In literal tears. This is what I got, it tastes the same way it looks. No raspberries, Raspberry mousse nothing just frosting and chocolate cake. This place is supposed to be experienced at least make it look nice. I ordered days ahead don't tell me it's ready when it's not, and give me this. I recommend going to Jean-Jacgues In Pleasantville at least they will put effort into what they are doing. Too bad the baker was on vacation. So been here alot before i started writing reviews. In The Summer during the Thornwood car show, my parents and i can be seen eating their italian ices, which are very good. They also have cakes, pastries, and i believe i tasted my first almond horn from here, and it was good! Also once brought a pint to use for my 18th/Graduation party a few years ago. Inside, they do have chairs and tables where one can sit if they want. Went here on Saturday August 10th 2024 while at the Thornwood car show with my parents. We were there to get italian ices. Staff was pleasant, and asked what we wanted right away. I got a Cotton Candy Italian ice, and my mom got lemon, and my dad got chocolate. We paid with cash, as they charge for using a credit card. Italian ices were very good! as we enjoyed them! We hope to be back soon! read more

Great place, great atmosphere, GREAT food! The owner is very kind and this place just feels amazing. I like going there and having a bagel or a fresh cookie (warm and taken just out of the oven) with a beverage once a week and sit outside and just enjoy the place and its food. read more

A rare and true Italian bakery that is still working so hard to make fresh authentic pastries. So many bakeries cut corners and use cheap ingredients but you can tell this place is legit and goes the extra mile to deliver consistent great products. The staff is also extremely nice and helpful. I hope this place is here forever as it's a lost art that many don't know how to deliver on. While I recommend many things here, we just had their Pastiera (Easter cake) which is amazing and not overly sweet. read more

I can't say enough to praise this place and it's owner. I walked by the bakery on my way to dinner when the gentleman outside cheerfully said hi to my coworkers and I. After dinner we walked back and I had decided I wanted to stop in, it before he began talking to our group in such a kind and inviting way, that I knew I had to purchase something. I found out that was the owner, and ended up talking to him for 30 minutes and he was one of the nicest people I've ever met. I ended up with a slice of mousse cake, 2 cookies and an apple cobbler. I can honestly say each item was among the best desserts I've ever had! The flavors, textures, sweetness, everything was simply amazing. I sadly am flying to another state before returning home so I can't take anything else home with me, but I did eat it all in one night. This is a must stop if your close!! read more

As someone who lived in the area for long, I never really understood the "hype" about this bakery, from the outside it seemed like a basic bakery... BOY I WAS WRONG. I had a last minute commitment and I wanted to bring cheesecake. The place where I usually would go to was too far, so I decided to stop at Artusos not expecting much. Right as I walked in I was greeted by some lovely ladies. I got the cheesecake and left. Once I got to my destination and brought out the cheesecake, I was shocked. This was probably the best cheesecake I had, in a very long time. All the guests kept asking me where this was from, so you know I was not the only one obsessing over it. ARTUSO BAKERY has been part of my Family for more years than I can remember. As a kid one of my favorite things about my birthday was having an ARTUSO cannoli cake. When I got older I even bought them for no reason other than they were so good! When I started driving to work, my first stop in the morning was ARTUSO for coffee and pastries. The downside is that I am so spoiled nothing compares. The pasties are the absolute best. Their banana cream pies are the kind of thing you dream about. Solid assortment of Italian cookies and pastries. They do a nice job. The quality is good and their product is fresh. The chocolate covered macaroons have a really nice flavor and a good texture. I don't remember seeing pignoli cookies. They are a must have. If they do have them I missed it. My other go to that is a top favorite which they did not have are the Florentine chocolate lace cookies. Overall a good place to grab desserts read more

I always loved their baked goods...no problem there. I just have a problem with the owner yapping away at the front counter with NO mask on. The Front door says you must wear a mask... They should just rename the place the Ferrara of Westchester. I don't know how a bake shop that markets itself as an "authentic Bronx bakery" and serves such terrible dessert can still be in business. I grew up in the Bronx, so even though I'm not a fan, I know what an Arthur Avenue birthday cake is supposed to taste like and be made of. So, when my dad's only request on his birthday is that I get him an "Italian-style" birthday cake, I figured that Artuso's would be a more sensible drive from northern Westchester than the Bronx. Let's fast-forward to the cake-cutting, happy birthday singing part of the party. After the first fork-full, my family couldn't even hide their disappointment - there was no custard (which is traditionally one of the layers in this type of cake) and the icing topping (which is supposed to be more like a light whipped up cream) was all wrong. I brought a box of assorted cookies and pastries which were either soggy or dry and stale tasting, depending on what was selected. I really don't get the hype about Artuso's, it's way overrated. read more

