This was the second time I had come to this location. The first time was for my SIL bachelorette's party and then again for Valentine's Day. I love when you walk in you see all the other paintings they did on display. I definitely want to go back and do a fall/halloween painting. The people who work there are very friendly and very knowledgable, however they clearly have a talent that I do not have! Or maybe its just more practice or patience. If you have never gone to one, technically you find a painting you want to do and sign up for that day. You can also book a private painting and pick what one you want to do. I love that you can bring in food and drinks. Just remember to bring cups, plates. They only supply you with complimentary water. I love that everyone there is very helpful and willing to give you tips to make your painting the best it can. If you check in on YELP they will give you a little something, this time they gave you a credit card holder for the back of your phone. Its a fun afternoon or night out. Had come here quite a few times with some family and girlfriends. Its a fun time out painting and being able to bring your own bottle and own food while you act silly and attempt to paint what the instructor is showing you. I am not artistic at all but painting with a twist is a fun experience where it doesn't matter whether you can paint at a beginners level or expert level. Its a fun time out painting and having a few glasses of wine. The instructors at this location are very friendly and patient with you and takes their time going through the steps to painting a masterpiece. Its exciting to see how the alcohol increases or decreases your painting ability but definitely makes for an entertaining time. read more

I attended the 4 year anniversary party for painting with a twist. Instead of the usual $35 pp price tag they were offering a special deal 2 people for $35 which included a champagne toast. The room features seating for approximately 20 people. You are given an assigned seat with your group where you will have an easel set up with your canvas, paints and paint brushes. The class lasts about 2 hours and you paint along to the staff members instructions. If you are seated towards the back of the room away from the instructor you can watch the tv that is mounted on the wall for a better view. Two staff members would occasionally walk around the room to offer hands on help and instructions. It was very easy to follow along and they were happy and eager to help need be. Music plays throughout the class to keep the energy levels high. The music was a mix of karaoke type songs and dance music. The main instructor was funny and highly entertaining. I really enjoyed myself and would definitely visit again. read more

I absolutely loved this place! I went with a huge group of people and they were able to accommodate us really well. It's BYOB so you can bring snacks and drinks! The instructors were super friendly and they walk around to help you. I am not an expert painter at all but luckily got a lot of help from the instructors. They do go a little fast, so if you're a slower painter it might be hard to catch up. I would definitely want to go here again once get better art skills! read more

BYOB I had a not so nice experience booking my birthday party in October, 2015. Manager a little rude regarding sending my contract and following through with sending me emails. Took my wife here for Valentine's Day and she had a great time. The instructors were fun and friendly and walk you through the painting. Parking is a little rough as you need to feed the meters but it's only 25 cents/hour. If you're drinking there you technically shouldn't be driving there anyway. The idea of a BYOB painting place doesn't sound like anything special or super fun but then once you do it you realize how awesome it is. I don't see how you can't have fun here. Painting with a twist was an absolute blast for my friend's birthday. The online reservation/payment system was easy. Pick a location, painting date and time and you're good to go. We arrived 30 minutes prior to the 7pm session and were ready to start our GNO. We reserved seating with a friendly hostess, grabbed our smocks and set up our refreshments. Our paint instructor, Alex, was hilarious and easy to follow. His assistant was very helpful with paint supplies and general direction. Definitely worth the $35, we had a great time and didn't feel that the room was cramped at all. It was a fun loving and friendly crowd of about 50 folks. Park in the lot across the street for only .25 an hour and parking in Jenkintown is free after 8. Evening sessions are great for a date or GNO. Afternoon sessions would be a fun time for kids to paint. 5/5. read more

I've been to a bunch of these places, and this spot is my new favorite. First of all, I got hooked up with a sweet tee shirt for checking in on yelp, so make sure you don't miss out on that. The classes they offer in this location are diverse and appeal to all different skill levels. I stuck to the easy class and painted the midnight Palm tree. Although I am certainly no artist, through he help of the lovely staff here I have a passable piece of art that maybe I will hang in a spare bedroom someday. One thing that sets this location apartment is the fabulous staff. My BFF and I had the good fortune of getting Jess as our instructor. Jess also is a stand up comedian and is pretty hilarious, so that was a treat. This is a greato potion for a girl's night, date night, etc. Loves it! read more

