Arvada Modern Dentistry lets their dental assistants do the job that a dental hygienist should be doing...... If I wanted someone to do my routine cleaning that has only gone to school in the field of dentistry for six weeks or less, I would have just stayed home and flossed my own teeth! When I talked to the office manager Brandon, he just said in a monotone voice..."Umm, I'm sorry I don't know what I can do."(completely unhelpful) What?! Here's what you can do! How about not let your dental assistants practice on patients on their own! I got periodontal surgery there about a year ago, if you need this surgery contact Dr. Arguello get the surgery and get out! Don't stay around to let a dental assistant drill on your graphs or not be able to floss your teeth without your own assistance! read more

I had a wonderful experience here, not sure what everyone else is talking about! I had a temporary crown that came off right before I left for an international business trip and they were extremely accommodating and got me in really quickly. I had been referred to Dr. Majors but I saw Dr. Roberts. He and the dental assistant were extremely pleasant and very gentle (I'm kind of a wimp). They did an x-ray to make sure I had not damaged the tooth when the temp came out (chewing) and I appreciated their thoroughness as it would be a nightmare to be in a different country and have dental issues! Their fees were very reasonable and they were upfront about what procedures they were doing. Overall I was very impressed and I would definitely recommend them to my friends. read more

I have had many dentist throughout the years but I haven't been this pleased with a dentist office in many years. I found Dr. Ross to be one of the most caring dentist I have ever been to and I loved his staff. I am starting radiation therapy on my parotid gland soon and I had to have some dental work done ASAP. I needed a new crown and instead of multiple visits and waiting weeks to get my final crown I had it done in one visit today. Plus I was given a payment plan that works for me, I am battling cancer and have lots of medical bills. I highly recommend Dr. Ross and his staff at Arvada Modern Dentistry. read more

**Updated 3/9/17** This company no longer accepts insurance and can't keep regular help on hand. I had a filling fall out that they a couple years ago and they will not honor their work..but they are happy to give you a discount. I will never go here again, they didn't even call me back when I inquired about the filling falling out of my tooth. They only care about your $$. I went in to the Arvada location a week ago for a cleaning. I was very nervous and have never really liked going to see the dentist, go figure. The staff there were all very friendly and they made me feel welcome during my visit. They did a great job and I am pleased with the quality of work. They use the latest equipment and know what they are doing. Very clean office. I would highly recommend Arvada Modern Dentistry. I plan to continue to use this location going forward. I love Modern Dentistry!! I was using the Colorado Blvd location in Denver for a couple of years until I moved to Lakewood. I had a night guard made with was so much better then the one I had done at a different place. They really take good care of you here and everyone from the front of the house to the back of the house is very nice. It is like the name says very modern. They have great new X-rays that you can see on the computer which is really cool. read more

I recently moved to the area and it was time for my dentist appointment. I went for a cleaning/exam, routine right... Not for this dentist office. I have not had a cavity in over 15 years and somehow the doctor found 3. Ok, i said. No big deal. I knew my insurance would cover it as i told the entire team. The rep came back and said my insurance did not cover it so i had to pay $360. After i got home, i checked and my insurance did cover the procedure. It took 5 weeks to get reimbursed for what i now realize probably was not a cavity... To cap it all off, the business people never returned my calls and two months after getting my refund i got a bill for the same amount of the refund. In my opinion i would not trust the doctors there or the business office. I am finding a new dentist. read more

I visited the office as a new patient, due to a change of insurance provider. After an exam, I was quoted over $1100 of work that 'needed' to be done. I contacted my insurance company and another dental office to comparison shop. I was very unhappy to learn this office was charging nearly double, only offered the most expensive option of treatment, and under quoted my insurance coverage. I called to discuss it with them, and was given a simple explanation that they misquoted the estimate. I am sure had I not questioned it they would have happily accepted my $1000 check. Going elsewhere will save me over $700 out of pocket, assuming the work Arvada Modern Dentistry claims needs to be done is actually confirmed. I will be getting a second and possibly third opinion. Arvada Modern Dentistry is an example of why consumers should be cynical, even in the medical world. read more

Blatant False Web-Advertising: We went for the $59 new customer special as advertised on their website to include Cleaning, Digital x-rays and exam. They performed the exam and took x-rays, then the hygienist came in. She did not clean my teeth but instead examined them and I was presented with a "financial arrangement" of $1488 (I can provide evidence of the estimate). When I called to ask why they didn't clean my teeth they told me there was an Astrix on the website that indicates the cleaning is not included if gum diseases is present, which is how they weasel out of loosing money on the cleaning. They never told me verbally why they did not include the cleaning until I called upon returning home and the receptionist had me scroll to the bottom of the webpage read more

