If kindness, care and location were the only criteria, Arvada Vision would get five stars from me without hesitation. The staff is lovely, and I've always appreciated the care I receive. However... I've started joking with myself that I should pack a snack and a novel for my visits. I actually asked the receptionists if I had time to run home for a little bit after I checked in- and I did!! I waited an hour and twenty minute before seeing the doctor at my past visit, and total visits consistently stretch past two hours. I don't write this lightly. I have gone here for years and love the place. I've given it several years hoping the timing would improve, but unfortunately it hasn't. I'm genuinely sad to leave, but I need a practice that respects appointment times a bit more closely. A CLOWN SHOW - If you want to feel like you've stepped through a carnival tent of ineptitude and disorganization, then this is the place for you. 1) I made an appointment online. When I went in for the appointment, I wasn't in the system. I was told by the receptionist that the online scheduling wasn't that good. 2) Re-scheduled an appointment. I know, I know - after my online experience, I should have realized that my appointment the next day was going to be like a funhouse of distorted mirrors. How you may ask? Glad to explain. a) Day of appointment I was in the receptionist's system; however, the eye-tech couldn't find me in her system in her office. I was told that I needed to go to the reception area to wait. I balked. Finally, the receptionist came in, and they realized that the eye-tech was looking for me under the wrong doctor. This took some time . b) I got my eyes dilated. While my eyes were dilating, I was put in another office. After a really long time, I stepped out and asked one of the techs how long I'd have to wait. She told me I needed to go back in because my eyes were dilating. c) After more time, the optometrist came bursting in and told me he had LOST me. Apparently, I had been placed in a normally unused office. d) Finally, I left Arvada Vision & Eye Clinic after an hour and a half. BUT WAIT: 3) Like a marching band of floating instruments following me home, even though I paid in full (the receptionist insisted), I received a bill saying I still owed them more money. read more

After many years with the same optometrist, I decided to switch to Arvada Vision and Eye Clinic--and I'm so glad I did. From start to finish, my experience was excellent. The staff and technicians were professional, kind, and efficient, creating a welcoming and smooth process. Dr. Cross performed my eye exam and went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, especially as a first-time contact lens user. He was incredibly patient, thorough, and kind--taking the time to answer all my questions and guide me through the entire process without rushing. While billing took a bit longer than expected, everything was accurate in the end, and the level of care I received more than made up for the slight delay. I've been coming here for at least 20 years I think but lately they suck now that they've been bought out by Panorama. They make you fill out this super long questionnaire where they gather a lot of information that has nothing to do with your appointment or your eyes. But most of all is that their prices in the Optical Shop are super high and they are not transparent in their pricing. I canceled my glasses immediately after purchasing them and they only wanted to refund me $400 out of the $900 plus dollars I was charged still leaving me out of $500. Then they gave me an unbelievable run around and it took me a month to finally get restitution. Furthermore is they have at least 5 staff members behind their desk at any given time and not one of them will answer the phone or call you back if you leave a message when attempting to get your money back. They totally ignore you. I had to physically drive over there, walk in and get them to help me. They claimed that now an answering service does all of their phone work for them and all calls are managed through that. In addition the very same salesman who sold me the glasses in the first place wouldn't lift a finger to help me get my refund. Horrible customer service and a complete rip off on their inflated prices. In addition to that is they wouldn't even email my eye prescription so I had to drive over there, walk in and get it myself. GO TO COSTCO and save money. I saved over $750 personally. The doctors are very good is why I give 2 stars. Otherwise it would have been the lowest possible. i have just received a bill for $50 for a procedure on a visit from a year and a half ago, I have no idea what it is or if I had already paid for it. Please note I already paid close to $6,500. for the cataract procedure to upgrade to the multi focal lens. Few things, staff is super friendly however they have a hard time with followup. Their system was down so I was unable to get the full evaluation that I needed which I feel like should have been a call to see if I wanted to reschedule as I live out of town. My husbands glasses were made incorrectly and I think mine are now too as the prescription cannot be seen out of very well. I have called twice now with no return phone call from the Glasses area. Dr. Cross has been my optometrist for over 10 years now. I look forward for to seeing him now every year because my experience has always been stellar. He has the patience and experience to make sure my prescription is always 100% accurate. My prescription isn't the most complicated, but he always makes sure that he finds even the most minute changes so that way my vision is the best that it can be. I can have a hard time making decisions with the frames that I like. The people downstairs working with eyeglasses always offer me helpful suggestions and never rush me when it comes to selecting frames. They always make sure that the lenses I choose will fit with my lifestyle. The glasses always come in on time or before their estimated date of arrival. Before I started seeing the pleasant staff at Arvada Vision I was going to one of the big vision chains that is advertised all over TV and the internet. They seemed to only care about getting their customers in and out as fast as possible, leaving me with less than adequate care. Purchased contacts weeks ago, but they never submitted the order. We have called and emailed multiple times. When we actually do get someone, it's always "someone will call you back within 24 hours", "someone will call you later this afternoon". No one ever calls back. We can't get our contacts, we can't get a refund, we can't get a copy of our prescription... We had these same issues back in April. And lens issues over the summer. If we ever get our contacts, we'll be done with this place. read more

