I ordered the pear and Gorgonzola ravioli and it was absolutely outstanding. Everyone at the table ended up trying it and we were raving about it the entire night. Others in our group ordered the cacio e pepe with a pesto twist, the chicken parmesan with pasta on the side, the feta and spinach stuffed bacon wrapped chicken, and the black squid ink risotto calamari pasta, and every single dish was exceptional. The ambience, quality of the food, and level of service made the entire experience feel like true fine dining. The restaurant was beautiful and spotless, and every detail was thoughtfully done. This has been our favorite restaurant on KB for many years. The food has always been wonderful and a 5 star rating. Last night we got there only to discover they no longer had the churrasco steak on the menu. They suggested the steak and fries. We also got the mashed potatoes and asparagus and Greek salad. When we arrived home we found the steak was raw & of poor quality. We had to cook it to bring it to the the medium temperature we ordered. Everything else was it's usual outstanding but the steak was not only inedible & tough it was very disappointing to say the least. We have been going to Costa Med for the past decade. The food is excellent. You can say we are faithful customers. Today we were celebrating a friend's birthday and we were asked to leave because "the table was reserved" for the next party. What's sad is that we were already getting ready to leave--We didn't have to be asked to leave. This is not a cheap restaurant--We paid a bill of over $500 and we were asked to leave not even two hours after we got there--- AVOID--Never going back. read more

I came here with a group of 4 relatively early on a Saturday evening (by Miami standards, anyway) for dinner. We were seated right away, but the host did make it clear that there was an 8:15 reservation for the table he'd sat us at, so we couldn't dally. We were given menus and a basket of soft and warm mini baguettes for the table along with waters. It took a surprisingly long while for them to take our food orders, especially when we were told when we'd first arrived that we needed to free up that booth for the next patrons to be seated. We started with an order of grilled octopus to share, and for our main courses 2 of us got the pasta bolognese, one got the honey roasted salmon, and one got the pasta with clams. Everyone was happy with their meals and the service staff were outgoing and friendly, including the gentleman who served our wine and took a few moments to chat with us. This restaurant was full, but not packed during our time here, and it appears they also have outdoor seating located on the sidewalk in front, a bit further down the plaza from the entrance of Costa Med. read more

They had indoor & outdoor seating but it's not a huge space. We have been to Costa Med many times I can confidently say it's not just a restaurant, it's an experience. The food consistently impresses, the service is warm and welcoming and you truly feel like they put love in their food. Their Caprese Avocado salad is one of my absolute favorites on their menu. We order this every single time it's the classic Caprese salad reimagined, and it's absolutely divine. But beyond the avocado masterpiece, Costa Med's menu holds countless treasures. My personal favorites include the octopus, cooked to tender perfection and bursting with seared goodness, and their tostones. crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and the perfect canvas for any topping. Ate here 2 days in a row it was so good! There are enough items on the menu to eat here for almost a week and not be bored. Some of the dishes it was hard to believe they were so good. Personal favorite had to be the Gnocchi in pesto and the Ceviche. The Gnocchi was the most delicate and flavorful version I think I've ever had. The ceviche also had so many layers of flavor, it really stands out amongst others I've had in Sofla. Wasn't a huge fan of the mussels which is most just because of the sourcing. Has a stronger flavor than I prefer, but they were cooked nicely. Also didn't think I would love the Chipirons, but the way they grill and spice them is really nice, could've eaten a second plate for sure! The Eifle tower is also a staple there, the goat cheese was so creamy it really paired well with the veggies. Also the staff here are very accommodating and create a nice atmosphere for dining at dinner or lunch. Highly recommend this restaurant! read more

