With what looks like a new owner . . . at this once wonderful family run Tailoring store , I will never USE or RECOMMEND this business again. 1) First the new proprietor lost the simple tailor changes that were to be made to the men's walking shorts I brought in, requiring me to return to be remeasured ? ! ? 2) Then after that, they charged me $70 to hem and mend this simple seamstress task. I asked them how they arrived at that cost. . . a blank look followed by "that's what it cost". Seriously!?! wTF how incompetent could they be, or myself for buckling under and paying that this fleece job co$t. These guys won't last long with this level of incompetence. The new owners "threw away" my dress. Arturo sold the business. I've been coming here for 5 years for everything. Every month with some kind of alteration. I live in CDM. When he sold the business recently, the new owner took over and threw out all the old tickets that he has - I was there a month and a bit ago. Why wouldn't they call me! Bad business practice! Unprofessional and poor service at a high price ($90 for shortening sleeves). Dropped off a week prior to needing my jacket tailored, returned a week later and was told they are busy and it wasn't even started. Now let's talk rude... when I asked about getting it finished timely he threw the jacket at me and said "just take it". Stay away from this place, take your business anywhere else. Have always been happy with Arturo's until my last visit. My alteration had to be done twice and he was so rude, like it was my fault. After dropping a hanger, he said "pick that up". Other customers seemed as shocked as I was. When I paid, I noticed that I was charged a fee for my credit card. I asked why there was no sign. Again I got an angry response. I have been going here for over 20 years and am hoping he was just having a bad day. However I left really upset and with my new dress that was still not altered correctly. read more

I'm not sure why people are complaining? This tailor has done tailoring for me for YEARS and yes, it's not cheap but this man is a MASTER tailor. He has done dresses for me for years and he can rework tuxedos, suits, jackets etc. I wouldnt recommend coming here for something cheap and not worth it the work he does is amazing. A good tailor is hard to come by and everyone who goes into his shop is a regular. I think the customer service is fabulous and he is always busy. I went in to get a few pairs of pants tailored (shortened) and asked about pricing. He qouted me higher than any reviews said prices were, which I can only guess is because I'm a young woman. When I asked if he could lower the rates he said "you're in Corona Del Mar. You want cheaper rates, go to Santa Ana." Best Suit Tailor in Orange County. Ignacio is a multi generation Tailor who has more than 40 years experience. Professional, friendly and always with a track suit and a lollipop, he is very knowledgeable about fabrics, cuts and even the latest trends and styles. I recently brought 10 suits to be tailored correctly. Most of them Zegna Silk, Kiton Cashmere or Trendy Paul Smiths... and wouldnt trust my suits to anyone else in town. Cruz, the in-house suit specialist does fabulous work on difficult fine fabrics such as Super 160s Wool/Silk blends. I highly recommend​ the clean, large space right off PCH in CdM. Arturo's tailoring also handles womens custom clothing and dress fitting. I can assure you that the clientele and Corona del Mar not the easiest, however Ignacio and cruise handle them with a smile. Most importantly, tough to please customers leave extremely happy and feeling more beautiful than ever. 5 Stars guys!! read more

I took two suits here to have tailored. I went to pick up the suits several times only to find the work was done incorrectly and needed to be redone. On the first return trip Ignacio immediately began to argue with me and said I needed custom suits. On the third trip Ignacio said he couldn't get my suits to fit me correctly. After Ignacio said he has a satisfaction guarantee I paid for his work (which cost an exorbitant $203) and then took my suits to another tailor. I thought if the new tailor couldn't fix my suits then it was fair that I paid and if the new tailor fixed my suits then I would get my refund based on the satisfaction guarantee policy Ignacio told me about. The new tailor, Be's Perfect Alterations on 17th St. in Costa Mesa, fixed my suits and did such an amazing job at less than 50% (only $90) of what I was charged at Arturo's. I wore one of the suits in to request my refund and show how a professional tailor does her work, and Ignacio said the work was done well and agreed to give me a full refund but he asked to see the other suit. I said I didn't want to come back as I had already wasted so much of my time with him, and he said he would give me the refund if I showed him the receipt. After emailing him the receipt he then said he would go talk to Be which I thought was odd. After waiting a week I emailed Ignacio and he responded with the following: "Hi Brian I was so busy finaly I stop with the lady of the oner of the tailor shop you went and I ask what she did with the suits first she tell me first she work only in the gray suit and she did diferent job in the suit so I dont know way you want refund so we not going to refund if you want to discuse the matter you can call me our stop by" What Ignacio said in his response is completely untrue and there's no way he was told only one suit was worked on. If you want honest work done well at a reasonable price without a headache then I recommend everyone go to another tailor instead of Arturo's. As I mentioned earlier, I had a much better experience with Be's Perfect Alterations in Costa Mesa. read more

Maybe I just didn't know any better, but by the time I ordered my wedding dress, it was set to arrive 1 month before our wedding day. After it arrived, I really started to worry when 2 of the 3 tailors the dress boutique recommended wouldn't take my business. I called Arturo's last and spoke with Ignacio. He listened to what I needed and got me in that week. He finished my dress within 3 fittings and was fabulous each time. Ignacio knew how to put me at ease and impressed me every time I came back. The total cost was more than fair for a wedding dress and I couldn't have been happier with the finished masterpiece! I was really pleased with my experience at Arturo's. I took a maxi dress in to be altered at the waist for a wedding I will be attending. Arturo was very polite and helpful and the dress fit well and looked great when I picked it up. The only comment I have is that he didn't call me to let me know the dress was finished, but when I called to see if I could pick it up he did comment that if I wanted him to call in the future he would, but otherwise all items are ready the day he provides you. read more

Ignacio, after knowing him for over ten years, I consider him firstly my friend. Never once have I ever had an issue with price, even being in the middle of one of the wealthiest towns in the nation. Newport Beach. Which I do not live in. This is how stand up this man is....he replaced a suit coat that he felt was not tailored correctly to his standards. Not mine. His. Yeah, replaced it. This is the place you go to if you have a really expensive piece of clothing that needs to be tailored. The prices are reasonable but the service is a bit slow. It took about a week for my shirt to be tailored. It was an expensive shirt and the end result was well worth the wait. It looked like it was made to measure after they were finished. Still, it was excellent fabric and I didn't want to part with it. I am so glad I decided to go to Arturo. His sartorial skills turned that throwback into the cutting edge. Although a bit tricky to find this place it is one of the few that knows what they are doing around here. Don't waste your time with either location near south coast plaza - Spatola or Lucy's - make the drive to Arturo's. They take the time to carefully pin and mark their work. Also, they really understand how to approach issues with a mens suit coat. Having an odd shape it is nice to find someone who knows how to solve problems while still handling basic hems and patches with quality work. read more