They are located in old town arvada, very easy to find. I was able to place an appointment on their website as well as fill out my paperwork before hand to speed up the waiting room time. Dr Stephen Bashford is the BEST. There isn't a nicer doctor out there! I was amazed at the selection of contacts and frames they carry. They are an exclusive Oakley suppliers with a huge selection. I was able to get a pair with a prescription fast. I am planning on going back during snowboard season to get prescription goggles. If you are looking for an eye doctor for life, this is it. This organization has very poor customer service and billing. The medical staff (optometrists and technicians) are five star but the billing department and customer service is very poor. I paid for services not covered by my insurance at the time of my exam. My insurance coverage includes an annual eye exam and the administrative staff verified my insurance and coverage at the time of my visit. Over three months after my eye exam visit, their billing department sent me a statement for the cost of that annual eye exam. The statement did show receipt of my previous payment not covered by insurance. The optometrist who examined me continues to be In Network on my insurance website. My insurance continues to cover an annual exam as shown on their website on evidence of coverage. When I tried to reach the billing department I received a recording. When I tried to Email them with supporting documents, the Email address was not correct (address is posted on their website). When I called them for a correct Email address, I was told they do not have one so I requested to speak with a supervisor; I was asked to hold and then promptly hung up on. The billing statement does not have an Email address. I will be hand delivering the documents in person and wondering whether I should sent certified mail. I would not recommend this organization due to poor billing and customer service. read more

Absolutely horrible!! I ordered a pair of glasses from them. I went in to pick them up and they were the WRONG eyeglasses NOT what I ordered. I refused to pay for something I did not receive and they sent me to COLLECTIONS!!! Not to mention, every time I had ordered contacts from this company they were "out of stock." I had an eye infection that the doctor told me would go away with a different brand or contacts. I tried them - never went away. Dr. John C. Cross is an exceptional provider. I have been wearing eyeglasses for over 40 years, and I have a very difficult bifocal prescription. (I am suuuuuper nearsighted.) Sadly (but not entirely unexpectedly), I have had many disappointing new eyeglass experiences over the years. However, Dr. Cross took extensive time with me, and listened to every one of my concerns, to make sure that my new prescription was exactly correct. He even modified his usual method of examination to reveal a slight discrepancy between what the exam was showing I needed in a lens, versus what I actually did need, to produce a razor-sharp, crystal-clear field of vision. If he did not have the level of patience, attention to detail and dedication to getting it right, that he does, that would've been impossible, and I would have walked away an unhappy customer. I am a very happy customer! I cannot adequately tell you much his incredible level of patient focus has meant to me. If you live in Arvada, or anywhere in the north part of the Denver area (or, really, anywhere, at all, in the Denver area) I strongly recommend, and encourage, that you get your next eye exam from Dr. Cross, at Arvada Vision and Eye Clinic PC. read more

Have been trying for over 2 months to get my records transferred to another practice.. They didn't answer the phone for the longest time-- answering service kept saying they would call back. After several days of that, I did get a call from the office itself and the person said they were having "computer problems. " Not speculating why they can't fix the problems within 2 plus months, but they apparently haven't. I went in person to get the records and was going to hand deliver them but they would not print and hand them over. I do believe they are legally liable -that they are MY records and they have the responsibility to provide them to me. I am now beginning to search state licensing authorities and departments responsible for overseeing the practice. Never had such problems with any medical facility but have heard that the parent company that owns all this (Panorama) is the problem. Want to guess how much they wanted to charge me for ONE contact? TWENTY DOLLARS!!! You can get a whole box of contacts for $26. I was stunned that after giving them so much money over the years they couldn't either give me ONE contact to get by or at the very least be reasonable on the price. I was running a little late to an appointment so I called to let them know. The receptionist heard me just fine up until the point I said I was running late and even asked me how late I was running, at which point she immediately started acting like she couldn't hear me. I had never been hung up on so fast in my life. I called again and when the same person heard it was me, instant hang up. I've had to go back two times already now, and I'm about to have to go back a third. They gave me a kid sized frame the first time I went, after I tried on some adult sized frames and handed them the ones I wanted. When they said my glasses were ready, I went to pick them up and they had a set of gold kids frames for me. I told them "no, those were wrong". They said that they would work on it, (this was on a friday) I went in the following Monday to see if any progress has been made, I asked them to bring out the frames that they had set for me that were the Childs frames, and they brought out a completely different set of black kids frames, to nobody's surprise, they still didn't fit me, and so we went along with getting the new glasses. Now, I am wearing the new glasses, but I think they got the prescription backwards. Wearing them normally, everything is still blurry, however, If I put them up to my face backwards, I see a lot more clearly than if I put them on normally. Once I get this issue resolved with them, I will never be going there again. I shouldn't have to make it a months ordeal just to get new glasses. read more

I went to Arvada vision clinic to get new glasses. Dr. Bashford has great a great personality! It was easy to talk to him. As a nurse I know how important it is that a Doctor is good with patients. I have multiple sclerosis and have a potential for eye problems. They did the necessary tests and it was affordable! When I say affordable, I paid out of pocket and got everything I needed at a reasonable price. The front desk staff was awesome! Great experience! I will go there again as a regular patient, even though they don't take my insurance. 5 stars people! read more

I do not think I had a more thorough and professional eye exam.The wait time to see the doctor was about 5 minutes. The office staff was friendly and courteous. I certainly felt like my eye health mattered, and I was treated with the most respect. I guess I got too used to mall walk-in places that only see you as a cash cow. The staff are just as horrible as the 70's decor. The gals at the front could careless if you are there, never smile or even greet you. But, what do you expect..the doctors are the same, they walk you you repeatedly and act as though you aren't there?! Apparently, they have enough business that they don't need to be concerned about the lack of customer services. There are eight seats in the front waiting room and every single seat was taken, plus folks standing! We waited for over an hour after our scheduled appt. to be seen and then waited for another 30 minutes. Really, this ended up being a two hour eye appt. Horrible! read more

The doctors and all of the staff are personable and professional. I have even moved all the way across town and still make the 45 minute dive to go see them and I found out that several people I work with also go there and they live in Denver and Lakewood. I ordered new contacts and they would not give me trials to hold me over for the couple days until they arrived. I called Target and they gave me two weeks of trials when I ordered.
