Out of nowhere we had a vertical black cloud in the center of our 65" Samsung smart tv screen. Of course the TV was out of warranty. We looked on YouTube and basically found out it was probably a led light strip in the TV that burned out. As handy as my husband is, we didn't want to tackle this project. We first contacted Samsung and they were going to set up an appointment for a service man to come and fix it. Samsung basically concurred that it was probably a burned out led strip as well. She told me she had heard this same problem before. She went on and on about the cost from possibly hundreds of dollars to over a thousand if the screen gets cracked during the process of fixing it and for which they couldn't guarantee and they would not be responsible for. We then looked at the possibility of buying a new TV. That was going to cost us well over a thousand dollars. So just out of curiosity my husband suggested we should see if there was a TV repairman in our area. After googling that, we came across Arundel TV in Annapolis (Cape St. Clair area). I checked out the good reviews and made the call. Steve was so good. He was available for us to bring the TV to him immediately (it was a Saturday) and we did. He plugged it in and saw the cloud and he knew that on our particular model the led strips went around the perimeter (unlike the youtubes we watched that had a number of light strips covering the entire back of the TV. Steve knew exactly what he needed to replace and had to order the led lights when he would take the back off of the tv to see exactly what he needed. He gave us an estimate and said it would be a couple days to get the parts and a couple of days to fix it so it was about 5 days. Again Steve was accommodating when we could pick the tv up and it ended up costing a little less than his $250 estimate. He did say that there is always a chance that a screen could crack during any repair so he justified Samsung's comment as well. He even showed us the bad led strip that he replaced. Very honest and knowledgeable and he saved us a lot of money. We would highly recommend Arundel TV as a option if you want to see if your TV could be fixed. read more

Easy to work with. Honest and upfront advice. Fair prices. Runs the business out of his home so I figure I'll support business owners like him vice the big businesses whenever I can. One benefit of repairing is preventing the need to recycle or trash. Repair cost $265 Vice new TV at maybe $1500. Also, when I brought it home it didn't seem to work again. Well Steve drove the two hour round trip to my house on his day off only to find out that I'd messed up by simply choosing the wrong input source of HDMI 1 vice 5. So he stands behind his work even though this was totally my bad. read more

I called this repair shop because of the reviews it received on Yelp.....and they did not disappoint. My Samsung 64" Plasma TV would not come on and ironically enough, it happened one month after the 3-yr warranty expired. Steve from Arundel TV came and determined that he could not fix at the house so he had to take in the shop. He had the TV for two weeks and in that time I was consistently informed of the progress and the different repair items he was troubleshooting. In the end, Steve fixed the TV and it is as good as new. Arundel TV was very professional, courteous, and extremely honest. I highly recommend this store. read more
