What a nice surprise. Came in here for a cup of coffee but discovered a great restaurant for the future. There's mixture of Italian, Columbian, American Argentinian and Spanish dishes. This place is amazing. The food quality, the dishes, the presentation, the wait staff. Amazing. The brunch menu is "decadent". You want to order a little bit of everything. The lunch options are awesome. The burger: the best I have had in my life. It is worth driving to Key Biscayne just to enjoy this place. I am not related or have an interest in this restaurant, but this is one of those places in which you can't wait to go back to. Stopped by Artisan for a late breakfast. The food, service, and atmosphere were great. Casual without being sloppy, clean with a great vibe. My Eggs Benny while a smaller portion than expected were very tasty. The green onions were a nice touch. We had a super nice waitress, although she seemed a bit overwhelmed with her workload, despite it not being very busy (perhaps 40% of the tables were occupied). We órdered food to go, but sad my salad had to be replaced since they added bacon (salad came with it so I get it) even though I asked lady if any meat & she said no. This is no biggie, as I vegan in used to orders not coming out right. Went back to replace it & nice guy helped me. I apologized too since I hate wasting time & food but he was great & told guy to give me a balsamic dressing too. I get to the car open up the salad just to check it out & first thing I saw were moldy raspberries... As a vegan I know berries get bad quickly, but it's terrible no one check them before putting them on my salad. It's not wilted lettuce or soggy stuff .. It's mold & it's a health hazard. Menu is creative with a Latin American twist..so creative I threw my selective eating habits out the door and ordered the bacon salted fries.. Sound too good to pass. Although the fries came out a little bit thinner than my preference you better believe I still ate them like they were my last meal on earth. I also requested a grilled chicken that is only on the lunch menu- they accommodated my request even though I went during dinner time. Cool cool ambience makes you feel a little bit of NYC on the island. They also rotate local art on the wall and feature local bands.. Just wished this spot was closer to me! Grabbed lunch at Artisan Kitchen & Bar on Saturday afternoon. Ordered a Latte to drink and then split the Serrano Creamy Croquetas, Venezuelan Tasting, and Artisan Fries for food. Quality After hanging out at the beach on Key Biscayne, I searched for a place to grab coffee and a snack. I found Artisan Kitchen & Bar and figured we would give it a shot. I started with a Latte, and it is hard to complain too much about any place using Panther Coffee. We then opted to share some fried Spanish treats rather than go the traditional meal route. First was the Serrano Creamy Croquetas. They were tiny, but packed with great taste. With a perfectly crispy outside and an inside oozing with rich flavor, it was an solid dish. We also ordered the Venezuelan Tasting, which came with 2 tequenos, 1 minicacapa, 2 crispy arepas, 2 bolarepas, and 2 mini empanadas. Just a mix of staples, shrunk down a bit. The highlight for me was the cheesy tequenos, which went perfectly with the guava sauce on the side. On the other end, I was disappointed by the mini empanadas, which were so tiny they barely had any meat inside. We also opted to get the Artisan Fries, just to make sure we did not leave hungry. The skinny style fries were decent, but nothing too special. Quantity We ordered primarily off the appetizer menu, but the few items we ordered were more than enough for a light yet heavy lunch. The Venezuelan Tasting especially, with its a combination of fried and cheesy items, can fill you up quick. Value Even though our order was confined to smaller shared bites, the entire menu presented reasonable prices. It would be no problem finding a filling lunch for under $15. Ambiance Artisan Kitchen & Bar is located within the village of Key Biscayne. This cafe, restaurant, and bar, takes up the corner unit of a strip mall among the other stores and restaurants on the key. Outside the restaurant has a few tables set up, which were a popular area for folks sipping on coffee. The majority of seating however is inside. Immediately inside you have a small lounge area, that seems set up for folks who may want to do some work. Tables surround these couches, and then continue to the back of the space. Along the left wall there is a bar seating, and they do have a selection of beers and wines you can order. Above the bar a single television hung, which unsurprisingly was showing a soccer match. In the background Spanish music was playing softly, preventing awkward silence, but not interrupting conversation. Crowd The busiest part of the restaurant was its small outdoor patio, which had each of its tables full. Inside however, things were much calmer with just a few diners. I got the impression that this spot is popular with locals, mostly from the abundance of golf carts sitting in the parking lot. It is a casual space, but one that fits the bill for folks looking to relax with a coffee or with a beer. Service The staff was welcoming and friendly. Our waitress let us know a few of her favorite items on the menu and made sure to get our food out quickly. Parking The restaurant is located in a small strip mall. They have a good sized private parking lot, which was very easy to access. Extra Artisan Kitchen & Bar, was not at all what I thought it would be. It functions as a one size fits all space, providing an option for people looking for coffee, food, or a drink. Which was charred and cooked very nicely and super tender. We also had some sliders and some other appetizers. Nice selection of beers. Loved my breakfast! Great coffee and espresso. We walked over from our vacation rental in search of yummy food and were really happy with what we found. I ordered the breakfast quiche which had bacon, roasted corn, and goat cheese. It's less like a traditional quiche and more like a tart crust but WHOA the flaky deliciousness was amazing! It's not bad but not sure about the value for the money. $16 for sliders and no fries or lettuce on the side seems much but can taste the quality of the food and am sure it's all free range, organic... Yada Yada. The idea of a fried green tomato sounds good but the texture isn't as cool as say fried pickles would be. It's something that requires a knife and fork. The wall decor and tables are amazingly crafted; they repurposed an old ladder and hung mason jars from it as light fixtures. Also, I sat on what used to be a church pew to enjoy both meals. The salad was low in greens, high in smoked bacon (the smoked part was not specified in the menu) and a unproportioned amount of nuts. Was not a sharing salad, meaning not generous, even for one person it was on the small side. Anyway, we left unsatisfied and without $50 bucks!!!