The French onion soup is generously portioned, savory, and delicious. It was painfully difficult to choose an entree. Having already been familiarized with the decadent assortment of ravioli during my last visit to Costa Med, I decided to go with the seared scallops over pumpkin and iberic ham & apricot chutney which was to die for. Talk about an explosion of flavor! And the perfect finish, the rich and famous guava soufflé. Perfection in every bite. A wonderful restaurant with exceptional service. We were a party of 4 having dinner at this restaurant. The dishes were great. From what I remember, we had the octopus and the burrata and prosciutto to start. For entrees, the pasta bolognese which was excellent with fresh pasta and just the right amount of sauce; the lamb chops with rosemary grilled and seasoned just right and the cod special which was plentiful and moist and tender. I came here for valentine's day. This is just another restaurant in Miami that you pay for location and reviews. Place is really small and tight that you can hear peoples conversation. Food wasn't wow, and over priced. I ordered lobster ravioli, or better to say 5 piece of ravioli with small chunks of lobster for 28.00 No special seasoning, no special flavor, nothing new. Just over priced pasta with lobster. I have tried Carrabba's lobster ravioli, and was way better. Carrabba is a italian food chain, which shouldn't be better than a mid-high end restaurant. Also, tried the crab cakes. They should be 15.00 not 19.00, because 3 small pieces thst were Way too cooked. It came with 3 1/4 tablespoon of jalapeno, mango and peper sauce on the side. Service was whatever, nothing special. They even forgot to give us fork and knife to eat with bread, so bread was there for minutes. If you really want a tasteful experience , this is not the place for you. Sorry owner, but my experience in your restaurant was below average. 18% gratuity included is robbing customers. Our service was incredible the whole time and management was a pleasure to speak with after our meal. We had the ceviche, the octopus, branzino, and mushroom pasta. All of which were EXCELLENT. Family outing with 3 children under 12; service was great, above and beyond. Menu selection was extense so we got something for every taste, from fish, pasta, lamb and several seafood plates. Everything was better than imagined, all the plates were delicious, but the dish we all loved the most enough to order a second one to share was the grilled octopus. What a treat! Small, quaint, and lively with big plates and well done service. The ceviche style was new to us and tasty, the ravioli with pear and Gorgonzola as an app was awesome sauce, and the main courses we all had delivered the goods. This is a gem!! While looking for a restaurant for dinner during my stay on Key Biscayne I came across the reviews of Costa Med. There were 118 reviews on Yelp and with just a few exceptions all a 5 star review so off I went with my son for dinner. We had made an outside sitting reservation but being SoFL just before our reservation time (8PM) here comes the rain showers. I called the restaurant to see if they had covered outside seating and the young lady who answered the phone told me they had made space for us and already moved our reservation indoors, nice touch. We arrived at Costa Med and so warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (I think the owner) that though this being our first time at Costa Med I thought I was a regular and one of his best friends. We were seated and promptly our server came over to welcome us and see if we wanted any beverage or water. We started our dinner with the Grilled Octopus which was tender and wonderful. I selected one of the specials of the evening a Branzino En papillote and my son got the Entrecôte Alla Milanese, WOW on both dishes! When our server opened up my parchment paper envelope to reveal my fish and veggies it looked amazing and was even better when I took my first bite. So flavorful, moist and a nice portion of fish. My son when he first saw his entree thought that he might not be able to finish it and take some home for a later snack, not the case. It was so good he told me that he could not stop eating and finished the dish. Well, Costa Med is certainly on top of any list for consideration while dinning in Key Biscayne. We had a really nice dinner there the other night. The bread and butter were quite nice to start. Then two of us had the ceviche which was HUGE! We could definitely have shared it with delicious chunks of fresh fish. I do wish the fried plantains had a little more flavor to them although then I might have eaten more than just one. The third had the caprese avocado which was also decently sized. For mains, the whole branzino was cooked very nicely and had some nice asparagus alongside. The entrecote was delicious though perhaps a bit salty. I think our daughter won the meal though with her spinach pasta that she devoured and still talked about two days later. We had a bottle of the 2011 Blue Frog cabernet which worked well with all our mains and then some Key Lime Pie for dessert. Overall a solid spot with good service and a nice atmosphere read more
