When my now-husband and I first dined at one of Santa Barbara Catering's restaurants, we immediately knew we had to have them cater our wedding. The variety of delectable food items made our mouths water and the taste is like nothing we've ever had before! Every hors d'oeuvre and entree we sampled had outstanding flavor and was displayed beautifully, even as a buffet. The vegetables were fresh and cooked just right, and the tortilla and parmesan crusted chicken breast was to die for! Our guests are STILL texting me saying how much they loved the food we had at the wedding! Not only was the food delicious, but Santa Barbara Catering's service and attention to detail was second to none. Our tables, linens and decor were laid out exactly as I envisioned. The beautiful colored napkins and fruitwood chairs really classed up our event and made the reception all the more gorgeous. Nobody was ever without food or drink in hand thanks to the fabulous wait staff who was working our event. There was even a gentleman who came all the way out to where we were taking photos with our photographers (which was a several minute walk from the reception) just to bring my groom and I water and hors d'oeuvres to make sure we weren't getting faint or too hungry to continue. We had the most beautiful, delicious dinner we could possibly have hoped for and we cannot recommend Artisan by Santa Barbara Catering Company enough! So Santa Barbara was one the venders on the list for our venue and when we picked out our food everything was good.. and Corinne was very helpful and always kept in touch leading up the wedding.. the only thing I took couple stars off is that few days after we paid the rest of the total in which we did 14 days before the date.. we unexpectedly got an email saying that the chef needed another chef with her and it was going to cost us another $85.. we didn't pay but I just thought it was weird a catering company that does this everyday/every weekend the chef wouldn't k ow a head of time she needed help.. read more

We chose Santa Barbara to cater our wedding at the Phoenix Art Museum. I contacted them and three other companies on the museum's list of preferred caterers, and they beat the competition. They responded to my request and sent several sample menus with pricing. Their per person cost was higher than Fabulous Food, but the total cost was a good $2,000 lower. That's because they don't add on additional fees for labor, setup, etc. Lauren was a joy to work with. She responded to all my questions professionally and in a timely manner. She was patient with me through multiple menu changes. They even let us customize the menu with our own recipes. In the final walkthrough, Lauren thought of several details and clearly had a vision of what needed to happen. She helped brainstorm clever ways to keep rental costs down. I felt like she was on our side throughout the whole process. The tasting we attended was a group tasting at the Tempe Center for the Arts. That meant we didn't get to try the food on our exact menu, but it was a sampling of what they provide. We weren't all that impressed with the tasting--it tasted like pretty standard catering fare--but the food at the actual wedding was amazing. The stuffed chicken breast with spinach and fontina was divine. The presentation was beautiful (see photo of the buffet), and the staff were very accommodating. At the reception my dad and I decided to give the leftovers to Meals on Wheels, and they were happy to make the switch. Santa Barbara rocked my wedding this last weekend at the Tempe Center for the Arts. Throughout the whole process the entire staff was prompt and responsive, able to cater (yuck, yuck) to our every whim. At TCA you only get one choice of caterer, which kind of annoyed me, but Santa Barbara brought it in the end. Our menu included 8 varieties of Italian apps, a glorious buffet with some of the best potatoes I have had in my life and a great bar which I was able to customize down to having 2 mini-kegs of Four Peaks for my out of town lushes. Cake and treats from Honey Moon Sweets were included to everyone's adoration. Totally pleased! read more

So, after getting a menu proposal from Santa Barbara a few months ago, I was excited to try their tasting and almost positive that I would use them for my upcoming wedding. They sound so good in theory, and when I have been to the Farm at South Mountain, the food has been great. Well, we went to a tasting for the catering and it was so meh. I was shocked. They had a chicken wrapped in prosciutto that was just dry and not flavorful. Their mashed potatoes tasted like it came from a box. The short rib was ok, but not as good as you would think. The good parts were the salads and dips. Those were very good. I have heard great things about this catering company, but, when this was their showing at a tasting, it made me too nervous about what the food would be like at the event to use them for my wedding. We use Santa Barbara Catering at work all the time and it's great! The sandwiches are HUGE and flavorful - hardly typical catering sandwiches. I love the turkey with cranberry sauce, the roast beef on herb focaccia bread and tuna salad on a ciabatta roll. Mouth watering yet? Plus, the pasta salad is full of veggies and super addicting. I always look forward to the lunch leftovers in the kitchen when we have Santa Barbara Catering. I can only echo all of the positive sentiments previously mentioned. I too was at The Farm at South Mountain and had no choice of caterer, but with food this fabulous it made no difference. The food was the most commented upon aspect of the wedding by our guests, all of whom agreed it was easily the best wedding food they've ever had and was delicious wedding or not. And these are not easily pleased eaters! In fact, the food was even better than at the tasting! What more could I ask for? We were undecided on a second entree choice after our initial tasting and SBC let us select 2-3 things to try at no additional cost at another tasting. They made the process painless. We even decided to go with their dessert bar options based on the tasting and forgo the cake - why have just one dessert when you can have 4?! We had excellent service with fixed plates for myself and the groom (we got to eat first), were attended to all night by the staff in a ninja-like fashion. Santa Barbara catered and provided all of the rentals from tables and chairs to linens for our wedding at the Desert Botanical Garden. The wait staff were very professional and I feel went above and beyond our expectations. Even though no rain was forecasted on the day of our wedding it started to rain after they had already set up for the reception outside. I was a little dissapointed with Santa Barbara Catering this past week. I reached out to them on behalf of my company for staff catering over a two day span. I researched the distance between their location and our site location which ended up being 20 minutes apart. When I initially reached out a staff member advised me that they could deliver and took my order; then a follow up call 2 days later left me less than pleased. I was then advised that they couldn't deliver because it was outside of their delivery area even after I suggested a higher delivery fee. There was no reasoning as to why they wouldn't work with us and left a bad taste in my mouth about the customer service of this establishment. A simple we can't do it,sorry is not professional at all in my opinion. read more
