Excellent place to grab a bite on Key Biscayne...probably one of the best on the key IMO. Great atmosphere and made from scratch and delicious food. Prices are a little on steep side but it is Key Biscayne. Service is just so so but I did get a few smiles. A lot of daily specials and they have excellent combos for lunch (soups/salads/sandwiches). Starting with what went right, I thought the sandwiches, salad, and fries we ordered were all really great. My boyfriend got the summer sandwich, which was refreshing and lightly sweet with ham, brie, apples, and mangos. The pepito grilled sandwich consisted of juicy medium done steak, and a hefty amount of avocados and tomatoes. I also recommend the cazadora salad (chicken, walnuts, cranberries, feta) and the parmesan truffle fries. Even though the food was really good, the service was the exact opposite. The servers ignored us when we walked in and we had to ask to be seated. We waited for someone to come and give us the menus but ended up having to get up and ask them to bring some over. My boyfriend also got a salmon sandwich instead of the summer sandwich he ordered, but he only had to wait a little to get the right one after. However, they still ended up charging us for the salmon sandwich, which was $4 more, so we had to ask them to change it. Lastly, the server never bothered to refill our water unless we called her over, and the one time she asked if we wanted more water, she didn't even deliver. My wife and I have eaten here frequently in the past and the food is usually great but we just got to the restaurant Saturday night May 26th 2018 at 9:50pm and were told by the hostess that the restaurant was closed. There were still about 20 people eating and the hours listed on their website said they were still open. read more

One of our favorites usually. New manager is extremely disorganized and rude. We walked out without eating or ordering. Today we walked in at 1pm. New manager had us stand while he scolded his serving staff because nobody could tell if two empty tables were to be assigned to a waiting party of eight or not. (there was no party of eight). In the meantime two different parties walked in, tried to sit on the tables, and were literally "shooed" away by the manager (they were teenagers). At this point we took a seat at the bar. Manager and wait staff ignored us for another 15 mins. When we asked for a menu and asked if someone could help us he responded with attitude and rudeness. One of his servers apologized and gave us a menu but manager kept talking behind her back about guests and staff (which he heard). At this point we walked out- I feel terrible for staff and guests. Came here with my sister expecting a lovely Saturday lunch, but instead we were completely ignored by our server and then when he finally took our order it took 45 min to make two sandwiches. Finally when we received our meals my sisters had avocados in hers which was not stated in the menu and she's HIGHLY ALLERGIC to. We kindly proceeded to ask if they could make a new sandwich and explained why. Then instead of following our requests they only took some avocado chunks and gave the same sandwich back without even taking all the avocados out. Came back to Artisan after 2 years and had a disappointing experience - ordered Eggs Benedictine with Salmon: the eggs were hard boiled, the sauce was def not hollandaise and I got a tiny slice of salmon. Great new casual restaurant in KB! The food was great, service was good, prices were high but not abnormal for good food on KB. The tapas were varied in size from too small to just right. Croquetas were really tasty, but tiny. Empanadas were delish, but not very large. Try the poquillo peppers (breaded, lightly fried sweet red peppers stuffed with mushrooms and beef). As was mentioned before, the beef sliders are awesome, but if you order just 1 thing, make it the fries with crumbled bacon as the "salt". Awesome. Also, they had Narragansett on tap! We went there early on a Saturday morning for brunch (9 am). The restaurant was almost empty, and there were multiple outside tables for four people and only one for two, but that table was in the middle of the waiter's Traffick, and it was the only table that the sun would be on our face; so, we sat in another one for 4. The administrator came over and insisted (in a very rough manner & despite the place being nearly empty) that we had to move to the table that we didn't want, and we politely told him why we wouldn't want to move, but he said that we couldn't stay in our table. We decided to leave went next door to Victoria (it was excellent, five stars). On our way out passed by Artisan again and saw that a couple were sitting at the very same table for 4! As someone with severe food allergies I always have to be cautious when coming to restaurants. When I inform most places of my allergies they are always more than accommodating. However, this establishment cared very little about my allergies. I order the veggie sandwich and asked them to please remake it because it came with avocado and I'm allergic to it (the menu did not say avocado came on the sandwich). When I informed the server I could not eat the sandwich he gave me some attitude and sent it back to be remade. However he proceeded to bring me back the exact same sandwich with some pieces of avocado still on it. Terrible service overall read more

Came to Artisan about a dozen times since it opened in December 2012, usually for beer and snacks. The ambiance is not bad, usually quiet, but can't help but leave the impression of being cheesy while trying hard at being hip. Decent beer selection, however the staff knows absolutely nothing about beer. The service is very bad. About 10 minutes after we sat down we had to ask the server if we can please order some food and drinks. The servers chat between each other and it is often difficult to get their attention. While we were placing an order, the manager interrupted our server and talked to her (in spanish) for 2 minutes before she could get back to us. How can the servers be hospitable when the manager is even worse? Beef sliders are $16 (the cheapest entree you can get). They're decent, but very overpriced and don't even come with fries. Fries ($5) are the skinny kind and too dry. The sous-chef brought the sliders out on the counter, and they sat there for three minutes before I alerted the server and asked her if she can bring it to me before it gets cold. I'm not sure why these are in the slider form - all three are exactly the same. Why not just make it a regular-sized burger? If you don't care about the cheesiness, bad service, or overpriced food, Artisan is about as good as Key Biscayne gets for ambiance and beer selection. read more

This place has never gotten order right of the 5 or 6 times I've been there. And I'm not some crazy person who makes weird additions to my order, they just don't add basic things. I'm talking, cheese on eggs and lettuce on a sandwich are the things they forgot. Not to mention that they fought me when I told them they forgot the cheese, as if you can't clearly tell the difference when there is and there isn't delicious melty cheese on your food. After they forget about the cheese or lettuce or water, they basically forget you as a customer altogether, and then you get charged $15-20 for a scrambled eggs. This place is not worth it.
