Service was great! The staff was very nice. Parking, not bad. Spacious- Bathroom- older, toilet not flushed. Establishment, older- not the cleanest. Just a laid back spot. Think dive bar, without the alcohol. A watch the game vibe. The fries were the best thing on my plate, and I didn't even order them. I ordered the Arts brisket quesadilla (appetizer) - this was recommended by the waitress. It isn't enough to share, or have as your entree alone, so keep this in mind for those of you who do order appetizers as meals. I also ordered a hot link, and a slice of bread. The hot link (I envisioned an earl campbell type link- smooth in texture like a hot dog) wasn't what I expected. It leaned more sausage, like the traditional Texas hot links that use a coarse grind with a casing. It was crumbly when bitten. The hot link is very very spicy- the spice alone overpowered the flavor. I didn't finish it. The quesadillas, I wouldn't recommend. I didn't finish them either. Back to the fries. The fries were the best thing to me! Home cut, cooked fresh. Unfortunately, this is my first and last visit to this restaurant. I just didn't like the food. Family owned. Always a solid choice whether bbq, burger, or other entree. Love the catfish and crisp, fresh salads, too.

One of the best when we were there, it was a while ago. We should go again!!! I had brisket, husband had pulled pork, then fried pies.

Ordered the cheese burger and it was very over done and dry, we ordered a salad and a burger and it took 40 min to get and there were 4 other people in at the time. The staff seemed to be more interested in talking to each other and not the guests. Would not eat here again read more

Great hamburgers, the fries were excellent also. Onion rings are hand cut. Definitely going back as we are now regulars here.

I'm giving this restaurant two stars. But only for the food! The food was delicious!! But the service however was AWFUL! Probably the worst service I've ever had in a restaurant! I didn't know if my waitress was one of the three people that came by only one time. Had to finally get up myself to get a to go box. Then asked for ranch three times when my fried pickles came out and took them 10 minutes to bring it. They weren't even busy either is what I didn't understand! The cook was the only one that did ANYTHING right and that was cooking the food! I will say they are very overpriced as well! $53 for just me and the hubby to get dinner. read more

It seems like the best BBQ comes from hole in the wall spots you'd least expect. So, when I saw the decent reviews for this place, I thought it would be perfect. Sadly, that was not the case. The kids meals came out hot, but both adult meals were barely warm. The ribs were tough and inedible, seemed like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp for too long and dried completely out (even though they weren't hot). My husband and I each had two bites then gave up. BBQ sauce was not good. Other tables were also complaining about various issues. Super disappointing because we really wanted to love this place. Today December 15, 2022 I've decided to eat at Art's for my birthday and asked the waitress if the chicken platter which is a half chicken with two sides if the chicken was dry of course I should have known she lied it was dry she said it wasn't but it was I mean if you're a barbecue place your chicken should be off the bone good Texas roadhouse is not a barbecue place but they're there have chicken beats the hell out of Art's BBQ chicken so maybe art should send someone to Texas roadhouse undercover to find out how they cook their fucking chicken and then they would know how to cook a chicken without drying it out birthday dinner not so good potato salad had a put tater skin in it's so big it could've covered half of a potato it was disgusting aside from that once I put mustard in the potato salad it was actually good the baked beans are great and so is the bread but the chicken that bombed out big time I had almost gone to Texas roadhouse to get my chicken and just come here for my side I guess I should've gone with my gut instinct because this was a shit Meal for my birthday thanks talk to the waitress who lied of course she's probably obligated to since she does work here and she was a good waitress For $17 and some change I expected a little bit more for my money kind of feel ripped off if the chicken has been up to par the price would've been pretty good but considering the dryness of the chicken and the course and seven it was that's an awful price for an awful piece of chicken I would not ever suggest anyone to get the half chicken platter from Art's BBQ read more

For THE BEST fried pickles in the state, you've got to go to Art's! They are fried to light and crispy perfection and come with very tasty ranch dressing for dipping. I always get the hickory cheese burger as a side to my pickles ;) and it is THE BEST burger in town. It is thick, juicy and their BBQ sauce is delicious. The red onion on the burger is crisp and flavorful. One of these days I'm actually going to try their BBQ! By the way, their servers are cheerful and attentive to detail. read more