I just started going to Arvada Modern Dentistry this year and am impressed by their state of the art technology and their overall knowledge and practices, I've been working with Dr Majors and find her most pleasant. I broke a tooth last month and received the news that I would have to have a crown to protect me from further breakage and decay. The procedure and experience were good, I received my temporary that day and my permanent just a few days later. I've even received a follow up from Dr. Majors which was greatly appreciated. I just got a call from this office after having been to their affiliate office in Edgewater and having been charged over $4,100.00 for a teeth cleaning and putting a temp cap on a tooth that should have had a root canal done INSTEAD! I subsequently was scheduled for this Arvada office to get what I should have gotten 5 days ago, a root canal!! As I sit at my home in EXTREME pain, I receive a voicemail from ""Joe" stating that they would have to cancel my appointment for the root canal because "The servers were down". I'm still unsure why this would keep them from doing my root canal?? Anyway, I immediately contacted this office. The answering service picked up and I explained that I need to get in there ASAP because Iam in extreme pain! Not ONE person called me back, not ONE. They have NO emergency Doctors on duty! No one! I do not reccomend them!! Unless you want to be on your own during a dental emergency, find another Dentist!! read more

I had a very negative experience with this dental group and urge everyone not to use their services. The staff was incredibly rude and disrespectful when scheduling an appointment. What I hate from this place is the way they bill you, gestapo style. They made you pay BEFORE you have the procedure. They make you feel that all they care is money money money. Which I agree they have to charge you for their services but the WAY they do it is what it drives people away from this place. All my dentists in Denver the front desk would collect your insurance card, then AFTER you get the procedure and everything goes well, they will bill you for the difference. In this place is the opposite, BEFORE the Dr. See you, they run your insurance and they make you pay any difference. So if something goes bad you are screw up. The Dentist should change their gestapo style of collecting payment and just do it the traditional way.. read more

I always have a great experience when I go here. The entire staff is wonderful!! The receptionist, dental hygienist, dental assistants and the dentist have all been very friendly on my visits. Friendly but unorganized and unprofessional . I went with a friend to get his wisdom teeth pulled, We arrived about 15 minutes early for his 10:30am appointment to check in and prepare for the operation. I had to sign a contract that I wasn't allowed to leave the office at all and would drive him home after. They told us to sit down and he would be called back shortly. WE SAT IN THE WAITING ROOM FOR TWO HOURS UNTIL 12:30PM BEFORE HE WAS EVEN CALLED BACK! Waiting for a few minutes is something that can be expected at a dentist, but a two hour delay is completely unacceptable and unprofessional and they had clearly very overbooked themselves. Nothing was even said to us until he started inquiring after waiting for over an hour. The receptionist was very friendly and apologetic by the end of the two hours. However I ended up waiting a total of over 3.5 hours for what should have taken 1.5-2hours. Very disappointed in the complete disegard for patient's other commitments. read more

I will not be going back and I am getting a second opinion. I chose Arvada Modern Dentistry because they advertised that they had an orthodontist on staff and I needed an orthodontic check up as well so I was hoping that it could be a one stop shop sort of thing. I also liked that I had the option of contacting them online and setting an appointment that way. I should have realized that despite my online request through their website and a follow up request through their website, when I never heard anything I should move on. But instead I just called. I was told they couldn't get me in the same day to see the orthodontist as the dentist but that is understandable, they have 2 different schedules (I assumed). They were very fast getting me in and the office was nice and clean. Receptionists were welcoming and I felt the staff were all friendly. They even gave me a blanket to cover up in when I got cold during my cleaning. I was in serious need of a cleaning (it had been many years) so I went through the X-ray and gum tests (ouch!). The X-rays were as always painful but I am not holding that against them. However, that is where I think the good ends. My dentist was nice enough but when she was doing the incredibly painful gum test she showed little to no empathy when I winced as she is poking my gums with a sharp metal device! Then she told me I had 4 cavities and went to show me on the digital x-rays they had. When I told her I didn't see anything at all where she was claiming cavity, she zoomed in and told me "it's this discolored area" and pointed to it. I still saw nothing. Then as she was doing my cleaning she told me she found another area she was going to have to put in a filling from where I had "clearly pulled out the last filling." I told her very clearly that I have NEVER had a cavity before, there is NO WAY I had pulled out a filling, there were no fillings to pull out. She then argued with me about this!!! I am sorry, but I believe I know my dental history slightly better than you, Dr. I just met 5 minutes ago! Between that and the x-rays where I never saw anything I became suspicious that I was being squeezed for money for services I didn't actually need and were using my naivete to their advantage. I did not schedule a follow up visit as I was suspicious enough I will be getting second opinion on the whole situation. On top of that, while I left with a very sore mouth, I think this was the least thorough cleaning I have ever had. I left still feeling gunk on my teeth. As for the whole reason I was there, the orthodontist/dentist availability, I was informed that their orthodontist does not come to their location in Arvada anymore, I would have to go to their other location much further away and much more inconvenient. I had only scheduled my visit 2 days prior and when I had done so mentioned chosing them because of the orthodontist/dentist set up but instead of being up front and honest with me so I could decide whether or not I still wanted to give them my business, they just told me that it was because she was "unavailable" the day I was coming in. I have good insurance which covered the routine cleaning and exam and x-rays so I have paid nothing out of pocket, and honestly, I feel like I got what I paid for here. But if you don't like the staff, wait 3 months, it seems they have an incredibly high turnover rate. read more