I was invited to a PWaT party back in November and if I'm being honest, I thought it was a weird concept. A BYOB painting class? Who does that??? Well, everyone should try it! We were there with a private party (a girls night out) and we had good food, good drinks, good music and great fun. We painted a tropical parrot and even the most artistically challenged person will have a good time. I don't remember our leaders' names [they called themselves Salt and Pepa :-)] but both ladies were SO much fun and helpful if you needed some correction to your canvas. I've been to several events like this, and I was kind of disappointed with this one. The idea was excellent. It was a Beauty and the Beast painting, so the whole event was Disney themed - music, prizes, etc. But the painting aspect itself was not so great. They must use really cheap paint because there was nothing you could do to keep it from streaking horribly, which I've never encountered before. They started late, never gave us our promised "let it dry" break to make sure the top layer didn't mix, and many of us ran out of time or finished just in the nick of time. I've never encountered that before. I barely finished as they were clearing the tables and basically ushering us out of the room. It was also about 500 degrees in the room. For $35 I expected a better experience. I am not likely to go back here. read more

Sooooooo awesome. Just got home from there and I immediately hopped on yelp to sing my praises. My brother and I took our mother for her birthday this evening and we, especially she, had a fantastic time. To start, everyone was extremely friendly as soon as we set foot in the door. The vibe was so chill and relaxed, yet kind of pumped up and exciting. There are so many awesome pictures on the walls and music playoffs constantly. The musical genre changes through the entire 2hour class so you never zone and get into elevator music mode. Our instructor has a fantastic playlist from Nelly, to the temptations, beyonce, kelis, the four tops, marvin gaye, uptown funk, maroon 5, and much more. But the absolute most, MOST important part of the class.....the instructor/artist. Ours was Sean, and he was THE BEST. He was hilarious, knowledgeable, polite, encouraging and his energy level was at 10000000000. It was a really great time and I am most definitely going back. read more

I've been to this location, Skippack and Ambler. They are all great! The public classes can get a little crowded but I used Jenkintown specifically for private classes. Every time they have been very accommodating, replied to any emails/questions I've had and the groups have always had a blast. I went as a group of 5 for a bachelorette party. We had a fantastic time with Kayla (Teacher person) and Jess as our instructors. They made the experience hilarious and a lot of fun; one of my friends received the label of Kayla's "special child." We spent half the time talking about how much we cannot wait to come back to another paint night. They were very helpful in making our paintings nice, yet our own. I' WILL RETURN....My husband and another couple went last night (saturday). We had SUCH AN AWESOME TIME. First, our instructor, Kayla, the self-proclaimed "teacher lady" was a model instructor. I have NEVER been able to paint...until Kayla showed me how. Kayla oriented us to the process with clarity AND HUMOR. She walked 45 people through a two hour painting party and we all walked out with something nice....and just a little different. The store is clean, well run and organized. I plan to go back for a birthday party. I really enjoyed "unlocking" the power of my right brain (creativity). So fun. So relaxing! My personal next step is to try to get some folks from work to this store or the one in center city. My friend took some coworkers and it was fun and a great team building activity. JUST A NOTE: I saw Maureen's post after I wrote the review above. She is correct, the room is VERY full. 50 is the number the studio in the back on the first floor holds. I appreciate the heads up. This is a great place for a girls' night out. You are given step by step instructions to make your masterpiece, but there was enough room for open interpretation. All of our paintings turned out great, but different from each other. Lots of laughs and some wine made it a wonderful night out. Came here for a birthday party a few weeks back on a Saturday night. There were 10 of us and we were super excited! PWAT provides cups, plates, napkins, and a tablecloth for you and you can bring whatever food and beverages you choose. They also give you an apron so you don't get paint all over you. Unfortunately some of us were really disappointed in this place. The room where we had our party was a pretty decent space but they jam packed it with people! Besides our party of 10 there were a few others. Probably about 50 people in this space. When you add easels, paint, food, and wine there just isn't enough room to move! We were like sardines in a can! I'm talking elbow to elbow with the person you're sitting next to. A little to close for comfort when you're trying to be creative and need space. The instructor was fun and kept us upbeat but did move a bit fast at times. All in all we had an alright experience at PWAT but for $35 I won't be returning. read more