We tried several times to eat at Art's recently. Tonight it wasn't Monday and it wasn't after 8 pm when we pulled into the parking lot but there were no cars there. We pulled up to the door and there were several signs taped to the door so as we were trying to read them a guy came out to tell us they were closed. I asked him when they were open since it was the third time we had tried to eat there recently and they were closed again.. He went on and on about when they were closed and I finally just started saying uh-huh, yes and OK hoping we could leave without offending him. Finally he walked away and as I put the car into gear he yelled from the front of the truck, "You don't have to be a di**head." I flipped him of and left while he continued to yell at us. My wife and I then had to explain to our young granddaughter what had just happened and why he was yelling at us. We used to eat there regularly but I'll never spend another dime at Art's again and I'll be happy to tell anyone and everyone about this encounter. read more

I hate to rate them this low because this used to be one of our favorite restaurants however; since they opened a 2nd location down-town, the original restaurant in East Fort Smith, (by the bicycle shop) has really gone down hill. Our most recent and our last visit; was Friday, March 31, 2017. My catfish dinner was good, but nothing exceptional and the catfish didn't have much flavor. Their catfish dinners used to be the BEST. My husband ordered a combo plate; which was called "JUMBO", but when it finally arrived (we had a very long wait time) we were both shocked. I don't eat as much as my husband, but I could have eaten that combo plate and still been hungry! So, of course, my husband was still hungry when we left. We went to Braum's and had some ice cream! The most yummy thing we ate that night. By the way, we did question the serving size on that Combo plate and the Manager came over to our table to make excuses; but only offered to upgrade the order to Mega size for an additional charge. (We decided to pass on that offer) From now on when we want barbeque we will go to Whole Hog Café! They are a little out of the way for us, but it is worth the drive. And, when I want catfish I will go to Catfish Hole, in Alma. (STILL THE BEST CATFISH IN THIS AREA) Disappointed and we won't be back. read more

I came in for lunch today on my way to work (2:30pm 5/7/2105). This was my second visit. I was hoping for an improvement but I must say I was disappointed again. The BBQ is good it's just you really really skimp on the portions. This might be understandable but the first time I ordered a "jumbo" order of brisket and today I ordered a "Super" combo of pulled pork and sausage. Like the "jumbo" the only thing "super" sized was the plate you served it on. That little pile of meat would have looked mighty lonely on that big ol' plate if you hadn't put the two dishes of sides and the Texas toast on it as well. I don't mind paying for good bbq but I don't want to come away feeling like my pocket was picked. Match your portions to fit the adjective you are using to advertise the portion on the menu. Disappoint me once shame on you. Disappoint me twice, well shame on me. You won't get a third opportunity. I won't be back and I won't recommend you to anyone else because of your skimpy portions. read more

Great place for Bar-B-Que, you can really taste the hickory in the food. Reasonable prices, large servings. My sliced beef last visit was piled high. Their sauces are better than most, hats off to the owner/management of this establishment. I think of reasons just for a chance to visit again. Good food, great hickory flavor. O.m.g! This place was ahh-mazing! I had the spare ribs, green beans and a side salad. My husband also got the spare ribs but he got the onion rings as a side. Hands down, the best onion rings I have ever had! Fresh, crispy, and flavorful! The spare ribs were juicy, tender, full of flavor, and fell off bone!! Absolute deliciousness! To top it off, the wait staff was totally on their game. Quick to refill our drinks and quick to bring our orders. (And I forgot to mention we had a group of 9!) Nice BBQ place. The brisket was tasty, the real mashed potatoes with gravy were good, the Texas toast was good, the BBQ beans were great but the fried pie for desert was not that good. When I asked why there wasn't a fried apple pie listed, the manager, possibly the owner, said the apricot was just as good and tasted a lot like apple. Well, it did not. Overall, I liked the food, the pie, not so much and the broken down booth seat, not at all. If I'm ever back in the area it will most likely be a takeout order minus the pie. read more

Great food, friendly service and amazing people. The new owner has taken his dads restaurant over and it's honestly better than ever. They are still on Rogers Ave but down on the end past Mercy hospital now. I love smoked chicken and theirs will not disappoint you. They sell the sliced meat by weight on the plates so you shouldn't be surprised by the portion size (since you order what you want). I eat here often now and highly recommend it to anyone looking for good BBQ in town. read more

This place is a must go- if you know what real BBQ is... When you go to places that soak the meat in juices... (Pink flamingo and most other places) they are trying to cover up the fact that they do not know how to truly bbq. Trying to get flavor in your meat by drenching it in "so so" watery flavors? No thank you. The bun gets soggy and gross. Y'all need to travel more! Honestly!!! Art's has got it down! They have amazing pulled pork! This was the first time my husband and I have ever been here. I got a bacon cheeseburger and fries and was very satisfied. My husband got a 1/2 rack of ribs and enjoyed them, he really liked the rub on them. We followed up our meal with fried coconut pie and they are so good.