On my neverending quest for the perfect cake, I visited Artuso's based on reviews on Chowhound.com. I bought a black and white checkerboard cake, which has one layer of vanilla cake and a layer of chocolate cake, filled and iced in chocolate and vanilla buttercream. The cake itself was just okay - it tasted more like sponge cake; I prefer a richer chocolate or yellow layer cake. Still, it tasted fresh. The icing was very light and fluffy, and only semi-sweet, which I know a lot of people prefer. Again, I would have preferred the icing a bit more buttery (it IS butter cream, after all), but this was still good. Kudos to them for the amount of icing they provide, though - there's nothign worse than skimpy frosting on a cake. Overall, I think the cakes from here would please a wide variety of tastes, making it a good choice if you're looking to pick up something for a party or other social gathering. read more

This Bakery advertises that they make Belgium Waffles but I was told that they don't make the batter anymore which is an indication to me that they just don't want to. So then why advertise you make and sell them if you aren't willing to or prepare to make the batter. I settled for some pastries and the donuts were dry and barely any jelly in them. Not a good choice for a bakery. The prices are sky high for just small items. I purchased 5 cupcakes and they charged me a whopping $14 I could of got a better deal at ShopRite and 6 cupcakes for $4 The cakes are not very fresh and they are expensive. ShopRite has the best bakery in town and the prices are reasonable. Why pay more for a lesser quality product? ShopRite has a much better bakery and is more organized. read more

His shop is legendary and his products delicious and fresh. Please patronize someone so caring and service oriented (especially during this health crisis). Forget Arthur Avenue. If you want fresh, authentic Italian pastries, go, now, to Artuso's in Thornwood. The filled-to-order cannolis are a must-try, as are the exceptional St. Joseph's pastries (sfinge and another one I can't spell, but it's pronounced "basta chioate"... god, what a sad excuse for an Italian I am!). Napoleons, cream puffs, etc., all available in regular and mini sizes, are always a hit to bring to parties and family gatherings, and their cakes are outstanding. My parents got me a cannoli cake for my birthday from here, and our only grievance was that the frosting was whipped cream and not more cannoli cream! read more

We visited Artuso & Sons for our wedding cake and it was a great experience. The owner Bob was extremely welcoming and treated us as if we were in his home. We tried all the fillings we asked to taste and he took his time with us even though we knew we loved the cannoli cream. The cake itself was delicious too. This comment is just to correct a review left below. The Artuso's in Thornwood, Yonkers and the Bronx are all independently owned - they are not owned by the same people! All related in some aspect, but each have their own bakery. I've been friends with the Artuso family for years and I shop at the Bronx Artuso's every time I go to Arthur Avenue as this is the original shop. Great stuff. I was in the Thornwood shopping center and ready to go back to my car when I saw this bakery. I love baked goods, so I decided to go in to get something to take home. I bought 2 miniature pastries, and brought them home for later that night. I bought one cream puff and a cookie with chocolate mousse piped on top, covered in chocolate. They looked good, tasted stale. Both pastries were dry and tasted like they weren't freshly made that day. Considering I bought them around 2 pm, and ate them the same day, I would have thought they'd still be fresh. The filling in both pastries was good, but the pate a choux dough was horrible. They either need to revamp their recipe to make it moister, or make sure their product is fresh daily. I tried them again today just to see, and again was disappointed. I bought 2 chocolate cupcakes with cookies n cream frosting. The buttercream was more buttery than sweet, and left a greasy coating on my tongue. The cupcake itself was (again) dry and didn't taste very chocolately or delicious. Honestly, I've made better cupcakes at home. I really want to like this place, but the baked "goods'' just miss the mark completely. read more

I needed to dessert for New Years so went to Artuso's. It's a family bakery owned and if I'm not mistaken family operated business. Staff are very knowledgeable about their pastries, kind, and courteous. The pastries, and cookies that I got were very good. They had a couple that I had never tried but, I liked. One what I would call a snowball. It comes in either chocolate or vanilla and it's small either layer cake or cream puff with icing on top, that was AMAZING. The other new pastry was a either a short cake or sponge cake with cannolli cream it in and topped to the side with same cake. Then there was their cheesecake.......It was one of the best I've eaten. Very creamy, very fresh, not too sweet, and their fresh strawberries and glaze was amazing. Their prices are a little high but, it's worth it for the quality of their products. read more

i have been here several times and I've had great service and (most importantly) delicious results each time. I've ordered custom cakes and walked in and picked from the display for a last minute birthday treat (for myself). The buttercream is great, but the strawberry shortcake filling cannot be beat. The staff is always sweet and helpful, with the baker (I think the owner) actually walking the cake to my car for me because i was pushing a stroller. read more
