The one star down is due to the fact I was told it was halibut today as they had a few more before they switched to serving salmon. I mentioned a squid allergy, and they took it very very seriously, giving me a digital menu that was filtered but what has crustaceans or is exposed to crustaceans, and my food had a little green flag with a toothpick marking it as allergen free to me. It was unnecessary, I told them I can pick it out of a dish and still eat it, but the gesture was appreciated. My group enjoyed their Butterflied Sea Bass (£28) and Risotto Verde (£19). My portion of the meal came to £45.28 total.

The black truffled eggs were good especially with the entire surface covered in black truffles, but to me the toast was a bit dry and the creamy eggs weren't enough to overcome the dryness in the toast. The star of the meal was the honey ripe mango. It was perfectly ripe with the hint of basil and kaffir lime in each bite. The presentation was simply beautiful. The decor and ambience is casual but at the same time elegant. There are elegant details everywhere starting at the entrance door and throughout the restaurant - the table top, the metal stamped H, I, D or E letters imbedded randomly on the edge of the tables, to the hearth where their pastries and bread are baked and showcased, and the opaque glassed kitchen above the main dining area where you see outlines of the staff working. Breakfast at HIDE was a pleasant and memorable dining experience. Will try dinner service next time. The one night I ordered food, I enjoyed their buttermilk fried chicken that was grand with the sriracha and lime yoghurt. That was wicked tasty. It was just as tasty when I had the leftover cold a couple of days later. The way I gauge a bar ultimately is how they follow the drink orders to an extra dirty gin martini. We wish we had bought her her own meal. Pathetic amount of meat and quite frankly the worst roast potatoes I have ever had. Most definitely reheated but not enough so they were stale and Luke warm. Don't get me started on the gravy. Not worth the money and so many better places to go for a roast and feel welcomed in the area.
