your next event Arthur Avenue Cigars offers such a service. I think this place is just what the old neighborhood needed. I like the fact that the vast majority of the cigars are made in-house, and that specific/custom orders are taken regularly. The place just opened up and yet I already feel drawn to it. Have purchased a few different cigars here, but I have to admit that I am a fan of "Gordo" and I will be trying some of the other specialty cigars soon enough. This place is only getting better, so give them a "how you doing" and come inside where the air has a nice oaky/leathery scent. read more

Stopped in here with a friend on a slow day. Very comfy sofas, classy decor, and a pretty helpful guy behind the desk. I think they make the cigars here; there's a rolling table toward the front of the store. I wish they had a bit more of a selection, but overall I'll definitely be back here next time I'm in the area. read more