Been going to arvada modern dentistry since 2010. Use to be a good place but they have progressively gotten worse. New staff all the time. They are all about $. Not knowing my insurance was maxed out after 1 procedure I notified them I could not afford the $1255 bill for a root canal that day and would wait 2 months for my insurance to kick back in. Anastasia told me they wouldn't be able to do the procedure then bc I'm pregnant and will be in my second trimester and that I wasted their time! She's a liar! When complaining to the office manager Kimberly she just continued to talk over me. Another thing...they have the hygienist with no experience do all the work. Folks in the front might be helpful/nice, but they don't get anything done. I took my daughter in to provide all insurance information and make a first appt. back in August 2015. This went well, we had all insurance questions answered, lined up a first exam/cleaning without incident in mid August. Since that time, we have had nothing but problems, and NOT ONE SERVICE RENDERED after multiple visits. First, we made a 6 mos. followup cleaning appt. We arrived for this cleaning appt. at 10:00 a.m. on MLK day only to be informed that there was no appt. on record. Both my daughter and I clearly remember scheduling an appt for this day with front desk staff as she would be out of school. At this point, we made another appt. for cleaning Monday of Spring Break 2016 (today.) We arrived for this cleaning appt. only to find out that we still had the old dentist office on file with insurance co (Cigna) and that her dad needed to contact Cigna to change this referral information. Yes, he was called last week to do this, and yes, he said he would and didn't....Front desk gal checked with dentist and then was told that she could have her teeth cleaned today, but we'd have to pay for it out of pocket. When queried as to why the first visit went smoothly and with all insurance issues addressed we now arrived today with a major problem to the extent that services could not be rendered. Staff replied that she " was the first one to catch the old info" Today, we walked out of yet another cleaning exam visit with, you guessed it, no cleaning of teeth. While the dentist(s) here might think their staff is doing a "great" job, catching all the "problems" that slip through, we definitely, sadly, do not. We left the office today for the last time. They worked very hard to make sure that no services were provided. Do not go to this clinic. I had a root canal and a tool broke in my canal and was not removed. Due to the tool blocking the canal the canal could not be cleaned properly and could not be filled with the cement. I was not told the tool had broken off. I had severe pain and did not know why. I was told that maybe a 2000.00 apicoectomy could help but still not tool was left. I did not have procedure. I had a perfectly good tooth ground down and a crown placed for possibly referred pain. After severe pain continued I had second opinion where on xray showed the tool and the massive infection. I have had to have all the work redone by an endodontist and dentist. Dr grey owner of arvada modern dentistry refused to return all money without contract signed and never called to apologize for anything. I have had a horrific experience. read more

Dr. Ross is gone, so is the congeniality he brought to this office. I sat today waiting for my daughter, whose appointment went over 1/2 hour after her cleaning, (1 hour 1/2 for xrays and cleaning), waiting for the dentist to come see her. I listened to the main office complain about everything, computers and phone issues, I get it, but you have clients sitting in the waiting area. I listened while the staff and Dr. Grae, were condescending to an elderly patient, who thought she was there for a root canal, which they must have thought too, since they kept asking her if she took her "premeds." Then they told her they were running behind and wouldn't be able to help her after all and today was just a consult. Kinda like a puppy mill, one dentist in one dentist out. Find an old fashioned dentist who stays in one place and cares about service. I'm changing! read more

Although the office staff is very nice, which kept me there far too long, I have had many issues with over diagnosing (every time my daughter goes in for something I get called by the dentist asking for more money because something happened during the procedure), over billing (insurance comes back saying they will pay hundreds more, but I already overpaid so have to deal with a refund) , "system being down" (almost every time I call - will have to call me back), never getting calls returned and then getting overdue notices. The last straw was when I respectfully voiced my complaints about the charging more than the insurance said I needed to pay and the lack of a refund on the Smile Generation account resulting in late fees, I was promised I would be called back the next day. Two weeks later - no returned call. I probably wouldn't have written a negative review had it not been for this last lack of follow up. I have spent more at this office in 2 years than at my previous dentist in 20 years. I'm going to need to find a new dentist as I can't afford dental care here. read more
