You can get in free to the museum all day until 8:00 p.m. Some of the artists are there and you can talk to them about their artwork. They were giving out free wine and water. Great art museum to check out once a month because they do change out the displays. We got there a little late They were closing at 8:00 p.m. and we got there at 7:30 so we had to do a quick rush through but I was so glad I got to see this and we'll come back next month.

The Casselberry Sculpture House is an artist in residence program that started in 2021. It is…read morelocated in a mid century, ranch style home located across the street from Lake Concord Park where you can find even more public art in the Casselberry Art House, Arts Center, and Sculpture Garden. On the front of the home is an eye catching mosaic mural by artist Claire Lavin. Artists can apply for a grant offered by United Arts Central Florida which allows them to live and work in the home for 3 months. I was lucky to find the Sculpture House open at night as part of the 2nd Friday Food Truck event in Lake Concord Park. There is no admission and you are to able wander the house and check out the art when it is open. The current artist has filled all of the rooms with his canvas paintings of people and nature scenes. My favorite was a print of a dragon on fabric that was hanging in the carport. I love that the City of Casselberry is doing so much to support artists. This was such a cool discovery and well worth checking out when you visit Lake Concord Park.

The Casselberry Arts Center opened in January of 2024. It is a 3,000 foot open space gallery that is used to stage exhibits of visual and digital arts, dance, music, theater, film, design, and multi-media. The beautiful space has floor to ceiling windows that let in natural light as well as a view of the gardens outside. The current exhibit is a presentation from the University of Central Florida, from the students in the UCF SVAD MFA program. The exhibit invited students "to think beyond their studio practice and outside their preconceived notions of an art exhibition in order to gain a new understanding of the limitations and successes of the exhibition form." I really enjoyed the creativity of the art works, especially the fawn and the painting of a bed with the sheet that comes out and on to the floor. Bravo to Casselberry for their support of the arts students of UCF. This exhibit will be on view until June 27th.

Lorn and I had been to this venue for the Yelpie awards and decided to return as we were impressed with the artwork the first time we came. Third Thursdays is a free event each month and it displays the works of various artists. Also, if you park at the Plaza parking lot on Court Avenue just a few blocks away, your parking ticket is validated, and you only pay $4. We got there around 6:30pm and the place was already packed. We got a drink at the cafe and a shout out to Miles for being a fun server and a good conversationist. We then proceeded to see all the art displays from photography to paintings to ink drawings. The main floor is much roomier as the second floor was quite crowded and tight given the separate rooms for the displays. But we still enjoyed ourselves and got to see the work of Lorn's friend, Grace Garvey, as well as other artists. The second floor's main room was dedicated to "Black & White" artist renderings and many of the displays were quite intriguing. The main floor had some excellent concert photographs that exuded the energy and passion of the performers as well as the crowds. This is definitely a fun free event to attend in downtown Orlando.

We were then able to go on our own and visit the displays. Pictures were allowed, which was wonderful because I didn't want to forget some of them and they were great inspiration.
