The instructors are very laid back and Stefan is always cracking jokes with his hilarious names for certain moves. He takes his time to make sure we get the basic right and does not call out individuals even if they are doing it wrong. Instead he observes and let you learn on your own and will give you pointers. I like that both instructors will dance as the other role so you know exactly how it should feel, I find this method much more effective. We take the bachata class every Tuesday, which is led by Stefan.The dance program is always new so you're not repeating but he adjusts it for new dancers so others can easily come in and follow. Carolyn is always an excellent instructor who teaches salsa every Tuesday at 7:30pm. She really knows how to find the minute details to help refine your move. I am terrible with my hand gestures and don't really know how to add the little feminine move. When we did the shoulder twist I look like a zombie but she spend extra time to help me refine it. It was super helpful that she tells me to resemble more common moves or spelling out letters. This helped me visualize how to make the move! I recommend doing this even if you're not training for your wedding first dance. Latin dancing has a whole community and there is so much these guys are doing here. They are creating a community. Every st 3rd Friday's they host a social dance party at their studio so you meet people and get to experience it in real life...did I mention a taco truck too? Just come a few times and you'll see!

Some of the teachers are quite nice but have little to no experience teaching and most of them have never danced professionally. Many of them are just high level students who have been promoted to the studio company. It is simply not a pre-professional school any more. The director and other teachers yell at students often. Substitutes are common, so much so, that at times it is difficult to ascertain who the actual teacher of the class is. Communication is very poor. Other reviewers who cited the lack of performance opportunity are correct. Most of the students are given 30 seconds or so of performance time with enormous amounts of rehearsal time required. The tuition continues to rise and the quality and hours of training continue to decline. It is too bad, because it was a good pre-professional program. Unfortunately, most of the teachers with performance or teaching experience have left. Everyone who remains, including the director, are focused on other projects. No one seems to be invested in making this a great or even good quality pre-professional program.

She worked with us to choreograph a dance to our first dance song and tailored it according to what we were comfortable with along with our dance skills (none). She was incredibly friendly and flexible with scheduling our lessons when we weren't able to make it on the initial proposed dates. Working with her made us less nervous and she was very encouraging even though dancing was new to us. As we practiced more, Jenn incorporated more elements if she felt that we could handle it and I'm really glad she was so encouraging and helpful because we would have just ended up swaying on the dancefloor to the beat, which would have been fine but not as impressive. Even though we kept our dance rather simple, we had so many guests compliment us on our dance and tell us how elegant and professional it looked. Donna is exceptional with teaching young children, teens and adults. Her hand selected dance intructors are equally as good at giving supportive guidance and making their students feel at ease as they learn. The highlight of the year is when Round Hill does their "Maiden's Visit" ballet show, based on a Grimm Fairy Tale. The costumes and production value of the shows are outstanding, and watching all the young participants parade around dressed as flowers, fairies, or water sprites is too cute. In addition to the classical ballet dance classes held at Round Hill, there are Flamenco guitar and dance, jazzercize, traditional Indian dance, and karate instructors that rent out space in the three large studios. Sound systems are included and independent in each room, and the marley dance mats are well maintained and clean. My son will be taking dance and karate here once he is old enough, and my wife and I will continue to encourage all our friends to bring their business here.
